@Kal-yeah i remeber watching that show-i must have been 10 years old at that time...but Indrani Haldar was amazing...
even i was wondering the same thing if Kaali would become Parvati or no...
im guessing they may show her turning back into Parvati...

I'm not getting you - why is it not embarrassment? At that level, and in that yuga, the idea of a goddess even accidentally touching her husband w/ her feet was unthinkable, as being the highest form of disrespect. The tongue coming out is a reflection of that embarrassment i.e. being ashamed of doing that, and that's what the idols of Mahakali capture.

So ironically, while Mahadev is worshipped in the linga form, the only time he's worshipped albeit indirectly w/ an idol of his is in Kali Puja, right?

Vrish, practically from an extreme anger, embarresment can not come instantly, an instant reaction can be of shock & surprise. I've read many books about various forms of Devi, nowhere it is mentioned as an embarresment. I am infact surprised to read it as an embarresed expression.
Ma Kali represents a vrey independant, free power. Who can not be bowed down, that's why Shivji has to be on ground to pacify her.
Shivji is worshiped as both Linga & idol form. We worship Ma Kali along with Ambama or Durga ma in Navratri. On Diwali too it is Lakshmi pooja. I infact want to see a Kali-puja.

If you're talking about in Kolkata, you'd have to specifically go to one of the Kali-baris on Diwali to see it. As it is, on that day, even in Bengal, Kali Puja is overshadowed by Diwali, and so only devoted Kali bhakts pick the occasion to do that, instead of fireworks. (I find it disappointing that Kali Puja has to coincide w/ Diwali, Vijaya Dashami has to coincide w/ Dusshera, etc. Why can't we have more holidays had they been separate? In future yuga cycles, they should fix this 😆)

I guess it's a matter of interpretation. If a person (actually just Indian, since I haven't seen this outside India) sticks his or her tongue out, it's usually an expression of embarrassment or being mildly ashamed @ his/her action.
