I am surprised at the inconsistency in Madhubala's Character...and its very disturbing!
RK's mean, its in his character...There hasn't been any flicker of other emotions except when he was called an animal by Madhu... when she told him that she feels sorry for his mother...That's when it hurt him the most...and when flashes of his childhood was showcased his pain, and his anger was well portrayed...When she was hurt yes there was a certain emotion that glistened in his eyes, he was affected seeing it...He was upset that she had gone on to save his life "Khambhakt Ehsaan kar gayi"...and RK was not somebody who would take any Ehsaan and so he takes her to meet her family and gives 10 mins of her very life...The manicure scene, the pedicure scene - where he wanted to humiliate her, but decides against it...The scene where she takes his boots to get them polished and he again wants to stop her, but does not all are indicative of the consistency in the Character...His conversation with Bittu ji clearly shows that all he wanted was to hurt her humiliate her, and because she was getting accustomed to it the whole insulting Padmini Drama takes place...All these scenes show how consistent the character of RK is written and maintained.
But can the same be said for Madhu...I agree she did raise her voice against RK and also challenged him...But later why??? Its contradicting her characterization for whom her family is everything...Every time her parents are insulted all she does is listen and keep listening...I wonder what logical explanation the CV's have for this inconsistency...Like she says giving 40 lakhs RK has brought Madhu not her family...But these words are limited to only words and no action when and where required...
Being the central character, the CV's should look into such things and make it look more logical like they do with RK's role...
These are simply my views...no offense meant
Cheers
