| On the dance floor Stars from various fields show up at the launch of the dance show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Ranjib Mazumder It was a starry affair as celebrities from various walks of life assembled at the launch party of Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, the much-talked about dance show, at Taj Mahal hotel. The show is a desi version of Dancing with the Stars. Eight celebrities have been roped it from different fields to participate in the show. And with three judges and two hosts, the show promises to be a quite rocking affair.
Choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan, ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actress Shilpa Shetty will judge the show.
Shilpa Shetty dressed in a cool white attire said, "Now I can take revenge on Mahesh Manjrekar (a participant in the show) for all the re-takes that he has made me go through. It was an eleventh hour call from Sony. I agreed to be part of the show as I like dancing. Dancing has been my forte, so it will definitely enrich me. Though I am busy with my movie shoots, I couldn't resist the fun-filled experience."
Farah, who is busy choreographing Colombian songstress Shakira, said, "Being a choreographer, I have always enjoyed the original Dancing with the Stars on BBC. I have been a judge on Indian Idol for two seasons, but the contestants were newcomers there. Here, all are well-known faces in their respective fields. It will be great fun." Sanjay Bhansali who is busy shooting his ambitious project Saanwariya said, "It will definitely not be easy for me to judge the participants. But, as the show promises to be a delight for the participants as well as for the audience, I hope it enriches my experience as a filmmamker." "My husband, Parmeet and I had participated in Nach Baliye. Now we will be hosting Jhalak… together. Watching professionals from different fields dancing and competing, will be great fun," said Archana Puran Singh.
