Before, I start this chapter just a small note. Nausheen Ali Sardar is cast as Neelam Singhania(Khushi's mother and Akash's foster-mother)

I am very sorry for not introducing the character properly before...and now we would come across Khushi's relationship with her mother before and after four years.

also...we will get a glimpse of Khushi's papa here( sorry I don't know his name). can anyone please tell me his name?

CHAPTER TWELVE:
DISTRESS AND MESS

Anjali tried to understand her.

Anjali: Chotte has some business meeting so he will join us later.

Khushi just gave a nod and smile.

Though Anjali said Arnav will join them she was least confident about it. Khushi knew Arnav has started drifting apart miles from her. And the reason behind it? None knows better than her and she had to mend it anyhow before it is too late.

It was a private jet of Akash in which they came in India. The whole long way Anjali and Khushi chatted mainly about Shalmali.

Though, Khushi wanted to know about Arnav, Anjali avoided it and went back to talk about her daughter. Anjali knew Khushi had already got pain and now by revealing Arnav's pain and suffering she would only increase her guilt.

She is already overburdened in remorse and shame. She doesn't want to add more misery in her lovely Khushi's life.

City- DELHI

On returning India they heard Shashi Gupta's treatment is going on and is in a stable condition now. Akash had been informed by his mother-in-law Garima that she had not said anything about Shashi Gupta to anyone in Singhania Palace because of Payal's condition. Aman had returned and he will take enough care.

City- DELHI

Location- SINGHANIA PALACE

Khushi and Akash entered the household.

Akash returned after a month whereas Khushi's comeback was after almost 4 years.

After so many years nothing has changed in this household. All are same. Only she has changed. Her life has changed.

Payal did aarti. She entered the house. The same very smell, the same ambience, everything is same but there is something missing also amidst all these.

Khushi'.

Khushi looked straight hearing the voice.

Khushi: Maa'

Khushi's mother Neelam was standing there waiting for her. Now the missing part got filled.

Neelam: Khushi.

Khushi: Maa. I had come back Maa. Maa you were right. You were right. I should have listened to you.

She started crying and hugged her mother.

Both were full of tears. This was not just another re-union of a mother and daughter. It was like her daughter had died and in a miraculous way she became alive. It was a very emotional moment for everyone. Khushi had cried many times, but like this way, it was after many years she had cried in happiness. She felt a solace being united with her mother. Her injured heart got some relief in her mother's presence. Neelam also felt relieved as if the spell has its effect over and her daughter's cursed life is over.

Neelam: Khushi please don't do anything reckless anymore. All of us had suffered. And among us, you had suffered the most. I wish you had listened to me earlier. I had listened to all your words and let you do what everyone was against of and you then broke your own dreams and trampled your own dreams forgetting everything what you had faced earlier for your dream to get fulfilled. I know you are not in that condition and now you have realised but if you had pay heed to my advice you need not to see this day.

Akash: Maa, please.

Neelam: hmm. Okay Khushi. Go and rest. I will talk to you later about it. Just keep in mind one thing. Whatever happens in this world your mother will be at your side and would try to support you.

Khushi went away. She knew her mother was right. She told her mother about her love her Arnav. She told her how much she loved him. It was her mother only who supported her all through in her ups and downs and it was her mother only who made the impossible into possible.

#### FLASHBACK ####

This incident was after she came back from Nainital.

Akash was enraged with both Shyam and Anjali for hiding the truth and let Khushi go with Arnav. She came back Mumbai and within a week she came to know that Akash had come to know everything.

She was almost dragged by Akash in the car to go home from airport. He had been constantly shouting at the top of his voice while driving. He still didn't know that his sister was no more unblemished. If he knew he would have killed her instantly. The Singhanias had a great pride and honour for being one of the most reputed and noble families of Delhi.

They came home.

She got white in fear facing her mother. She was at her sternest form. She looked at Khushi with piercing looks. Khushi knew it very well that her mother had make sense of what she was up to. She knew she could not escape her mother's eyes. The thing which Akash being a man didn't get the picture their mother had figure out at a single glimpse and has got even angrier.

Khushi: Maa.

A tight slap she got in her face.

Khushi thought, "confirmed. She had understood. Hey Devi Maiyya, what will I say her now? How could I tell her what I had done in Nainital! Now I realize why Arnav was backing. He knew what consequences I had to face. How stupid I was! I thought he didn't love me. He loved me and so he tried to"

Khushi: Ouch!

Her hand was hold tightly.

Neelam pulled her hand and took her away in her bedroom and throw her on bed.

Neelam's eyes were burning in fury.

Neelam: What is this Khushi?

Khushi: Maa'I'I

Khushi gulped in fear expecting another slap.

But what she heard she felt uncountable slaps from her mother would not be such painful.

Neelam: do you know what Akash has done? He has fixed your marriage with Armaan.

Khushi: '.no'no'(she started crying in agony)

Neelam: think what will your condition be after Akash and your papa comes to know about you and your deeds. What made you do such a cheap work Khushi?

You belonged to a reputed family. Everything has a limit Khushi. Some things are unforgivable Khushi. Do you have any idea about your inheritance, our family's reputation, social importance? How could you do that? What thoughtlessness of yours do I have to see more? Khushi you ran twice from home and I forgive you. You did modelling which was a strict no-no in our house. You broke all rules and I had forgiven you till now. I tolerated thinking you were immature. But this is unpardonable. Love and insanity is not the same thing Khushi. Do you have any idea of the consequences? Let me remind you one more thing. Modelling and losing chastity is not the same thing Khushi.

Saying this, she left the room.

Khushi looked at her mother's disappearing figure with disbelief and bewilderment.

Khushi cried and cried.

Akash entered,

Akash: your marriage is fixed. Armaan's family will come today at evening with shagun. Be prepared to start your life with Armaan.

Khushi: bhaiyya please don't do this bhaiyya. Please I can't marry him. I love Arnav.

Akash: if you take that b*****d's name once more I will kill him.

A thunder like voice came.

Khushi's father Mr. Singhania said" Akash. If you can't give respect to someone don't give, but don't disrespect also. Then what is the difference between you and an uncivilised person?"

Akash: sorry papa.

He glared at Khushi. He left the room with his father. He locked the door so that Khushi and his mother can't talk.

Few minutes later, the door opened.

Khushi wished if it was her mother or at least some miracle happens and Arnav comes and saves her from this mess.

But, miracles happens only in fairy tales. Not in real life'.

It was no other than her brother who has now been the biggest foe of her love-life.

Akash: here are your clothes and jewellery Maa has send. Wear them and get ready in two hours and also think what you will do.

You are given only two hours to decide. Either your marriage will occur or Arnav will be dead.

Khushi: bhaiyya'''.enough''.if he comes to know''then'.

Akash: Dare not to tell him even about it.

He confiscated the cell phone from Khushi and locked the room again.

After few hours the whole scenario in Singhania Palace was turned upside down.

Armaan's family was forbidden by Akash to come with shagun.

Akash had to cancel all ceremonial preparations for Khushi's recklessness.

The Singhanias rushed to hospital taking Khushi. Khushi had slashed her wrist after writing Arnav's name in her hand with a blade.

At hospital,

Doctor: There was a great loss of blood but she is finally out of danger now. Please do the formalities now. Also this was an attempt to suicide, so some law procedures may be needed.

Akash: Yes, doctor.

Neelam: are you happy now by imposing your authority? I warned you before. Akash, there is still time. Call off this marriage. You will ruin not only your sister's life but also two other men who are related to her.

Akash: Maa, I had listened to you always. But Khushi need to be tamed now.

A nurse came and said," Ms. Singhania is asking for her mother."

Neelam came in the cabin.

Khushi: Maa how come you know about my''my

Neelam with an irritating look, said

"Now don't ask me how I understand. I am getting mad with your deeds Khushi. No normal person would do this being aware of the circumstances that you have done."

Khushi: Maa'(she hugs her mother and cries). I am sorry Maa. I was afraid. I got afraid at bhaiyya's proposal.

Neelam: look at me. Stop crying. Be a brave girl. Tell me what has he said?

Khushi: he said'that either my marriage or Arnav's funeral (she starts crying saying the last two words and Neelam doesn't stop her this time understanding her feelings.)

Neelam: so you thought of committing suicide? How could you?

Khushi: I didn't have a choice. I love Arnav Maa. I love him. I can die for him; I cannot let anyone allow taking his position.

Neelam: but what would have happened to you? Didn't you think for any of us other than Arnav? Didn't you think about your bhaiyya?

Khushi: I am sorry Maa. Bhaiyya it was for whom I had to do so. I can't choose between bhaiyya and Arnav.

Neelam: Akash had been shocked. He has postponed everything for a while for your health's sake.

Khushi: I know bhaiyya. At least he will be quiet for a week now. Maa, please. Please help me. Save your daughter's life Maa.

Neelam: I have to. I can't let three lives to suffer.

Khushi: three?

Neelam: Armaan, Arnav and yours.

Khushi: Ohh (her mind started working and also worrying after hearing three lives, she thought something else'not Armaan)

Neelam: I am really worried with such insanity of yours. I really wonder about Arnav. I want to ask you some questions and answer me properly.

Khushi: yes Maa. I will properly answer. But Maa'

Neelam: what "but"?

Khushi: Maa what will happen if'

Khushi: Maa'(crying) Maa'your daughter is no more virtuous '(she covers her face and cries)

Neelam (hugs Khushi): don't say'.sshhh'.Khushi'.sshh'.don't utter a word'.just tell me will Arnav marry you?

Khushi (she broke the hug): of course Maa.

Neelam: when?

Khushi kept quiet. He hadn't said her any exact time.

Neelam: when? I asked you when he is planning to get married to you.

Khushi: umm'after his reconciliation with bhaiyya. He wants Shamu Bhai to talk with Akash.

Neelam: Shyam knew about this?

Khushi: Anjali di also knew.

Neelam: what?? So this thing is a long time affair?

Khushi (felt guilty and nods): I am sorry Maa. I thought of telling you but every time something happened and it was no more the same situation in which I can tell you.

Neelam: hmm'now the most important question will you be happy?

Khushi looks at her mother stupidly.

Neelam: do you love Arnav very much? Will you be happy with him forever?

Khushi: yes'.there is no doubt with it. But I couldn't take in why are you asking these now?

Neelam: there are reasons. But do you know one thing?

Khushi: what?

Neelam: I will be happier to see you getting married to Arnav than Armaan. Armaan is not a good person. I know you will think what made me think well about Arnav after such misdeed. It is not specifically about Arnav or Armaan, but the families from where they belong. I will make Akash agree. Tell Arnav to contact Akash by next week before it is too late.]
