Since the plot of this programme revolves around Lord Krishna and the people residing in Heritage House i.e the Goenka family are ardent devotees, the cast and crew of Saarthi decided to celebrate this very festival on the sets. So authentic bhajniks were invited to sing bhajans on the sets and this was used as the main track to unfold the drama. Apart from this 150 kgs of marigold flowers were bought from the famous Krishna Temple, at Madho Bagh in C.P Tank. A big cradle was prepared for Bal Krishna, and was lavishly decorated with the marigold flowers. Bal Krishna was also dressed in the best of costumes and accessories. As is the custom, on the eve of this festival, a young child from the family is dressed as Krishna to break the matki, thus announcing the birth of Lord Krishna. At midnight, when Khushi Goenka, the youngest member of the Goenka family appeared dressed in the garb of Bal Krishna and broke the matki, the whole Saarthi crew celebrated Janmashtami. |
