I liked the episode tonight.
The writers should be praised for one scene in specific -- Komal's emotional outburst. The scene made up for the entire week. That is what the characters/show is about: Emotional connection to characters, attachment, character development.
I've said it before and I'll say it again; the writers know how to provide us with awesomeness, but most of the time, they choose not to. Komal's scene tonight proved that the writers understand characters, understand how to develop characters, but they choose not to focus on them and instead center everything around V. I wonder why.
There was character development tonight and the emotional scenes were allowed to play out without disruption. I thank the writers.
Moving on to the...
>> Pros:
1) Komal breaks down and blames Sia
This was the highlight for me tonight. It made up for almost everything. From the moment that Komal fainted to when she started begging while unconscious to when she exploded and blamed Sia for everything that has happened to her family.
Komal's reaction was a long time coming -- but it finally came. First, what a fantastic and completely outstanding performance by Neha. I was in awe. I knew that she had it in her, that she only needed an opportunity from the writers to show what she's capable of. The writers developed her character tonight, gave her depth, and what a powerful scene. My God.
I connected instantly with Komal's pain and anger. No, it isn't Sia's fault that V is a son-of-a-sicko. It's not Sia's fault that he hurts them all. But I could understand Komal; the anger at the reason why V was doing all this. The anger at Sia. I could understand her because it's rational -- emotional, yes, but rational. The way that Komal sees it is that the problems started when Sia came into their lives because she brought along the demon -- V.
It was so heartbreaking to watch Komal's breakdown. I could understand her anger at Sia as well as her pain at having watched her son go through traumatic events again, and the fear of what kind of consequences this might have -- the despair at the thought that Krish might be traumatized again when he just started talking.
The despair and anger were the most evident emotions in Komal's voice and on her face. I just felt my heart breaking for her. I could relate to that despair. I loved how she said that she would always choose her family, that she had to be selfish. YES. And there was nothing wrong about that. Of course she'll be selfish and choose her family over Sia. She is right to do so. Because Sia is really just a stranger, isn't she? I loved how she thought of Krish, of all the pain that her family had been enduring at the hands of V.
She vented tonight. Komal has always been so controlled, so detached, so sacrificing -- but tonight she let go. And she was beautiful. In the wake of what she went through, what she watched her family go through -- this was a much awaited reaction that I was scared we'd never get to see. But the writers gave it to us. I'm grateful for that.
I can understand Komal's resentment toward Sia. Sia isn't to blame for what V has done, or what he's doing now. But I can understand where Komal's coming from. It's rational. However, this doesn't mean that the writers should go down the cliche road and make Komal an evil sister-in-law. Her reaction was human, but she has a good heart and once the shock wears off, she'll let go of that resentment.
What I especially liked was how the fainting and the pleading and the blaming seemed to be a reaction of the violence that V exercised on her, of knowing everything that he's put Krish through -- the sick game, for instance, and the kidnapping. Plus it seemed to be the pent-up emotions from her own past, from the four years of watching her son struggle, and now the experience with V.
GAH, I so loved this entire scene. It was allowed to play out. The actress was allowed to perform, time at her service. Fantastic scene. Must watch.
I'd like to add here that Komal sympathized with Sia -- understanding that she was a victim of V's violence as well -- but Komal was emotionally conflicted due to what she'd just witnessed her family go through, and what she went through herself. In her head, if Sia had never come into their lives, then V wouldn't have either.
2) Gayatri's pain and attempt at holding her family together
First, I loved Gayatri's reaction to Komal's emotional outburst. She was shocked. She was scared. She was in pain. Over seeing Komal in this condition. When Komal blamed Sia, it looked like she was out of words to convince herself and Komal with. Which I found very realistic and right for Gayatri.
Maybe a part of her blames Sia as well? Or understands Komal's reason for blaming her.
I was glad that she tried to remind Komal that Sia isn't to blame. Even when her own faith wavered.
Something else I loved was her pain when she stood outside, looking toward the house. I could just see and feel her concern and fear and pain for Raghav, for Komal. It was like she was watching her family fall apart unable to do anything to stop it from happening. I saw despair on her face.
I loved the hug between Taashu and Gayatri. Very nice detail. Fantastic performances.
3) Raghav is shot
Unexpected. Loved the scene. Harshad's performance was mindblowing. From when he dropped to the ground to when V slammed down on his shot wound and made him shout in pain. I squirmed for Raghav, and I admit that I had to look away. I felt sick.
Fantastic scene, this one.
4) Sia tries to understand what changed between her and Raghav
For once, the song sequence made sense. Sia was trying to figure out what changed b/w Raghav loving her and not wanting her to leave and to when he withdrew from her, letting her go without a word. She was trying to fill out the holes because it didn't make sense to her that he'd love her so much, not want her to leave, yet not even try to stop her or want her back when she openly declared her love for him on the phone.
Fantastic performance by Sriti in this sequence.
>> Technical pros:
1) Camera panning when Raghav is shot and tortured
I shuddered. Kudos to the director for the way that he zoomed in on Raghav's body, and then how he was dragged into the bathroom, and finally his torture. Made me sick to the core. Fantastic job.
2) Komal's dialogues
Frigging awesome. Every single word coming from her mouth was frigging awesome. Job well done by the dialogue writer. Outstanding. The dialogues were simple and relatable -- but so incredibly powerful because of the sentiment.
Komal saying that she had to be selfish, that she had to protect her family, etc. Fantastic.
>> Cons:
1) Five cops can't bring down one door
I swear. I've never seen more lame cops on TV in my entire life. Even Dutta's bodyguards were ten times better than these cops. And they were always late.
Plus where was their leader? Wasn't he supposed to be the genius leading the entire operation?
2) Gayatri, Komal, and Taashu don't need masks?
How come they didn't go *faint* when they weren't wearing any masks?
3) V overpowering Raghav
Pointed out by another member as well. Great observation. V overpowering Raghav was out of character since Raghav is physically stronger than V.
>> Technical cons:
1) The unnecessary dragging of the fight sequence
Omigod. They wasted nine minutes on the damn fight sequence -- Raghav and V fighting over the gun, rolling around, fighting some more, shoving each other, fighting some more. And it was all in frigging slowmotion.
Please don't make fight sequences in slowmotion. It ruins the impact of every blow. I was catching on to all the times that Raghav or V threw a fake punch.
2) The general directing of the episode
Was all over the place. A member already pointed out breaking down the door sequence as an example.
Brief feedback tonight. Was busy. Will hopefully be able to make up for it tomorrow night. Nite, lovelies.

HC HC HC 👏 More than anything i loved the voice modulation

Neha was brilliant today ⭐️ I understand komal's plight but i just hope they are not doing it to make her the crap bahu of the house in future who is against the other bahu 🤢

I liked the song sequence mainly because it better to see RaghavI flashbacks instead of other crap 😆

Nothing more to say 😆 I don't want to waste my time writing all the non sense shown but one thing i do want to add

Kudos to the police and best rescue team ... they had me 🤣

I mean really? she is so educated but still she has that same crap soch. what the hell!

and now shes blaming sia. I dont know how dev tortured her. but she can never imagine sia condition.

She understands what Sia's been through, that she's a victim. But Komal just went through a traumatic experience, watching her family be tortured at the hands of V. He wanted Sia. Considering Komal's current condition, it makes sense that she would blame Sia for V coming into their lives.
I'm not saying that she's right. I'm just saying that I understand her and that maybe we should cut her some slack.

Komal could never be a crap bahu. But at least her resentment toward Sia would be much more realistic and relatable than what they usually show on Indian shows.

wonder if this Komal breaking down would have been shown if KB was fit for the epi.
if only the cops wouldn't stand around watching Komal cry n blame Sia, if only tashu would have rushed to bring water n not the lady cop
if only they would atleast mention that Raghav had been shot n was in danger!!

can't even drag scenes properly when one of the actors isn't available. do I need to add that the fake punches were showing n since the actor has hurt his nose, he can easily show up in a couple of shots with the wound n bandage n all...

but why am I complaining, do the CVs really care?

HC showed up with that bruise on his cheekbone 😆 Sriti showed up with puffy eyes that she could barely keep open and a voice that sounded like it took her all the effort just to put force behind it.

I dont know how dev torture her but she can never imagine sia condition. What she saw in video footage was only half of the thing. I am sorry Ana but Let me tell you, I never like other characters blaming female lead for all crap. and in dsdsb case I can never tolerate it because sia is a DV victim.

Komal having outburst is fine but blaming sia is not fine!

And from now on I can never like komal character
