I was delighted to read about how the government will take away ration cards from families who don't send their children to school. Any move that aims at promoting literacy is always good news. Hopefully, Maharashtra will be able to achieve a high literacy rate like Kerala's.
While this piece of news lifted my mood, my happiness was short lived as I read about the floods in Madhya Pradesh and Kashmir. Although we Mumbaikars were spared this time, it wasn't a nice feeling to know that others were suffering like we did last year.
