Basically i did not ever think about progression in Bollywood but reading your post about progression i thought and got Katrina is the best example in matter of progression , she is the only such actress who making progress every year , deluged with movies offers , also making progress in winning hearts by her acting...

even though she does not speak Hindi well , still she is doing wonders in Hindi movies ... she is source of inspiration for other foreigner actress who don't speak Hindi well...

Definitely Vidya all around.

And actually, Katrina has improved too. But she is still not where she needs to be. Don't think she ever will in my opinion.

Vidya (box office and acting wise)

Salman and Katrina - regressed acting wise and progressed box-office wise.

Ranbir - acting wise.

Salman and Katrina at BO.

Kareena and Vidya as actors. I will also include Ajay Devgan.

Kareena- she really improved her acting...ppl only Remeber her for JWM and forget about chameli because no one has seen it... but that girl is full of talent and she just needed good directors to guide her. Now ever since JWM, I have not seen her do any bad acting or go OTT.

Priyanka- I know her career currently is not as strong as kareena's or Vidya's but in terms of acting... she improved... she still needs to work on her commercial films though... her acting lacks in that department

Imran... I was really suprised by his perf in EMAET and he is working with vishal

Anusha --- amazing in BBB and now she's working with Vishal

I don't think Deepika improved at all

Vidya only in terms of popularity she improved. Her acting was always good since she wasn't actually a new comer in her first film... she had practice as a TV actress. I think she was always considered a good actress so I don't think we saw a drastic change in her acting.

Ranbir... am not sure about because unlike imran he always had good reviews for his perf...so I don't think we saw any drastic change with him
