Chapter 3

"Aren't you Gautam Rai Prakash's daughter?" Swayam blurted out, his eyes shining unusually.

Suddenly Sharon remembered where she had seen him.

Her father was constantly speaking of the "new guy in town". She was never really interested in listening to her dad's boring business talks but this man had caught her attention. She had seen him on news channels too, speaking confidently. Her father considered him competiton which meant he was good in his work.

"Yes I am. And you are Swayam Shekhawat I presume?"

Swayam couldn't believe it

"Y-yes I am. Does you dad speak about me?"

"Once in a while. So Art Of Living, how come?" She asked trying to change the topic. She began to walk toward the assigned room.

Swayam had no choice but to walk along with her.

" I wanted to take a break from regular work so I decided to join. Plus, I've heard it's a real stress reliever, something which I really need right now." He said , laughing.

" I needed a break too" She said, without waiting for him to ask. She didn't know why she did that.He was just a man she had met less than 10 minutes ago. But oddly,she felt comfortable talking to him. "I hate yoga though, I just hate it.I've heard this is the "new yoga" " She continued randomly.

Swayam was quite surprised. She hardly seemed like the kind of person who would be interested in striking a conversation. Her bored express=ion had now changed into a happy, excited expression.

They walked towards the chairs kept on one side of the room. There were around 15 people from the age group of 18 years to 45 years of age.

"I dislike it too. Actually I've never tried it. I don't have the patience to do that. " He said after they had sat down.

"Excuse me." He smiled at her and removed his phone to see if he had received any calls or messages.

3 missed calls from Rakesh

Swatam sighed. God , why couldn't that man leave him alone?

-I am out. Please don't call me before 7pm.-He typed out the message and sent it to Rakesh.

- Where are you???????- Came the reply

Swayam silently cursed him. Inquisitive fellow.

-Art Of Livi – He was interrupted by a loud cough which made his hairs stand up.

" Hello , I am Mr Manish Rohra , you're instructor. I would like it if you'll would call me Manish only , please don't be too formal."

A tall,middle aged, bald man stood in front of them. He was dressed very casually and had his hands behind his back.

"We don't have many rules here. The only rule is – No Technology - . Which includes your cellphones, headphones , ipads, laptops..whatever. We don't wish to lay restrictions on you , but we've had cases where we've had people being immensely distracted by their phones ringing or whatever. So I would request you to kindly keep all your gadgets in the cupboard to the left of the room whenever you can." He said , pacing left and right in front of his audience.

Swayam deleted the half-typed message and kept the phone in his back pocket once again. He knew he was going to be bombarded with messages from Rakesh by the time the class was over.

"We are all here because we want to take a break from our respective stressful careers or family lives. I had myself participated in one of the courses and it changed my life completely. Infact, I gave up my well-paying job and became an instructor here. Luckily I don't have a family to take care of so it was ok..Hahahahaha!!" Manish laughed out loud. A few of the people in the audience joined in, while the others smiled.

"Ok, first thing we are going to do is introduce ourselves. So let's form a circle and sit on these mats please. They are not dirty , don't worry." He winked.

Swayam picked up his laptop bag and got up. He noticed a few of the people were already going towards the cupboard to keep their belongings.

"Let's go and keep our belongings there." He told Sharon who was unsuccessfully trying to close the zip of her handbag." Let me help you."

She smiled at him and handed him the bag. Hepulled hard and the zip closed. Sharon sighed in relief.

"Thanks a lot. I was really worried I would have to keep it open."

"No problem Sharon. Why don't you go sit down? I'll keep your bag. And save a seat for me!" He said, smiling down at her.

"Um.ok..here you go. Thanks again." She said smiling uncertainly.

She watched his retreating back .Why was he behaving so nice? Was it just his nature or was it something else?

Forget it Sharon, you've haven't met new people since a long time. Stop suspecting the poor guy.

But there was an odd shine in his eyes..Was he so happy on meeting her?
