Kareena Kapoor amazes everyone on the sets of Heroine speaking fluent Marathi!

on Friday at 10:38am
We are well-aware that Kareena Kapoorcomes from a Punjabi clan and that too from a well-settled one, who is one of the oldest filmi families. So, you must be perplexed why we referred as her Marathi mulgi here, as both the clans are poles apart.

The sole reason behind this is Kareena's familiarity with the Marathi language. While many know Kareena Kapoor as an ace Bollywood actress, few are aware that she speaks Marathi fluently.

In fact, she could well-converse with people in Marathi and even they were amazed when they found this Punjabi kudi speaks the other language so well. A source from her forthcoming movie revealed that she conversed with Maharashtrian crew members including director Madhur Bhandarkaronly in Marathi.

"When Bebo learnt that most of the unit guys were Maharashtrians, she conversed with them in Marathi. In fact, her fluent Marathi took even Madhur by surprise. During the shoot, Madhur and Kareena would talk in Marathi and it used to be fun listening to them."

Well, we must say that this is one of the many hidden talents of Bebo!

Dubai residents raging after watching Heroine trailer!

on Friday at 11:45am
Yet another trouble for Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine, as sources informs that its teaser has infuriated Dubai residents with a dialogue that degrades Bollywood actresses who visit the city. A press conference scene from the trailer that came out last week showed actress Kareena Kapoor rebuking journalists.

"You people should be writing scripts. If a heroine buys a car, it's given to her by a businessman, if she goes to LA, she's getting plastic surgery done and, God forbid, if she goes to Dubai, you people make her a rate card," she says in the film's teaser.

Residents said that the suggestion that Bollywood actresses who visit Dubai end up as call girls with price tags was sickening. "This is terrible. Bollywood has once again tarnished the image of Dubai by typecasting it as the hub of illegal and immoral activities. Let's not forget that Dubai is home to a number of Bollywood stars," popular radio jockey Kritika Rawat said.

Dubai-based TV personality Uma Ghosh Deshpande said that she couldn't understand why Indian filmmakers were still obsessed with typecasts.

"This is 2012; gone are the days when Indians came to Dubai on a ferry to take odd jobs. Over the last two decades, the Indian community has worked up the ranks and earned a reputation across various sectors, making their motherland proud," she said.

Ironically, Heroine has been directed and co-written by director Madhur Bhandarkar, who in 2010, was honoured in Dubai for his contribution to Indian cinema.
