Chapter 52
Khushi had to push Arnav off slightly while they were still in that position. Arnav felt her resisting and backed off.
Arnav: Something wrong?
Khushi: No….ummm…yes….Arnav you haven't eaten yet.
Arnav couldn't help but smile at Khushi as all she thought about was him and his wellbeing. He moved away and was about to start eating when Khushi stopped him.
Khushi: Wait the food could be cold now. Let's go back down and I will heat up the food and then we can eat.
Arnav: Wait? We? Does that mean you that you haven't eaten as well?
Khushi: No.
Arnav in a slightly angry tone: Khushi if I don't eat doesn't mean you shouldn't either.
Khushi turned to look at him.
Khushi in the same angry tone: Well you shouldn't have left the dining table.
Arnav: You wouldn't listen to me.
Khushi: As though you listen to me.
Arnav: Khushi.
Khushi: Arnav.
Arnav just looked at Khushi and in a fit of rage just kissed her like never before. All the angry, hurt and pain he felt in that one moment soon turned to unbinding passion. Khushi was first shocked at Arnav's reaction but soon responded to the kiss herself. Arnav hands were cupping Khushi's face while Khushi's hands were on his chest. She had to push him back slightly but Arnav didn't back off easily this time so Khushi just gave in. After a while Arnav himself backed off and touched his forehead against hers as both their breathing came back to normal. Arnav then got up from the recliner. He turned and looked at Khushi.
Arnav: Come on let's go. I'm starving.
With that Khushi picked up the tray and they headed back downstairs.
Once they got downstairs no one was there so Khushi moved to the kitchen but instead of Arnav going to the dining table he followed Khushi to the kitchen. While she moved around and started re-heating the food Arnav just stood near the door with his arms folded in front of his chest just watching his wife move around while he had a smirk on his face. While she was near the cooker just happily cooking away Arnav walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist while placing his head on her shoulder. At first Khushi closed her eyes feeling him so close but couldn't help but smile. She opened her eyes again and carried on cooking still smiling. Arnav couldn't help but feel content in this one moment.
Once Khushi had finished she tried to move away but Arnav didn't allow her.
Khushi: Arnav please let me go. I have to make our plates.
Arnav didn't listen to her just stood there.
Khushi: Arnav aren't you hungry because I know I am.
As soon as Khushi said this Arnav moved back and Khushi go to work. She moved outside with the plates and Arnav actually helped her which surprised Khushi.
Khushi: Arnav I can do that. Leave it.
Arnav: What the….? I can't help once in a while.
Khushi just looked at him when they were at the dining table with her mouth open in perfect shaped 'o'. Arnav just looked at her and smirked.
Pretty soon they were sitting down and eating.
Once they had finished they Khushi cleaned everything up while again Arnav helped and once she had finished they both headed back to their room for sleep.
The next day went pretty quick.
NK had managed to get into Shyam and Anjali's room but only after he had seen both Anjali and Shyam leave and that was only after breakfast when Shyam had left for the office and Anjali had gone to the temple. NK had searched the whole room for the file but couldn't find the specific file Arnav had told him about. So he left the room but as he left he bumped into his masi. NK looked at his masi and was scared.
Manorama: Are Nk babua. What izz you doing coming from Anjali bitiya's room?
NK:Ummm… Nothing masiji.
Manorama: Nk babua you izz lying. What were you doing coming out of Anjali bitiya's room?
Nk was really scared. Now what he thought.
NK: Oh masiji. I was…..was playing.
Manorama: Playing what?
NK: Hide and seek masiji.
Manorama: Hidewa and seekwa? What izz that?
NK: Oh masiji. It's a game where a person hides and the other seeks them out. It's fun.
Manorama: Really? Whoz you playing with?
NK: HP.
Manorama: What? HP? But I just seen him in the kitchen.
NK: Thank you masiji. I was looking for him.
Saying that NK walked away as Manorama called out to him but NK didn't listen as he didn't want to be interrogated anymore.
Manorama saw the speed NK walked away and got suspicious. Hmmm! NK babua izz lying. Manorama bond has to inbestigate she thought while nodded her head looking in the direction NK had disappeared.
Later on NK had let Arnav know he wasn't able to find the files in Shyam and Anjali's room which Arnav already suspected. So now all Arnav needed to do was wait for teej so the PI team could get into Shyam's office.
The morning of teej Payal, Khushi and Anjali were up early to do the morning prayers so they could start the day well.
Arnav knew Khushi well enough and also knew that she would do this fast whether he wanted her to or not but that still didn't stop him from telling her not to again which he did when she came into the room.
Arnav: Khushi are you still doing this fast.
Khushi: Arnav you know I want to do this.
Arnav: Fine. I have an early meeting. I'll have breakfast at work.
He left in from his room picking his coat and bag on the way and left his room leaving Khushi who was slightly upset that Arnav was upset with her but she was determined to do this fast.
As Arnav was leaving Anjali called out to him.
Anjali: Chote. Are you not having any breakfast?
Arnav: No di. I'll have it at work.
Anjali: You're going to work? Today? You know it is Khushiji's first teej since you've both got married.
Arnav just gave his sister a not now look.
Anjali teasing tone: Oh yes I forgot. She did her first fast last year which was broken by you.
Arnav: Di please.
Anjali giggling: Ok… Ok… Chote. Listen when you get a chance today and I do mean you yourself not one of your staff members will need to go and get Khushiji some gifts.
Arnav: Gifts? What gifts?
Anjali: Chote it is a wonder how you got married.
Arnav just looked at his sister wide-eyed.
Anjali: You have to go and buy Khushiji all the items given to a bride. A saree, bangles, jewellery, bindi's and another small box of sindoor.
Arnav: What the….? Di I have to go and get these things?
Anjali: Chote yes you have to. Akash is getting them for Payal…..
Akash heard his name and walked over towards Arnav and Anjali.
Akash: And jijaji is getting them for Di.
Akash came over and put his hands Anjali's shoulder while Anjali just blushed and smiled while Arnav was trying to control his temper hearing Shyam's name.
Arnav: Fine I'll go get them. I have to go.
Saying this Arnav turned and walked out of the house. Akash and Anjali just looked at each other and went and carried on with their work.
Arnav's meeting was finished in two hours when his phone rang and it was Mr Singh informing Arnav about what was found in Shyam's office. Arnav found out that his will was indeed in the safe in Shyam's office plus another file containing Anjali's signature which was also a will.
Mr Singh: Mr Raizada the second will gives all your property to in the name of Shyam Manohar Jha. According to the second will if anything happens to your sister all her property goes to her husband.
Arnav suddenly felt like his whole world had come crashing down as the whole picture dawned on him on what was going to happen. In that one moment he really wanted to kill Shyam which by his silence Mr Singh had recognized.
Mr Singh: Mr Raizada I know what may be going through your mind.
Arnav very angry: HOW COULD YOU KNOW? NOBODY KNOWS.
Mr Singh had to move the phone away from his ear as he heard Arnav shout down the phone but he knew he needed to get his client to calm down if they were to get more proof against Shyam so Arnav could legally get him out of their lives.
Mr Singh: Mr Raizada you have to calm down and think about this. If you want your brother-in-law out of your life you need proof against him. This could give you your proof if used wisely.
Arnav at first wasn't listening but as Mr Singh carried on talking he slowly calmed down as he heard how this whole thing could get Shyam out of his di's life once and for all. As Mr Singh carried on talking it was as a plan was forming in Arnav's head.
Arnav: Mr Singh I need you to do another thing. I need one of your men to get my real will out of Shyam's office and replace it with a fake one.
Mr Singh: Mr Raizada I don't think it can be done that quick.
Arnav: Mr Singh all I said was that you need to replace the file not make another fake one. I actually have a fake one. Give me an hour and I will go get it.
Arnav clicked his phone off and headed home.
When he got home he was lucky that only no Shyam or Akash were at home.
Everyone else saw him come home.
Anjali: Oh Chote your home. Where are Khushi's gifts?
Arnav: Di I haven't had time yet. I have something to do first.
Anjali: Chote what could be more important than today.
Arnav: Di please I have something important to do with work.
He left to head to his room leaving everyone flabbergasted.
Arnav got to his room opened his safe, got the fake will out put it into his laptop bag, locked his locker and was about to leave when he turned to see Khushi in front of him.
Khushi: Arnav are you ok?
Arnav walked over to Khushi and cupped her cheek with his free hand.
Arnav: I'm ok. Are you all heading to the temple?
Khushi: We will be in a while.
Arnav: Ok. Good. I will meet you all there then.
Saying this he kissed her forehead and left from there.
Instead of going to the office he went straight to the PI's office and gave them the file.
Shyam and Akash had gotten back home and everyone headed out to get items for the evening's pooja. Khushi, Payal and Anjali wanted to also go to the sacred tree where all of them were last year but this year was extra special for Khushi and Payal as not only were they married but they both wanted to do all these rituals as they were in love. Khushi however felt a bit upset that Arnav was not around.
They got to the place and they all got out. Khushi and Payal headed to get the items for their thali's and taking Anjali's with them. Khushi got a phone call from Arnav. She gave the thali's to the shop keeper and picked up her phone.
Arnav: Khushi I thought you're supposed to wearing a saree today not your usual anarkali?
Khushi: Arnav where are you? Wait a minute how do you know what I'm wearing?
Arnav walked up right behind her.
Arnav: I know everything about you.
Khushi heard him and suddenly turned almost tripping but was caught in Arnav's strong arms.
Rabba ve moment.
They had an eye-lock only to be brought back to reality by Payal who coughed slightly bringing them out of their trance.
As soon as the thali's were done Arnav actually helped carry one to the rest of the family and gave it to his di knowing full well it was hers.
Anjali: Chote? You're here?
Arnav: Yes Di.
Anjali: Did you bring what I asked.
Arnav: Not yet. I thought I would meet you all here then go and get them before we all head to temple this evening.
Anjali teasing: Did you come to see all of us or someone specific? And when did you decide to come to the temple with us? You never just say you are coming. I always have to convince you to come with me.
The whole time Anjali was looking between Arnav and Khushi. While Khushi was blushing Arnav just gave his di a don't tease look. Everyone else except Shyam and mami where trying hard not to laugh. Anjali couldn't help but giggle at her brother's reaction.
Anjali: Ok. Ok let's get on with this.
Khushi, Payal and Anjali moved towards the tree and started their pooja. Khushi, Arnav, Payal and Akash were remembering what had happened the year before. All the memories coming back, Arnav and Khushi bumping into each other where her thali flew out of her hand, Arnav catching her but all the of the kumkum on the thali falling on them, Akash seeing Payal and watching her do the pooja and Arnav seeing Khushi as she finished her pooja. Arnav couldn't help but smirk at the way they had bumped into each other while he was admiring his wife do the pooja. Khushi could feel his eyes on her and had a smile on her face as she tied a string around the others strings going around the tree. Payal and Anjali were doing exactly the same but as Akash was looking at Payal Shyam was busy looking at Khushi which Arnav saw so he moved in her direction and in such a way that Shyam could not see her pissing Shyam off but Arnav didn't care.
After the pooja Arnav went off to get the gifts while everyone else went home to go get changed for the evening pooja.
In the evening Arnav had got back but was told not to give Khushi her things until after the pooja is over.
Both Arnav and Akash had to take their cars to allow everyone to come along.
Once they reached the temple Khushi already wasn't feeling well again which Arnav could see and it was making him mad.
Arnav: I told you not to do this pooja Khushi.
Khushi: And I told you I wanted to do it.
Anjali heard them and thought there they go again. She walked up towards them.
Anjali: Will you two at least for today stop.
Both Arnav and Khushi looked at Anjali and stopped. They all started to go up the stairs but as they were walking Khushi was starting to feel slightly dizzy but as Arnav was just behind her he grabbed hold of her shoulders and shock her a little to bring her back a little. He then held her thali just so it would not fall while Khushi tilted her head towards him. While Arnav was looking like he was going to have to have another go at her just looking into Khushi's beautiful eyes made him forget that he was even mad at her. They both then walked up together with Arnav making sure she didn't faint again. He wanted to go get her some water but she refused to have any which made him angrier at her but she just walked towards the temple to do the pooja.
Once everyone was inside Arnav wanted this pooja over and done with so they could all go home.
It wasn't until half an hour later when they had finished the pooja.
Khushi walked up to Arnav who after last year knew what to do. He took the lota with water and made her drink it, then took the prasad of her plate and fed her while the whole time they both just looked at each other. Khushi just smiled after they had finished. Arnav then went back to the car to go get Khushi's present. He got her gifts and was heading back to the temple when he started to feel a bit dizzy and he realised he hadn't eaten all day. All though it was unknowingly but he had forgotten to eat with everything that was going on. As he got towards the temple he got to the bench and sat down shaking his head trying to clear his head. Khushi who was waiting for him went out towards the car when she saw him on the bench and walked over to him as she could see he wasn't feeling well.
Khushi: Arnav what's wrong?
Arnav: Khushi give me something sweet.
Khushi suddenly guessed at what could have happened. She took the prasad from her thali and fed him.
Khushi: Arnav did you forget to have your medicine again?
Arnav: Khushi I haven't eaten anything.
Khushi: WHAT? How could you be so careless with your health? You know if you don't eat and don't take your medicine it is bad for you.
Arnav just watched Khushi blabber on while she just fed him more and more but he grabbed her hand to stop her making her stop talking and look at him.
Arnav: Well I guess we have one thing in common. If either of us doesn't eat we both faint.
Khushi looked at him and slowly they both started smiling just looking at each other.
