Small dreams. Madhu has been presented to us as a middle class girl with a good heart. She went to school, worked, and took care of her family financially and physically (Malik's meds, Padmini's swollen feet, Trishna's every whim etc).

Madhu was never shown as having BIG dreams of her own. And sadly I think if she did have any, then Madhu herself sacrificed those dreams due to the family's financial constraints or her sister. Madhu is practical. She knew extra money was needed at home so she worked, unlike Trishna.

So what could have been Madhu's small dreams? I think they were the dreams of every girl. Getting married, having a partner who will love you and support you. Having a family.

Now I am not saying Mukul was her dream - she was not in love with him. But Madhu is practical. She saw a nice boy with potential if someone believed in him. She knew he loved her and again, nice boy.

Madhu is a simple girl who wanted a simple life. A sweet and caring partner and a life full of love and happiness.

RK's forced marriage + the insults do not equal to this life. I think that is Malik's pov.
