Rima, I haven't read the LU completely and i havent seen the episode either - I certainly wont be, but from what I gather from the quick posts that were made on the forum soon after the episode aired, my reactions were a mixed-bag to be honest - 1. A kind of quiet pleasure that Arnav and Khushi's bond that has deepend and strengthened over time has made both of them realize that they don't need to prove their affections for each other... I don't care what Arnav jested about but Khushi's reaction to it is may I say quite typical of any woman , any woman who is expressive, any woman for the simple fact that she loves the man she does..with all her heart - that was beautiful. How many men can claim that they have experienced that moment of absolute realization that for that woman in their lives they mean everything, literally everything in most casual of the interactions - that one surreal moment where everything around loses focus and you know this is all that I was running towards - I am home! Isnt it a sort of a thing we all take for granted..their presence in our lives? How many of us have those poignant moments when we have a surreal experience - realizing that the this woman or man in front of us - we mean the world to them, literally the world and they cannot see or be beyond us? And I thik Arnav experienced that today and am sure he knows he is one lucky man to have experienced it.
2. Arnav may have said what ever he said in jest but Khushi eyes would have shown the fear, pain at the thought of it ever becoming real, and that I think - that one moment without any words spoken without any thing said, is a ode to their bond. I've always thought and felt Arnav and Khushi's connect to be a poetry , like a nazm... where words when woven together, dissolved to leave you with an experience that becomes a part of the one listening to it - you live that poetry, you live that nazm - you love, cry, wish...what ever that nazm is all about! That nazm that poetry - which is Arnav and Khushi's bond is what I loved atb the show...all the aspects of the show adding to it... That was what Lalit Mohanji brought out on screen - poetry in motion... it was like listening to a nazm everda at 8 PM... and even though I havent watch the episode , I am pretty certain the two actors par excellence at bring out emotions of these characters would have brought alive that poetry on screen today, simply because that moment itself was such. that it deserved an ode dedicated unto it
3. They have been to hell and back without realizing that they were going thru this to be together, they have dealt with those uncomfortable encounters that were but a tease of time, that intended to bring them together and fate's play thrown in, their bond evolved from a a surreal connect (Sensing each other's presnece), to a reluctant challenge (they tried to stay away but were made to face each other and unwilling took up the challenge to face each other and deal with it), to a deliberate denial ( of the inexplicable instances of random recollection of the moments spent with the other and the denial that this was not affecting - Farak mode), to an all consuming perplexity of new emotions taking over , to a uncomfortably comfortable understanding ( from clash of views on the surface to a common desire of deep seated longing for that sheltered life with parents and to be cared for and loved ) , to an unwilling acceptance (post Kidnap...post the marriage..that acecptance that they affect each other and are in this together) and finally to a submission to emerge as an emotion called love...Time has been patient and fate has watched them travel to hell and back and it knows only too well not to challenge that again, but such is life that it is no smooth road to tread and the road to tread will have its rocky edges and turns, but they would just be just a tease of time, catching up on them... they are in it now, together, now and forever...Who needs words, when surreal moments aplenty have stood witness to that deep connect! For me Arnav and Khushi and their connect - that sensing of each other's presence ... of just knowing deep down what hte other wants, feels and needs...is poetry ...a nazm...jo aap har din gaa sakte ho... chaahe wo Rabba Ve ho yaa kuch aur! 😉
4. No matter what Dadi and Shyam conspire to do, they will have to meet the consequences in the end - Good triumphs over evil, but in TV serials it will be only after the victim - er the faith of viewers has breathed their last - the viewers..so yeah... brace yourselves.,..
At the end of the day... my faith and intelligence as a viewer has been thwarted , assaulted and insulted so bad that I am not willing to give in that the petition is being heard but I would watch as a angry eagle , watchign every damn step the CVs take before I decide this show is worth my 20 mins in the evening...
For now... the nazm that Arnav and Khushi's bond is, that began as a beautiful nazm ..will stay that way for me... rest of the story not withstanding...and time can move on!
Sorry for the rather delayed update... but my first cut just was lost in a browser crash so I had to type it all over again! :(
