Chapter 24: Promises

"I love you khushi"

The line echoed in her ear. She was glued where she was. The tears were rolling on their own accord.

Why is she feeling so good hearing this and that also from a man who has a boyfriend?

Why does it feel at those words came out straight from heart?

Why was her heart wanted to respond back the same words?

Why if felt that she was the only one to who he said those words?

"I really loved you" came once again making her lose all her battle.

She started sobbing hard still looking at the door, holding the cold metal nob.

Her mind was saying

"We cannot be together"

"You belong to someone else"

"I don't want to be the second woman"

"I wish I could respond you back. But I cant".

"I know you love Lavanya".

"But it is also true that I do love you".

"Yes I love you a lot aranv".

"I don't know when, why, how, where it happened. But yes it happened".

"Yesterday was the best time I have spend in my entire life. And I will always cherish that moment".

"I can never love someone like you, that I have understood, but I cannot love you the way I want to".

She closed her eyes and remembered their conversations

"Oh wifey I missed you so much"

"How could I leave you when I love you so much Hubs?"

"Promise me khushi that you will not take sleeping pills ever in your life"

"Promise me that you will be beside me every night. No matter how much upset we are? No matter how ugly the fight is."

She closed her eyes and cursed her thoughts

"Why Arnav why you made me so weak today?"

"Why did you hit the mot tender part of me?"

"Why did you call me WIFEY?"

She thinned her lips and retreated back but when she turned to throw daggers at him by her words he was already standing right in front of her.

Their chest collid and she was about to fall, when he pulled her by her waist and hugged him, digging his fingers at her back.

"I love you a lot Khushi, please calm down babes, I want to talk to you about this".

"But I don't want to talk to you anything on this Arnav, I have had it and I give a damn to your love".

He smiled and caressed her hair.

Though she side that she care a damn but her palm was telling something else. She gripped him hard while telling those words. She never meant those words he knew it. She loves him a lot to give a damn and he knows that very well.

"You have all the right to be mad at me Khushi. After all I was such a jerk. You can slap me if you want to for that but don't cry please".

To his surprise she just moved away and placed a slap on his cheeks. But immediately she pulled his and kissed on his cheeks to sooth the pain that she has given.

The very next moment she just turned her heels and left for her room without any further words.

He held his cheek and rubbed with his palm. He felt nice. Good that she has slapped him. It was her right to slap him after all. And the very next moment she neutralized with her kiss.

Appy's advice to Arnav: "She loves you so much. Arnav! Tu ussey deserve nahi karta hai actually. Come on now you have to woo her soon but in your own way. You have to be with her all the time whether she needs you or not. Just be beside her no matter how rudely she behaves with you. Just remember one thing she cannot leave without you".

she took a warm shower and dressed herself. She wore a simple white suit and neatly combed her hair.

She came out of the room when he saw him also coming out of the room.

He Arnav smiled at her but she turned to lock the door.

After locking the door Khushi started walking straight towards the lift and Arnav sliently followed her.

Just when the lift door closed the two coupled who were already in the lift started kissing madly in front of Arnav and Khushi.

Khushi's eyes were not less than saucers and her lips forming perfect "O". she looked at Arnav who was smirking at her reaction. She immediately blushed a little feeling a little embarrassed and that did not go unnoticed by him.

The guy was rolling up the girl's dress to touch her bare legs, seducing the hell out of that girl and the girl was moaning all the time bitting her own lips when the guy started kissing her cleavage.

Khushi was now sweating heard. Gulping tiny lumps formed inside her throat. She tried to avoid them as much as possible but the girl's moans were not helping her at all.

Finally the lift which actually took just 40 secs to reach the ground floor from 15^th floor which felt like not less than an hour for Khushi landed on the ground floor.

By the time it landed the couple were on each other on the ground practically making love with their clothes on.

The door opened but Khushi was just too shocked to see them like that. Arnav smirled and came close to her.

Khushi did not even realize that Arnav was beside her as she was just too engrossed in the act.

Arnav took her hand and kissed her knuckles that's when she came back to her senses.

"Sweetheart, you want another round in the lift or shall we proceed?" he said teasingly.

"Haan! What rubbish". She waved his hands off and walked out of the elevator.

Arnav smiled behind her and walked out too.

The meeting with their associates went tremendously well. Their old partners were too happy with the new members. They all believed that the Duo is capable of taking their family business to another level.

Khushi was very hard working and promising where as Arnav was a good analyzer. They both complemented each other and fulfill the weakness of one and other.

They successfully bagged the deal and informed their respective dads. But their dad's already got positive feedbacks from their clients and were happy to know that finally these two passed on the most difficult task.

The next most difficult task for their parents were to convince them to get married which their spouses has already started working on.

They knew this one they can only do if one of children thinks positive about it and Garima was somewhere well aware of Arnav's feelings.

Both of them came back from the meeting exhausted and hungry. Arnav offered her for a dinner in a restaurant but she straight away refused it. Even their way back to hotel was very quiet and nervy. He stole several glances but she totally ingnored him. He tired to put his hand on her but she moved away sensing his approach.

It was inside the elevator when both of them pressed the hall call button and that's when Khushi looked at him.

She immediately tired to move her finger but he held it.

Khushi throw dead glances at him but it did not effect him much.

He started advancing towards her and she started moving back until her back touched the elevator wall.

"Behave yourself Arnav" she said and bit her lips.

Arnav gazed at her lovingly and continue to walk towards her until he was inches away from her.

"I did not do anything Khushi" he smirked looking at her panting state.

"Arnav, don't act smart I know your intensions ok". She managed to tell him in between her hyperventilation state.

"why were you so nervous today in the morning seeing those two couples like that?"

Khushi immediately coloured. She was looking down feeling extremely embarrassed. She has never conversed with him on this subject and she did not know why she was feeling shy.

"The guy was so passionate na?" he said in his husky voice.

"I'''don't'''know"

He closed the gap with was left between them and passed himself on her a bit. She held his shoulders closing her eyes.

Just when aranv was about to kiss her the elevator door opened and Khushi gasped with the noise.

She immediately pushed him back and ran towards her room. In no time she slid the room card and went inside.

Arnav looked at her and smirked.

She was standing below the shower enjoying the cold water traveling down her all ready heated up body and was thinking of last night affairs.

She blushed a little thinking about their cozy doings.

She wrapped her towel tucking it above her breast and came out towel drying her long hair.

She looked at the door and realized that she had to lock it before he could come in. She did not know why she feared that he might come to her room tonight. After all he had promised her that he is going to stay with her every night yesterday onwards. She gulped and walked towards the door. She peeped through the key hole and saw his room door.

She sighed and locked her door.

After throughing the towel on the sofa she went towards the cupboard which was placed opposite of her bed

After getting her night dress she opened her towel and wore it.

She turned and was shocked out of her wit.

"AAAH YOU? How dare you enter my room?"

He pulled her towards him, which made her fall on him.

She protested to release herself but his grip was firm enough.

"you saw me changing, you pervert."

"Then you are more than me Khushi".

"what do you mean?"

"If I am not mistaken you have changed my clothes yesterday, didn't you?"

Khushi's face flushed in embarrassment. She looked here and there but not towards him.

"Yaaa, I did, but you were incapable of changing on your own. So I had to".

"but you did".

"I swear on you Khushi I did not see you changing. I am not that cheap what you think of me."

He rolled her on his side and kissed her forehead. "Go to sleep now".

She immediately got up but pulled by him "I cannot sleep like this with you".

"shut up and sleep now".

"what arnav? Why are you doing this?"

"Because I have promised you last night that I will sleep with you every night. And I hope you did not forget your promise Khushi".

"That promise holds no value to me Arnav".

"Oh really Khushi? Fine.

He got up and took out her sleeping pills which was kept near her bedside table and handed over to her with a glass of water.

"Take it".

"Arnav!!"

"Take it if it doesnot hold any value for you. I swear I will leave the room right now."

She threw the medicines and dug her face inside her pillow and started weeping.

He smiled at her and switched of the lights.

Covering her with the comforter he smuggled beside her. Pulling her waist towards him wrapping his arms around her resting his chin on her head and sometimes placing small feather light kisses on her shoulders he closed his eyes.
