Chapter One

It was another Friday morning. She woke up quite early today. Well to be true she was not able to sleep the whole night. Today was the day. She had a lunch with Joe. The time was yet not confirm. She was feeling uneasy. Taking a deep breath in, she got up from her bed and picked up the rubber band from the side table tying her hair into a messy knot.

After brushing her teeth, she went to the kitchen to make herself a cup of coffee with just cream and a pinch of cinnamon. She proceeded towards the porch, where the newspaper was kept. Taking a sip from the steaming mug, she read the paper. She was engrossed in her reading but the ringing of her phone brought her back to reality. Placing the newspaper and mug aside she went to attend the call. It was from her secretary who had called to inform her that Joe will see her at 'Le Cirque' at one.

After hanging up she saw the time. It was nine. She didn't have much time with her. Only some four hours. She quickly went back to the porch, kept the paper on the small table and took the mug inside with her. Cleaning it she kept it back at its place and rushed to her room. Picking up the towel she went in the bathroom.

She took a cold shower to calm her pulse rate which was rising each second with just the thought of the conversation she was going to have with him. Shutting off the shower, she wiped herself with the towel. Once completed with her task she picked up the bottle of lotion from the shelf and started applying it all over her body. Wrapping the damp towel around her petite frame she moved out to her room and walked into her wardrobe. She wore a lilac knee length dress and left her hair in curls down her back. She stood in front of the mirror as she applied her favourite lip gloss. This was accompanied by kajal and kohl. After checking her appearance in the mirror for one last time, she left her house.

'Le Cirque', she told the driver. Leaning back in the seat, she stared out the window while tapping her fingertips against her bottom lip. She was thinking about her most ardent desire and inwardly counting her blessings. A mixture of relief and anticipation soared through her upon realizing that she was about to embark upon a phase in her life that she had been looking forward to for a long time: motherhood.

During these past years she had achieved a number of her goals. First, her debut album 'Don't Forget' in 2008 released. This was followed by her other two releases - 'Here We Go Again' and 'Unbroken'. She is known as the face of the Camp Rock Movies, Angela in Barney & Friends, Sonny in Sonny with a Chance and the Princess Protection Program. And now she is the judge of X-Factor. That wasn't at all bad for a twenty-two-year old woman.

Now she could turn her attention to the final stage of her plan that she needed in place before making her most sought-after dream a reality. And that was the man she had chosen to father her child without the benefit of marriage. She was even open to joint custody of the child, if he wanted to go that route.

A permanent hook-up with someone was not what she wanted, not even a teeny-tiny bit. Nor was she looking for a long-term lover, either. A short-term one could handle the task intended quite nicely. The last thing she wanted was a long-term romantic commitment of any kind.

But she was selective.

She had decided very early in her plans that not just any man would do. It had to be someone with all the qualities she wanted to pass on to her offspring. He had to be handsome, intelligent, caring, healthy and wealthy. Definitely wealthy; after all, wealth was her business. And with those "must-have" qualifications embedded deep in her mind, she could think of only one man who met her criteria.
