FanGirl- Why is that such a taboo in the IPK forum? So what? RC is so curious.

First RC is talking about fans NOT fanatics.

Who are we to be judgmental? I am an Arnav Singh Raizada fan who is in fact smitten with Barun Sobti. So what?

So I look at this as just a show and don't look for social implications. So what? Why does that make me less of a person?

Just because i like ASR doesn't mean I am going to land myself in an abusive relationship. Why assume I don't know the difference between fiction and reality?

So what if I watch this show for Barun Sobti? Is there a right way of being a fan?

Why the holier than thou attitude towards me?

So what if I don't care about feminism/abuse/etc because I watch this for entertainment? I know where to draw the line, why judge me?

I am a girl, ofc i am more likely to be smitten with the male lead. So what? Why hold it against me?

Standard Disclaimer- RC is taking the voice of a fangirl. She may or may not condone the above views.

I agree! too tv is just to entertain, sometimes it gives meaningful messages other times we just drool over the leads. its important to identify which times to do what.

Ahaaa...what a topic for debate..👏😉

i guess this is the only forum where in members are labelled with all sorts of different names...if u like ASR, ur a DROOLER...if u feel the pain of Khushi, ur a FEMINIST. Now this name calling is damn bugging...and has actually divided the forum into groups. Why bring in real life issues in a fiction...that too in a "HINDI SOAP" where nothing goes as per (REAL) LOGIC ?!!!!!! Now this show is comparatively lot toned down if u see the sh*t that is shown in lot of Ekta kapoor's serial...wonder what would have happened had this been one of her shows..!!!!! The forum would have gone insanely crazy. Now some people might argue here, that fiction DOES affect the mentality of REAL people...they do get influenced...to this i would say, one has to be MATURED enough to not look out for any kind of social messages from SERIALS atleast...there are a lot of other well known shows where in social stigmas of society are brought out, discussed and solved..!!!!!! This show is solely for Entertainment...so it better be treated that way.

So What?!!!!!!

Thank you for voicing my frustration...I am so glad I decided to actually check the forum out today...

...I joined, what, 8 months ago?...It was a fun forum...made some great friends...we had a laugh, dicussed the serious issues but didnt dwell on it too long... but these days...bleh! The forum atmosphere is so self righteous it's nauseating! 🤢 ... So much so I can't even be bothered to post here any more...

I am a young, educated, independent woman, I am not going to list my qualifications...but to put it simply I'm not dumb!

I know where to draw the line. What is and is not acceptable, be it in the name of love and passion...But when I turn on my idiot box at 8pm I want to be entertained and that's exactly was this show does.

There are plenty of other SP shows that focus on morals and issues that effect society but after a long day of hearing, reading and even seeing those issues, a part of me just wants to be ignorant and get lost in a love story...so bite me!

So what if ASR is being a jerk...which guy isn't?...At one point or another they all are! I think it's safe to say its part of their DNA...and doesn't this make him more human, more real?..NEW FLASH HE IS NOT PERFECT!...Isn't that the reason we all fell for him in the first place.?

I am a die hard ASR fan...that's right I am. I love the fact that this character is able to make me give a f**k about his actions...so call me a fangirl...a squealing, swooning one!

I enjoy the show for what it is...not for what I want it to be!

I want to be considered as part of an intelligent audience that can determine the difference between real life and reel life...I don't want the makers to highlight the point in the show were the characters have behaved in a way that's not acceptable...There is a reason it's called fiction!

No, I have not landed myself in a abusive relationship...Surprised? Nor do I want my partner to begin to behave like ASR...To suggest that we are all damned in love due to the effects of this show is like saying all the twilight girls are going to be necrophiliacs! Give us some credit.

I am not going to suggest they make changes to the show...why? Because its not my show, not my story and not my characters. I write FF's get over that hurdle...If one of my readers were to give me constructive criticism I would appreciate it and try my best to take on what they have said...But if I were to get demands on how the story line is being destroyed how i am messing up the characters...WHAT CRAP! It's my story...which is exactly what GH said and more power to him...

I am a Sobtian...who in this forum isn't? We all remember the state of the forum during Mr Sobti's short sabbatical from the show...

This post may make me sound, superficial, insensitive, inconsiderate, ignorant and obnoxious...So what?! 😊

Liking Barun is fine. Wanting to kill Pashmeen and wear her face so you can sleep with him is not.

Thinking Arnav and Khushi have a romantic relationship is fine. Wanting to kill your husband because he's too kind and sweet and doesn't shove you around like a ragdoll is not.

Watching the show for Barun is fine. Pausing when his face is on-screen so you can kiss it is not.

Not caring about the deeper meanings of the show is fine. But blindly accepting the show's ridiculous logic (or rather, lack of it) is not.

---
Everything you described is the behaviour of a fan, not a fangurl. I've never criticised fans- by being on IF I think I've proven myself as a fan. By writing FFs on the characters, I've proven myself as more than that.

But fangurling- the INSANE fangurling and wailing at the Shrine of Sobti that I see on here is ridiculous, irrational and sometimes I wonder if these people are actually even REAL or just Moronbots trolling the internet. Gutter posts don't make me laugh- I don't find crass or obvious humour (if it can even be called that) funny. I prefer sarcasm, wit and clever wordplay- things that require effort and an innate, brilliant sense of humour as opposed to just a mind that needs a thorough rinsing with Mr Muscle.

I swear, some of the absolute shit that I've seen on here makes me wish there was a Mod specifically to go through and close things for excessive levels of idiocy.
