Doesnt matter if u have a skinny or fat waist...belly dancing looks better on people with a bit weight on their stomach, only cuz it emphasizes the moves a bit more. Check out all the professional dancers, u'll see. Having said that, theres barely any bellydancing save a few steps.

But shes a good dancer and i hope this works out for her.

i think the item songs of the movies are about sensuality, desire and temptations. The songs reflect the heroine's secret wish to be closed to her "dream" guy. Because she's supposed to be unmarried, kinda conservative and traditional but not in a typical way.

It's like you're fantasizing on someone.

Exactly. Thats why i dont understand why some people think RANI, the actress, seems desperate doing this role, wherein fact, the CHARACTER is the desperate one. I guess all the more plause for Rani since shes able to potray the character so convingly.

True...but I understand where BI is coming from. Most of us dont have too much exposure to real belly dancers. Only person we have seen belly dance is Katrina. So in comparision to her Rani isnt really slim.

I havent seen Kat belly dance...when did that happen? 😆

The only bellydancing of hers i saw was in that song from ETT and that was just a hip drop and VERY poor job at a fig 8. I assure u, my friend, thats nowhere near bellydancing. In fact, that shimmy rani does at the end is bellydancing and in the beginning the chest drop and roll are also bellydancing steps.

Hot damn Rani looks hot! Katrina needs to take dancing lessons from her because Katrina can't dance to save her life. This is how you move your hips/waist/belly.

Anyways, Enyce is right, generally belly-dancers have a little flab on them because it makes the movements more pronounced and Rani has done a bang on job in this video, whatever little they showed of her movements is definitely belly dancing.
