I love replying to sensible debates like yours. Yes we all agree Vikram's lie of Rewa being alive was his biggest mistake and it has ruined him. That one fact being hidden was a mistake he has paid with his life. The rift between Mother and daughter was created by Gulabiya she was the one who had asked Sugni to choose between Vikram and her and if you go back to that particular episode you will see that on the way back Vikram stops at the very temple and informs Sugni that he is very upset with this rift between Mother and daughter he also asks her what she will do if Rewa is alive and she says she will kill herself. Though till date sh hasn't done that but he could not take a chance. As for locking Sugni's Mom our dear dear CVs still haven't shown who did it coz Vikram was at the Haveli with Sugni when it happened and his man who was guarding the place had shooed Gulabiya away so it could not be him. They also haven't shown who Sugni's Mama was talking to that night at the haveli.
Vikram was to divorce Rewa and then marry Sugni so he had stayed away from her and given her time to think but she pushed him into doing what he did by putting herself up for Sardhakai. Yes i agree with you no mother would ever want her child being a mistress but we are speaking about the Bedni tribe where every Bedni has to prostitute herself to feed her family so if given the option of selling herself to different Thakurs every other night or instead being only Vikram's second wife i think a mother would go for her daughter being a second wife than prostitution every night. Yes we all know she had the option of leaving the village which she did not take. But not all Bednis are gutsy enough to take that option.
Vikram and Sugni's love was very clean and precious to them but the CVs butchered the whole thing even if they wanted her to marry someone else it would have been ok if they got an outsider but his own nephew living under his nose is not right.
