Not on purpose...
I surely feel this is a technical fummble more than anything else.
Although,I know its hard to believe that such Techn. error went unnoticed and it has been condoned by the Channel management, but even they would've been fully aware that YR has an extremely strong & loyal fan base, so when this would've have come to notice before airing, they must have gone ahead without having tele casted the promo.

And the purpose of promo and programming timings is to attract viewers. Thats precisely why the bombard promos of new shows and shows that've slumped (I don't wish to take names), to thump up the audience interest.
However the case with YR is that promos or no promos, viewers are always aware of its happenings so may be this time they went on with lapse in announcement, as they were aashwast of its popularity and self marketing worth & capabilty.
