He opened his eyes and fresh layer of tears appeared in his eyes!!! even after this..how can he just accept anyone in his life?

Geet just lay on her bed..dia and namra were fast asleep! She kept staring at the ceiling aimlessly…. Just a signature and everything changed between them..and the saddest part..she can't even tell him what she felt!!!!

The next morning dia and namra had to resume school! Geet got them ready and walked them towards the dining table. Maan just walked down the stairs and her eyes instinctively raised higher….and she just felt her eyes stuck there! She tried to avoid but for some reasons he couldn't!! he was all set to leave for office!!!

Namra: angel….hum late ho rahe hain…

[angel we are getting late…]

She was brought back to reality and poured milk in their glasses..bu her eyes followed Maan who went and sat on the couch. Dadima deliberately stayed away from breakfast table being frustrated with their formalities! She wanted them to interact and talk properly at least! She stood behind the pillar near the stairs and kept watching them. she had waited long enough for them to start talking themselves but when they didn't..she finally played her cards.

Geet looked at Maan not having breakfast… he was to drop dia and namra at their school. she wondered if she should ask him or not…. She wished if Dadima was there..! she could have asked him!! sigh… she again looked at him from the corner of her eyes..he was on a call perhaps!! Arrghhh what was happening with her….if you forget about their marriage..they are still friends right! then why was it so damn difficult?

Dadima rolled her eyes…uff what was taking her this long to go to Maan!!! Just then she saw Maan on a call. Namra pulled her dupatta..

"angel..papa ko bulao warna call khatam ni hoga…"

[angel call papa..or else his call won't get over..]

Geet looked here and there….and she hated it! They are still friends right! anyways she was going mad for the past few days…she took a deep breath in and walked to him! She stopped right behind him and poked her finger on his shoulder! Maan turned back with questioning eyes and she forgot her words!!!

"kyaa baat hain geet..?"

[what happened geet?]

"b..wo…wo…i…", she just turned around and spoke to herself, "geet..tujhe baat karne mein itni takleef kab se hone lagi?"

[geet…since when did you start having problems while speaking?]

"kuch kaha tumne?'

[did you say anything?]

She sighed and closed her eyes, "tum wo… mein keh rahi thi ke wo..tum breakfast kar lo…."

[you..wo…I was just saying…. Wo..you have your breakfast..]

He picked up his files, "umm no..i have an important meeting…"

He turned towards dia and namra, "you both finish your breakfast and come fast. Am waiting in the car!"

And he just walked off. Geet sighed..probably it wasn't a good idea to speak to him…but she really wanted him to get back to his old self! It was tough for her too. She sighed sadly and went to dia and namra. Dadima smiled..at least they talked…be it a sentence!!! Geet made dia and namra sit in the car and it zoomed away…he didn't even turn back to look at her! and she couldn't have helped it either.

She walked inside with heavy steps when Dadima stopped her!!!

"aapne bahut achi koshish ki geet…"

[you tried really well geet..]

She smiled at geet. Geet gave a weak smile, "he didn't have breakfast Dadima…"

Dadima rolled her eyes, "he never does geet..its rare to see him on breakfast table.."

"why? Itna kaam hain kya usey?"

[why? Does he have so much work?]

"work ka tho pata nahi..but he has really become very careless…"

[don't know about work..but he has really become careless]

Geet dare not go into his room again. But she actually got bored. Being in KM had actually been influencing her "gundi" side…and with naughty dia and namra around…it was becoming difficult for her to hold on to her fake mask! It was as if her childhood was calling her back…she wanted to break free and shout out like she used to… but events of the past just kept playing in her mind and she just stopped herself. Dadima knew geet a little too well and she wanted geet to break that wall she had built around her heart! She sat quietly on the couch..wondering what to do! Dadima peeped out from the magazine she was reading and sighed!!! She had to do something.

Dadima: geet..beta if you are getting bored…you can do something…

Geet being geet just blurted out, "mein kya karoon Dadima..kitni bore ho rahi hoon…"

[what do I do Dadima..am getting bored!]

She realized what she had said and bit her tongue!

"wo…Dadima..mera matlab tha..i.."

[wo..dadima..i mean… i..]

Dadima laughed, "rehne dijiye geet…. You cant hide your real self..at least not from us!!! You wanna do something?"

[let it be geet… you can't hide your real self..at least not from us!!! You wanna do something?]

Usually the whole week dia and namra were with geet..so she never realized how quickly her time went by but with dia and namra at school..she felt her time go really really slow!!!

She looked here and there and saw nakul walking into the kitchen with a basket full of vegetables. An idea struck her and she stood up with a start!

"Dadima..aaj mein khana banaoon?"

[Dadima..shall i cook today?]

Ohh..that was a bliss for Dadima! Her new bahu was making food for the 1^st time….but she kept her thought to herself. Given the conditions they were married..dadima didn't think it was right to follow any rituals. But jab kuan khud pyaase ke paas chal kar aa rha hain tho pyaase ke maze hi maze!!!!!

Dadima didn't say anything. She just let her do anything she wanted!!! She even controlled her smile!! And the best part was Maan was coming home for lunch! Ahh Dadima couldn't thank god enough! Maan usually doesn't come but he has a long meeting before lunch. So he'll be back in the afternoon and then go to the office! Dadima's dil was all garden garden throughout.

Geet tied her dupatta around her waist and marched into the kitchen. Nakul had white hair on his head now. She snatched the knife from him and gave him a wide smile.

"nakul kaka..aap tho aaj rehne hi do…aaj mein khana banaoongi.."

[nakul kaka..you leave it… I'll cook today!]

Nakul looked at her wide eyes, "par geet baby… aapko khana banana aata hain?'

[but geet baby…you know how to cook?]

Geet was a very bad cook…actually!! Jasmeet was always worried about her marriage. Jasmeet tried to teach her the basics but madam's mind was always busy in planning some mischief..and she irritated Jasmeet so much that poor mom actually gave up teaching. But anyways 5 years are enough to bring changes!!

Geet gave him a sweet smile, "geet baby abhi badi ho gayi hain nakul kaka…."

[geet baby has grown up now nakul kaka..]

Poor nakul got confused. He was reminded of Anisha madam, as he used to address her! she was not too friendly with the servants..though she was good at heart but there was always a superior feeling in her, especially with the servants…thanks to her royal upbringing. she hardly talked to them like geet does…! And he was actually glad that geet was back… she was actually the life of KM.

"waise nakul kaka… bachon ki favorite dish kya hain?"

[by the way nakul kaka..whats the favorite dish of the kids?]

"unhe tho zyada bahar ka khana hi pasand hain..burger, pizzas, noodles…aur isiliye ghar ka khana zyada nahi khaati.."

[they mostly like outside foods like burger, pizzas, noodles..and they don't like home made food.]

Geet: umm…theek hain..then I'll make something tasty and healthy…

She started her preparations…chatting with nakul, instructing him to get her things and she didn't even let him touch the pan. Dadima just kept an eye on her...grinning at her chalupanti!

It was around 12:30 when geet put the dishes on the table…finally finishing with all the dishes!!! Dadima could smell that yummy aroma that surrounded the hall. She was super excited to see dia and namra's reaction. She had prepared fried rice with chicken curry…full desi types! She proudly put her hands on her waist and turned around in a jerk, "wah geet…you are awesome.."

And that's when her eyes fell on Maan entering the hall, speaking on a phone!!! Her smile vanished instantly. Oh god..he wasn't supposed to come back for lunch right??? she actually didn't expect him to come. Maan looked at her…she looked weird wearing that dupatta like that. he twichted his brows and walked ahead!

Her excitement died…gosh…it was sooo awkward!! She straightened her dupatta and sat on the couch..waiting for dia and namra. She heard Maan speak to nakul, "nakul..mera lunch lagwa do…"

[nakul set my lunch]

Geet got alert…he was going to have lunch too??? She gulped hard…it was almost 10 days since she had come and she had never seen him at lunch time. And she had cooked today too..gosh..what will he think? She was geeting self conscious for no reason and that when she saw dia entering holding namra's hand and pulling her in. Maan came downstairs and stood beside her..wondering what happened to namra. She was crying loudly and little dia was trying to console her.

Dia: namla..nai lote…you aal good gal no….shhh nai …

[namra..don't cry.. you are good girl no… shh…no….]

Maan and geet ran to them and bent down to them. Maan cupped namra's cheeks!

"kya hua beta..why are you crying?"

[what happened beta…why are you crying?]

Namra replied nothing…and cried louder. Maan looked at dia.

"wo papa..ishki fliend ne ishko tease kiya…"

[wo papa..her friend teased her…]

Maan: tell me princess…who teased you?

Namra was not able to speak due to her incessant crying, "sob..wo..papa….boys…class…"

Geet held namra's hand and pulled her closer, wiping her tears, "pehle rona band karo..aur batao kya chidhaya tummhe….namra tho meri bahadur bachi hain na..aur wo kabhi nahi roti.."

[First stop crying and tell me what did they tease you..namra is my strong baby no… and she never cries too]

Dia brought a glass of water for her sister and offered namra. Geet smiled and helped namra drink the water. Namra stopped crying but she was sobbing badly.

Geet: chalo batao mujhe…kisne meri beti ko rulaya…uski tho aaj khair nahi…

[now tell me… who made my daughter cry…I wont spare him today..]

Namra: sob papa…angel..wo sob..class boys…they teased me….

Maan: aur kya kaha un sabne?

[and what did they say?]

Namra was again on the verge of crying. Her eyes filled with tears.

Namra: meko..sob meko..NAMRANU-SAURUS KITANU MAGENT bulaya..

[they..they called me NAMRANU-SAURUS KITANU (germ) MAGNET]

Maan held her laughter and stood up, letting geet handle that. he knew if he laughed namra will start crying again!! But gete looked serious.

"what? Namranusaurus kitanu magnet????"

Dia offered, "wo tv pe ad aata hai..aquaguard ka.."

[wo theres an ad on tv..that aquaguard one..]

Namra started crying again and hugged geet tightly, "meko sabne tease kiya angel…."

[everyone teased me angel..]

Geet was furious. She cocooned namra in her arms and spat, "haiye rabba… meri bachi ko aisa chidhaya..abhi batati hoon usey..namra..beta number hain aapke paas uss ladke ka?'

[haiyee rabba… they teased my baby like this… wait I'll show them..manra beta do you have that boy's phone number?]

Namra nodded and took out her diary where she had written his phone number. Geet marched angrily towards the phone and before she could dial the number, Maan snatched it away. He felt that absolutely stupid.

"geet..what are you doing? itni choti baat pe koi aise phone karta hain kya?"

[geet… what are you doing? does anyone call like this on such a small matter?]

Geet fumed, "phir meri bachi ko aisa kyun chidhaya…abhi uss ladke ki khabar leti hoon…."

[then why did he tease my baby like that…I'll give a nice one now..]

She tried to reach for the phone but Maan moved aweay!

"geet..geet,…relax..ye bachon ke aapas ka maamla hain.. we shouldn't interfere…"

[geet..geet..relax..its their own matter…let us not interfere..]

Geet was nowhere near listening but then Dadima also supported Maan so she finally put that thought aside! She made a grumpy face and went towards the dining table.

"go freshen up and sit for lunch"

Everyone sat for lunch while geet served! Namra was delighted to see the food..she loved chicken..and she instantly forgot all about her school. geet was still mad at that thing and sat quietly helping dia to eat. Occasionally she helped Maan and Dadima with their helpings when Maan said, "wao Dadima..aaj kitne dino baad khana bahut acha bana hain..whats so special today?"

[wao..dadima…. food had come out really tasty after a ong time… whats so special today?]

Daidma amiled , "nothing special..aaj tho khana humari geet ne banaya hain…"

[nothing special..today's lunch is cooked by geet]

Maan stopped right there…. Ohh boy..geet cooked that????

"what?? Geet and cooking?"

Geet shot him a glare..she was already mad at him for not letting her call that boy and take his class!

Dadima: yeah of..

Before she could continue geet shouted, 'kyun..tumhe koi problem hain?"

[why..do you have any problem?]

Maan realized she was still mad at him for that phone call thing! He tried to rub it in!

"nahi..problem nahi hain..i was actually shocked for a while…actually I was wondering why didn't i run for the hospital yet?"

"Maan…. Stop it.."

"no seriously yaar… geet and cooking,… doesn't sound nice..are you sure ye tumne hi banaya hain?"

[no seriously yaar… geet and cooking… doesn't sound nice… are you sure that you have made all this?]

Geet was so so so damn angry…!!!

"Maan..you are so dead today…."

Maan laughed seeing her that angry. Dadima didn't say anything. She just enjoyed the scene in front of her!!!

"come on yaar…am still alive and eating your food…."

And he started laughing!! Dadima tuned to look at him…. OMG he was actually laughing!!!! After so many days..he was laughing!! Geet was ready to throw the plate on him..but his laughter caught her attention..and her anger vanished in a second!!! She just looked at him..awed with his personality…..she tried to hold on to her angry expressions yet she melted from inside!!! She slowly kept the plat down and sat beside dia, looking away!!!!

Maan looked at her, facing away and stopped laughing..thinking that she was still mad at him!

"geet… naraz mat ho yaar…khana kaafi acha bana hain…"

[geet don't get mad yaar..the food is really nice..]

Geet suppressed her smile and turned to look at him, still trying to look sten!

"tummhe khana hain tho khao…warna go fend for yourself!", she managed to speak sternly!

[if you want to eat then eat or else go fend for yourself]
