@elasingh - I agree with you a bit. I too felt a tad uncomfortable with the lack of defense on Anandi's behalf. This is one too many times that CM has insulted Anandi - both to her face and behind her back - and no one has checked her.

In Shiv's support, he didn't seem too bothered about the Urmidevi slander and was kind of swooning over Anandi's vigorous defense (go Anandi!) but then he should pay her back in the same coin. This was not about his feelings but the fact that CM harped on about losing the other rishta in front of the girl Shiv loves and wants to be with.

It could also be that the Shekhar family does not seem given to melodrama and tend to resolve issues by talking through them.

I love the couple and would like to see Shiv step up the protectiveness quotient for Anandi, especially where CM is concerned. Not that Anandi needs it :). She is a pretty tough kid.

@Moneykangna - Alok has spoken very gently to CM about changing her attitude towards Anandi, and Shiv did state his opinion about not being bothered about Anandi's wishes on keeping in touch with her ex-husband. They're aware of the issue and handling it in their way but, yes, I feel that she needs to be firmly checked at some point. Today could have been that point because CM was incredibly lousy. Also, the whole "mera shiv" alaap is creepy.

About the prayer thing, I think it is pretty characteristic of Anandi, right? She is very cognizant about doing the right thing and she wants Jagya to sort out his life. Think she likes to close the loop on things. I don't think she harbours any romantic feelings for Jagya. She's moved on and fallen hard for Shiv. Plus, she prayed for her new rishta first.

Its good to be polite and love/respect your elders . But one should also have the guts to say it when they are wrong which Shiv seems to be lacking.

poiu123: I agree with the pointing out elders' mistakes but don't think Shiv lacks the guts. He's a pretty measured man. It seems he is very hesitant to confront CM out of respect. The whole family seems calm and I can't imagine them throwing table-lamps at each other during an argument. But that said, he needs to shut her up for Anandi's sake.

I once read an interview by SRK on his growth as an actor and he mentioned an example, and I'm liberally paraphrasing here, that while making Dil Se, he tended to treat the Zohra Sehgal character, his grandmother, with complete reverence in the movie but then Mani Rathnam pulled him aside and asked him if that's how he treated elders in his family. Mani Rathnam told him that as we get older and form our personality, the reverence is mixed with impatience, especially if there is a difference of opinions. Thought that was spot on. It's fine if we disagree with an elder and express it. Age does not equal wisdom.

Poiu, You want Collector Shiv who is wildly charismatic and impossibly brilliant to be totally rebellious 😛😆. I feel he has brains & brawn😃 And GUTS in abundance 😉. He' knows to pick his battles😃.
Theredqueen has explained you very well I need not add anything. Sometimes a slight shift in our perspective can make a world of difference.😉
