Geet unconsciously began pouring water in a glass & her eyes looked at the sleeping pills in her hand'She mixed them with the water in the glass'She then put the glass on a tray & held it in front of her eyes...

"Sorry Dia, but you can't get engaged to Maan. First reason'I love Maan & secondly he doesn't loves you. I think these two reasons are more than sufficient,right?"

Geet smirked. Dia was alone when Geet entered her room with the glass of water. She saw Dia wearing ear-rings in front of the mirror, a beaming smile on her face,,,,That broke Geet's trance & she was horrified by what she was about to do.How can she poison Dia!!!!?? Geet stood stunned learning about what heinous act she was going to commit'

"Geet?"

Geet was startled hearing Dia's voice & the tray slipped from her hand, the water with the over-dose of sleeping pills spilling on the floor' Geet panicked..

" It's okay Geet!..the servants will see to it. I was anyways not going to drink water, I have kept fast!" Dia assured her.

Geet did not hear her being still in shock.

"N-Nahi woh...I must go!!"

Geet rushed from there making her way through the exit of the resort through the back gate, controlling the out-burst of tears which was building in her'Her heart was beating profusely knowing that she was too late in realizing her feelings..She felt dizzy but somehow she was able to reach her PG & throw herself in the bed, letting her tears to flow which had burdened her heart'She cried bitterly aghast at the fact that within a couple of seconds her life had taken such a drastic turn which had had never ever dreamt of!! There was no way out of this now'She had to live with this unfulfilled love all her life. She could neither leave her job nor she could tell him about her love for him.

"Whatever happ'happened, happened for'for good. Even if I had come to know of my feelings earlier'toh phir what great would have happened ??Would I have told my boss that I love you, Never!! '.toh phir aaj jo kuch bhi hua woh thik-- "

She broke into tears again failing to console herself. She even hated the fact that she tried to harm Dia'who genuinely loved Maan'and perhaps'perhaps even the most suitable for him'

"Achcha hua'.achcha hua', Sasha & Pinky are not there, else what would I say to them'.."

Her eyes were red when she glanced at the clock. It was 10pm. Her breaths almost stopped.

"Engagement toh already ho gayi hogi'."

Geet was numb. She gazed at her mehendi. She closed her eyes & allowed the tears to flow. The pillow was drenched in her tears. She didn't know when sleep invaded her sad & dejected soul'.

Next Day

"Maan bte, kahan kho gaye?, I am speaking to you!"

"Huh'!!...haan dadima'you were saying something'?"

"Breakfast has already been served before you, You have taken the spoon & fork in your hand but have forgotten to start eating!" smiled Dadima.

Now Maan was completely back in his senses, "Ye-es'N-No..I am getting late for office ! I have to go!"

"But Maan--"

He was gone. "Strange! Maan has never behaved like this! Shayed..Dia ki vajah se'" Dadi smiled thinking..

Maan was on his way to the office. Each & everything had been wrong with him that morning'It's as if Geet's thoughts had jam-packed his mind. He couldn't think of anything else beyond her. He had made a fool of himself in front of all the butlers in KM. They had to repeat to him several times what they were trying to say to him as by the time they could complete their sentence, Maan's mind went on to Geet. That all happened because he had been giving strange orders to all the servants which they failed to understand!. Also in order to avoid embarrassment in front of Dadima, he had to skip his breakfast! The list doesn't ends there! He was on the verge of telling the gardener to drive the car to KC!.

"What's happening with me? I hope office mein sab thik ho'"

He could only hope given his awry situation'

For the first time ever, Geet had arrived in office before Maan She was seated in her cabin, all worried.

"Listen Geet! It's no use denying the fact that you love Maan,so better accept it & live with it, samjhi?And you can always imagine that he also loves you, who cares of reality yaar! After all, you are free to imagine anything!No one is going to come & say anything!"

She felt better.

Maan was extra cautious when he entered KC with six bodyguards on tow. Knowing that something was wrong with him,he took great care to see he walked properly & most importantly whether he walked in the right direction. It was very difficult to monitor his mind!. All the employees like always stood up as he entered & he too did not forget to cast a stern eyes on them. Adi was walking alongside him telling him about the meeting of that day but Maan's listened to him only half-mindedly'And then as he passed through Geet's cabin, he saw her'

Geet too had seen him'Their eyes locked..Geet, now knowing her feelings, felt her heart beats rising each second. Her palms ran cold as her eyes incessantly stared even after knowing it was wrong'Maan, on the other hand, was off his guard. His senses once again ditched him when he needed it the most..He cared a damn to bring himself back but he noticed that Geet somewhere looked tired'he wanted to know the reason'

"S-Sir'"

Maan was startled hearing Adi's hesitant voice. He at once looked away from Geet.

"How can Geet be here?? She always arrives late'"

Without looking anywhere else, Maan headed straight to his cabin & sat on his chair, very perplexed.

"This was the last nail in the coffin!! You have started to see her everywhere, even though she is not there' But Geet was there in her cabin..wasn't she'?"

He called Adi who came instantly.

"Geet has not come till now right?" he asked in a stern voice, "There is not even one day, she arrives on time.And--"

"But Sir--" Adi interrupted him. Maan looked at him sharply. Adi stammered, "S-S-S-Sir'G-G-G-Geet has already come, she is in her cabin'"

"What?" asked Maan shocked.

"What happened to Sir today???" wondered Adi but he dare not ask anything, "Y-Y-Yes Sir, you had seen her on your way to cabin'"

Maan looked away from him. Adi was already gazing the floor

"Before he thinks I have turned insane, I have to fix things.."

"Why are you standing over here then, bring Mr Sharma's file, quick!!!" he said sternly

"B-B-But Sir, that file is with Geet'"

"Then tell her to bring it!!!" he said abruptly but later he wondered whwther it was the right thing to do! Before he could correct his order, Adi was gone'

"Adi Sir, you go & give him this file please!!"

"Geet, I am not going in front of him atleast for few hours!! Pata hai, he is behaving very strange, you go! "

Adi left. That made Geet all the more nervous.

"Now what happened to Maan Sir???"

Geet prayed heavily to Babaji standing outside Maan's cabin. She had to report details of Mr Sharma's project & she knew it would be rock-hard difficult for her. Half of her energy goes in suppressing her rising heart-beats then what attention will she pay to the project?

Inside the cabin, Maan was getting hell restless, every now & then gazing at the door, waiting for Geet to come..!

"Will she come'.or not?"

Just then the door. He heard her voice. He immediately pretended to read some file as he told her to come in.

Geet was startled to see Maan.

"S-Sir aapne toh file ko ulta pakda hua hai'" said Geet, glancing sideways.

"Huh'! Ha-an!" Maan didn't know what to say, "Now even she will think I am mad!!"

He banged the file on the desk which scared Geet.

"Freak!! He is really behaving strange! Firstly I am not even able to look into his eyes & now his behavior is making me more nervous!"

Geet showed Mr Sharma's file to him & began to report various details. She tried her best to remain normal but she didn't have the guts to look at him. Maan gazed at her all the while. She stammered twice but Maan hardly cared. Geet found it strange because he always found ways & means to interrupt her & point out her mistakes & today he didn't speak even once! What's wrong. Still she did not look at him, her eyes looking down at the file'Suddenly Geet began to feel giddy'She placed her fingers on her temple'Maan knew there was something amiss'She was about to faint'

"Geet!!!!!"

He got up & rushed towards her. He caught her in his arms at the right time. She was unconscious'He was baffled'He carried her & placed her on the sofa. A doctor was called for immediately!

All the employees were standing outside Maan's cabin seeing the doctor go in. All were surprised. No doctor was called to KC ever & no one had seen Maan so worried'

"What happened to her???"asked Maan panicking

The doctor checked still unconscious Geet & replied, "Don't worry Mr Khurana! She has not eaten anything since yesterday except water, so she fainted! I have given some medicines, She is expected to regain conscious within sometime. After that please make her have a hearty meal! "

Maan heaved a sigh of relief.

"Thank you doctor."

"And one more thing, there is something that's bothering her which has caused a lot of strain to her mind. Do look into it."

The doctor departed.

After a while, Geet opened her eyes to see Maan besides her.. There was smile on her lips as she stared at him.

"Are you okay?"

She nodded & sat on the sofa, Maan helped her.

"You need to eat something, you must be hungry!"

"N-No. I am alright'"

"Geet--"

He was interrupted by a phone ring. After ending the call, Maan called for Rahul. Rahul entered the cabin & saw Geet sitting on the sofa, looking sick. He wanted to ask her how she was but didn't dare in front of Maan.

"Rahul, I want you to do all the preparations for Mr Sharma's project launch right from deciding the theme for the launch party & also for sending out invitation cards. "

"As you say Sir."

Rahul departed. Maan then turned to Geet.

"Doctor ne kaha you did not eat since yesterday'"

Geet felt nervous hearing that. She looked away.

"What happened yesterday?"

There was a pause. Geet didn't know what to say, "Nothing h-happened'w-woh t-toh Dia & your engagement--"

"Dia aur meri engagement nahi hui thi kal!" he announced.

Geet was utterly stunned hearing that. He continued

"She fainted when we were about to exchange rings. She had kept fast!"

Geet gulped the words as they came. She didn't know whether it was a good thing or a bad thing'She was too weak even to think about it'

"Anyways, lets order something to eat."

He reached for his phone but she stopped him.

"Sir'pehle hi doctor has come & now'aap yahaan aapne cabin mein khana order karenge'outside everyone' "

Maan sensed her uneasiness.

"You don't have to think about anyone. I don't you will be able to go to a restaurant!"

"Sir I will go but I don't want to eat here'"

"Agree you are very brave but--"

"Sir please!!!! You don't know the rumor mills'please Sir.. "

"Then to I will come with you." & then added in a low voice, "Waise bhi because of you, I didn't eat my breakfast!"

"Aapne kuch kaha?"

"Nothing!"

They walked out of KC separately. All the employees didn't even dare look at Maan.

They went to a nearby restraint. And the way she hogged the food!, Maan even forgot that he too was hungry!

"Maybe the doctor lied! He said you didn't eat since yesterday & you are eating as if you haven't had anything since a week." Maan laughed a bit, which startled himself.

"Hww!! Are you teasing me???" she asked with parathas stuffed in her mouth.

He smiled looking at her whilst she finished her lunch

Maan's phone rang. It was Dadima

"Maan, why don't you take Dia outside today evening. Whatever happened yesterday.. she will feel nice if you ask her out!"

Maan looked at Geet. He didn't want to go but couldn't even refuse his dadi.

"Okay.."

Next Maan's phone,which was kept on the table, vibrated to receive Dia's message. The smile in Geet's face faded at once seeing that'

They both were in the car when Maan said to her

"Geet, you can go to your PG & take rest!"

"No Sir, I am fine'I better do some work'"

It was almost evening. Geet was in the office. Maan had gone to meet Dia & Geet knew that. She couldn't concentrate on anything, however hard she tried.

"Maine kaha na Geet, don't care of the reality!!"

Just then she saw Rahul walking out of the office with laptop in his hand.

"Are you going somewhere?"

"Yeah'going to the coffee shop. Need to plan something creative for the launch party & I won't get any ideas if I sit in office. Waise bhi, I am hoping for a promotion, need to impress Maan Sir! "

"I think I should go with him'I have to divert my mind somewhere, else I would keep thinking about Maan & Dia & feel miserable'." Thought Geet.

"Can I come with you?"

"Cool! Meri bhi help ho jayegi, party plan karne mein!"

Though Maan was with Dia, his mind always had Geet. She literally made him laugh today, which no one, not even he himself, could ever do before. His felt his mind & heart is always at peace whenever Geet is around'& whenever she is not there, her thoughts would make up for her absence'

On his way back to Khurana Mansion, Maan passed through a coffee shop. He stopped his car immediately as his eyes saw something really shocking'Anger gushed with him when he saw Rahul & Geet laughing & giving thumbs-up to each other'Maan saw them eyeing a laptop, both were sitting pretty close to each other sipping coffee with Geet elbow resting on Rahul's shoulder'

Maan hated that..his hands tightened around the steering wheel, almost crushing it'His eyes looked at them ruefully as it pierced his heart'.

Maan is stubborn so it while take a wile fr him to realize his feelings😉
