I adore Asian dramas, films, variety shows etc. Yep they are irresistibly lovable.

Talking mainly about K-dramas:
They have the modernness that one can relate to; which Indian dramas lack. They also have the reserved nature, the guarded by our culture thing. The whole Asian continent can relate to each other on that aspect. K-dramas are restrained in some aspects and modern in others, in other words they are modern without being western. For example: Annoying family members are central to pretty much all us Asians.๐Ÿ˜†

American/British TV = rather than emotional depth they focus on moving on to the next chapter, getting quick plot movements, they want quick results, quick actions and zippy twists, and they are EFFING long, plus you have to wait yearly for seasons (ughh.. I can actually feel getting old. Dexter? are you here yet??) On that respect, Asian drama's are like the heroin addicts quick sniff. It's short, you get the high and you move on.๐Ÿ˜† Another annoying thing about American/British TV is how everyone sleeps with everyone, everyday = it gets boring๐Ÿ˜† they never center around Teh OTP thing which we adore so much.<3 and the fun angst is missing too.๐Ÿ˜† And K-dramas have this innocence and simplicity which is inverted in real life/relationships, so it's a great way to loose real life stress and make believe and have some fun.

To summarize: Brooding is the Eastern thing, concluding is the Western thing and dragging is the Indian thing. ๐Ÿ˜† jk

Korean dramas are always selling the fairytale fluff, true emotions, and HWT men. What else does a gal need to spend her free time on?๐Ÿ˜† Even if the same story-line is re-cooked 1001 times, they still magically make it fresh. K-dramas have found the perfect formula to keep a girl invested and that's why they are sooo irresistible. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sorry for the rant, I'm bored, haven't slept and it's 6 AM๐Ÿ˜†

well-said! ๐Ÿ‘ agreed with everything esp that Bold parts- pretty much that is it really!

I really vastly prefer K-Dramas (and other East Asia dramas really) to anything America puts out. I relate much better with the characters and the emotions they project, I can actually buy that the lead pair are in love instead of just lust, the short length is often convenient and of course the hot lads xD

Everybody is all like 'But American shows are so much more 'real' and diverse, etc etc' but I don't really buy that. I'm not always in the mood for 'realness' (pfft). And as far as I can see, with the exception of a few shows, most pretty much can be divided into the following categories: Cop/Detective show. Sitcom about life in the Big City. Sitcom about Family Life. Medical Drama. Corporate Drama. Teenie Drama. Even if they have a format of featuring a single different topic every episode it can get stale, because they all end up coming back to the same damn topics. And yes, they are all waaay too long. Dexter is pretty much the only American TV show I watch now. It's just awesome that way xD
