See its not that he's forcing her. He knows what happens to her when she loses an important competition like this. Remember Footloose? And she cant even stand the thought of losing. So he's encouraging her to give her best. he's not letting her forget her goal. She's already been through so much in the past 2 months that she might've been even more prone to thoughts of failure, thats why swayam made her promise so that she wont lose her inspiration and focus on winning, not on the thoughts of losing. He always wants the best for his Sharon :)
