Bollywood has had more than its share of male bonding films from 'Shaukeen' to 'Dil Chahta Hai' to comic capers like 'Golmaal' and 'Garam Masala'.

In Hollywood, of course, everyone from Julia Roberts ('Mystic Pizza') to Britney Spears ('Crossroads') has been a part of the chick flick revolution.

So what are Rekha, Mahima Chaudhary, Kim Sharma and Vasundhara Das doing about it? The actors are starring in 'Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamaana', a film debutant director Amar Butala claims is Bollywood's first real chick flick! Butala swears, "The film is not as sexual as 'Sex and the City' (the successful US series), but the women in this film discuss everything - men, friendship, marriage, divorce, babies, diamonds and yes, even sex in a language that women in urban India will surely connect with."

Putting together a cast as a first time director is difficult, more so when it involves four women. But Butala somehow managed it and is most excited, particularly about the presence of Rekha, who he says is the only actor who could pull off the role of a diva effortlessly.

"I needed someone to play a socialite, who's been through four marriages and yet has never had a child," he adds.

Kim Sharma plays a bimbette, while Vasundhara is someone who is pregnant through most parts of the film.

About casting the latter the director says, "I wanted someone who had that glow that pregnant women usually have and she was just right."

Mahima fitted the role of a woman who has broken men's hearts, and akin to her own personality, the character is fancy-free and footloose.

While the film is about women, it caters to men as well. "I remember Rekha telling me once 'You have four gorgeous women in your film, how can the men resist?'," Butala recalls.

And yes, there are enough men in the film too, including Sachin Khedekar, Ashmit Patel, Nikhil Chinapa, Sanjit Bedi, VJ Gaurav Kapoor and model Ashwin Mushran.
