As I was going inside, I froze at my spot. Was I hallucinating or was it really GEET..! I was as happy as a child who gets his favorite toy. She was standing by the pillar just infront of the entrance door. I kept looking at her and that's when a man came and tapped her shoulder from behind, and then they both went inside arm in arm. I became furious that why is someone touching MY Geet with so much authority. And YES she was, is and will remain MY Geet.

I went inside after them. I started to look for Geet as soon as I entered the party. A smile came to lips thinking of my condition that I had became crazy for a girl and she was no ordinary girl. She was my love and that's what made her special and extraordinary for me. I looked around as if I was losing my life.

My eyes caught sight of her atlast. She was sitting (again) by the chairs near the dance floor and the same guy whispered something in her ear to which she nodded and started to look at nowhere, like she was thinking or concentrating on something. My gaze then followed the guy, whom I recognized as one of our clients. What was Geet doing with him? E wasn't a one woman kind of guy and DEFINITELY not the guy Geet deserved.

Seeing her alone, I went towards her, hoping that she won't recognize me as Maan; her student. Keeping my fingers crossed, I walked towards her. I wanted to feel her near me, near my heart so she could feel and hear my heart beat for her. I was thinking of how to start conversation and how to ask her for dance. I didn't know when I was infront of her. I looked at her and saw her looking at me.

"Hey", I said. I became a bit nervous and looked behind at the dance floor. "Umm will you dance with me?" She kept on looking at me and I closed my eyes and kept my fingers crossed. "Yes" came her reply. I was on cloud nine on hearing the answer. I extended my hand to her which she held with a stronger grip than the last time she had held it for the dance. To my luck, the DJ was playing a slow song. I held her hand and placed the other on her waist. While Geet placed her hand on my shoulder and this time there was no hesitation in her eyes like the last time.

I was enjoying having her in my arms, so close. She was closer to me than the last time. Why? I don't know but I was having the time of my life which was interrupted by a phone call. I cursed the caller. And excusing myself, I went to attend the call. But when I came back, Geet wasn't anywhere to be seen. Looking at the time it was 11:46 pm. "She's gone" I thought and went outside, dejected.

I was strolling outside in the garden when I saw a girl sitting under a tree with her head on her legs and arms circled around them, holding her legs to her chest. I would've gone if she wouldn't've looked up. It was Geet. I stopped on my tracks, seeing me she straightened herself and smiled. I went and sat down besides her.

"You know I was thinking about you", I heard her say in her sweet voice, "so you remembered me?" I said with a small smile. "Why won't I? My friend brought me to the party but I'm not a party person and last time too, my colleague invited me". She paused for a while and then said, "May be I think too much. My life has been a bit rough lately. I don't go anywhere because I think I'm not supposed to enjoy. I keep on thinking about it."

"Every one has the right to be happy and enjoy. It's their will not other's" I said to her. "But this is not the case with me. I want to be happy and I want people related to me to be happy too and the person whom I'm attached to is not. The person whom I care about the most is not, and they say she never will"

I wanted her to forget her life for a while and talk to me. I wanted her to be carefree for just a few moments in which she's with me. I wanted her to be free of all the chains which bind her to her tensions.

"How did you remember me? You have not seen me. You've just seen me in my mask", I asked to which she said, "People are not recognized by their faces, it's their heart and their feelings that are remembered. And same is the case here, I remembered you, I don't know how but yet I did."

In the previous party I was looking at the couples who were happy and enjoying. I felt envious of them. But then you came and asked for the dance. I don't know why I said yes even though I've never danced in my entire life and that was my first dance. Dancing with you made me feel light. I thought that going and having a change would help and today I was here on my friend's invitation. First I didn't wanted to go but I wanted to feel happiness. I wanted to enjoy for some time. So I agreed. But I didn't feel the same as I did last time' with you. We were leaving but Rehan said that he had to meet someone and so had to go back inside. I wasn't enjoying and nor I was happy. It wasn't like the last time" and then she laughed and said, "You have a long life because when I was remembering you, you came"

She looked towards me and then stood up. I followed her actions and stood up and we started strolling. I was happy to have her by my side.

"May be it has something to do with you, I've never felt my heart so light before." She stopped and came then came in front of me. "Do you have magical powers?" she asked with seriousness in her voice. I laughed at her. "Hey, I'm serious!" she said, pouting. I felt like pinching her cheeks. She looked so cute like that. "No, I don't.? She looked heavenly when she smiled. Looking into my eyes intently she said, "Who are you and why are you here with ME?"

"You might know if you see my face". I replied on which Geet giggled. "Why? Is it written on your face?" I looked at her, "yes". She looked with her confusing eyes, "ok then take off your mask" she smiled achievingly.

I wanted her to take off my mask, "the thirsty comes to the well not the other way round".

Geet hesitated for a moment and then stepped forward; she raised her hands to untie the thread of the mask. Her hands in my hair felt so soothing. When she had untied, she looked at me and then started to take off the mask. Geet didn't look at me the whole time she was removing the mask. Instead she had her eyes fixed on the mask as if she wanted to keep the best part for the last and savour the moment. I wanted to see her reaction when she sees me. Geet looked at my face, I saw as her expressions changed from curiosity and anxiousness to surprise and recognition. She looked at me for a moment or two and slowly the zeal which was present in her eyes, evaporated and turned into horrid.

"Geet come on, I'm free now", shouted a man from behind us. Geet looked at me with longing in her eyes and then apology. She looked down at the mask which she was holding and then took a step forward and lifted herself on her toes so that she reached my height. Placing her hand on my left cheek, she brought her face near the other. I could feel her warm breath falling on my cheek. Trying to relish the moment, I closed my eyes and then I felt her soft supple lips on me and a moment later I felt lose of warmth. I opened my eyes in confusion and looked at Geet. "I'm sorry. I can't". That's all she said before she ran away from me and I just stood there trying to comprehend the words she said.
