How long one waits for love to reciprocate?

Well, we all know Pankhuri and Adi are the leads in the soap who are bound to get married. Latika is a calculative and selfish person etc. etc. But Pankhuri is not aware of what Latika is, right? Then why she still tries to be near Adi all the time? She might not have defined it as love, but she is definitely aware of her feelings towards Adi from the first day. Yet she does not mind staying in Adi's house, happy to dance with Adi whenever she gets a chance, despite the fact he is getting married in few days. If she was not the lead, we would not have liked this behavior (Shivam, for example).

I know it is just a daily soap. But still asking the question. If we know our love is not going to be reciprocated, will we still hang around? If one does, what is the reason? A tiny ray of hope that other person will change their mind? (The more one stays in this situation, more will be the disappointment/heart break later ). Please share your views.

I think it depends on what type of relationship you have with your beloved. In this case with PaYa, although her love is not reciprocated at this time, or she feels that it is not, she's still hanging around because she and Adi are best friends. He does not know her feelings for him. If she leaves, then it'll seem odd because they're such good friends.

If they weren't best friends and under different circumstances, or in real life, I wouldn't want to wait for my love to be reciprocated if I saw there is no chance if it happening. Although that's easier said than done. So I guess it all just depends on a lot of factors.
