Aww Khushi called Maan Veerji! That was the sweetest thing ever!

But I feel bad for geet...Everytime she wanted to tell Maan the truth, something or the other came up. And poor ASR and MSK...They both don't have any clue as to why their lady love's are ignoring them.

I hope Khushi tells ASR that she loves him and I hope geet is able to tell Maan the truth.

CHAPTER 41. IGNORING AND AVOIDING GAMES!

Place - Khurana Mansion

It was a beautiful Sunday morning. Maan got down the stairs and walked towards the dining table. He sat in his chair and looked around discreetly. But he was not as discreet as he thought. "Kya dekh rahe ho Veerji?", a voice piped up. Before he could say something, another voice piped up, "Naina Bhabhi, Veerji dekh nahi rahe. Kisiko dhoond rahe hain. Kyun Veerji?" As both NT and Khushi dissolved into giggles and laughter, Maan glared at them. But it seemed his glare did not have any effect these days. Suddenly, both ladies went quiet and their face turned serious as if trying to prove that they are very innocent. They were looking over his shoulder. Maan raised his eyebrows as he turned to look at what had them so quiet. Out came his Soni from the kitchen carrying a plate of parathas. Dev's eyes landed on its target. Parathe! Yummy! But Maan was not happy. He could not believe it. Do din! Do din maine Soni ke kapde chune aur dono hi din usne meri pasand ka pehena hi nahi! He had selected a blue suit but she wore a maroon one. What was wrong? As she came close he stared at her in bewilderment. She was not even looking at him. Was she ignoring him? But why? What had he done now? She placed the plate and walked off to get some more. She took 2 - 3 rounds to bring the breakfast but not once did she even look at him! He looked at his plate worried out of his wits. What was going on?

Soon, the breakfast ended and the family went of to their rooms. But as Soni walked to the kitchen to place the plates back, Maan went and stood by the door hiding. Geet came out of the kitchen only to be dragged by her elbow. She crashed into Maan's chest and held his shirt to balance herself. She looked at him in anger ready to blast him only to see him glaring at her. Her eyes widened as she gulped. His eyes softened as he saw her fearful eyes but he did not loosen his hold on her. "Tumhein kya hua Soni?", Maan whispered softly. Geet realized what he wanted to talk about. Hey Babaji! She looked here and there avoiding his penetrating eyes. His hold on her tightened and he spoke, "Kuch bologi ya nahi!" "Mujhe kya hua hai? Kuch bhi toh nahi!", she whispered, her eyes staring somewhere near his shoulder. He glared at her, "Toh tum mujhe ignore kyun kar rahi ho?" "Ignore? Main? Nahi toh!", she shook her head as if trying to emphasize her point. But Maan refused to back off. "Jhoot mat bolo Soni! Jhoot Se Mujhe saqt nafrat hai!", Maan whispered but his anger was clear in his voice. Suddenly, Geet felt angry. Here she was confused, worried, shocked and annoyed altogether, having all her emotions jumbled up and here he was thinking all about himself! She glared him and shrugged off his hands sharply. She glared at him and spoke, "Maine kahaa na ki koi problem nahi hai toh koi problem nahi hai! Samjhe!" She stalked off to her room leaving a shocked Maan behind. Ise kya hua hai? Yeh theek toh haina?

Place - Shantivan

Today is Sunday! Shit! Today is Sunday! And hence no chance of meeting his Afreen! Dammit! Today is Sunday! There were the thoughts of certain Raizada as he paced in his room. If Khushi's Arnavji was not so into his thoughts he would have noticed the hustle bustle in the house as the whole Raizada family realized that there was barely 20 days left for Akash Singh Raizada's engagement. Plans were made, rituals were discussed and invitation lists were readied. But alas! Our very own Raanjha had not noticed anything! He just went ahead with his newly found favorite hobby; pacing! You must be thinking why had Arnav not yet called his very own personal Heer and talked to her? Well! He did try but her phone was switched off! Poor Khushi's Rakshas! How was he to know that Khushi's mobile's battery decided to go dead and Khushi had misplaced it not knowing that it was dead! No wonder ASR was pacing!

Place - Khurana Mansion

Dadima looked up from her discussion with NT and Khushi about the latest jewelry available in the market to see a worried Maan enter the room and sit beside her. NT and Khushi decided to give them privacy and got up but Maan signaled them to sit down. All three ladies looked at Maan worriedly. "Dadima Soni ko kya hua hai?", Maan sighed and looked at them with pain in his eyes. If Dadima and NT had any doubts about Maan's love for Soni, all would have been vanished at Maan's expression. He had never looked so forlorn before! As both the ladies looked at him confused, Maan explained about Soni's behavior for two days! He ended his explanation with the words, "Please aap log use ek baar baat kijiye! Shaayad woh apne problem mujhse kehne mein jhijak rahi ho! Shaayad woh aapko bataa de!" He pleaded with all three of them. All three looked sadly at him and nodded. Maan heaved a sigh of relief, gave them a smile and walked away. While Dadima and NT thought and discussed about a way to make Soni open up, Khushi felt her eyes tearing as she thought of the pain the two lovers must be going through. Hey Devi Maiyya! Aap kyun Veerji aur Geetji ke saath yeh sab kar rahe hain? Please sab kuch theek kar dijiye!

Geet sighed as Dadima and NT looked at her questioningly. They had come to her room few minutes back with the pretense of spending time with her. By now, they had asked her atleast ten times about her problem but what was she to reply. She looked down and shook her head again. "Koi baat nahi Dadima. Sab theek hai, NT Di." "Phir Maan bte kyun keh rahe the ki aap bade kheeche kheeche se the? Dekhiye Soni beta jo baat hai keh dijiye. Hum aapke apne hain. Hum aapki problem solve kar sakte hain." Apne!!! Thought Geet. Aapki apni Soni hai main nahi! But Geet did not say it loud. Instead she said "Main theek hoon Dadi." NT looked at Dadi with disappointment. Dadima patted Soni's leg and walked off. All three - Dadima, NT and Geet knew that Geet was hiding something but Dadima and NT decided to ignore it hoping that one day she would come to them with her problem. As both the ladies crossed the threshold of the room they noticed Khushi standing outside the room. While Dadima just smiled at her and walked away NT placed a hand on her shoulder, "Khushi aap baat karke dekhlijiye. Shaayad aapko woh kuch bataaye." Khushi nodded and NT walked off.

"Geetji?", Khushi whispered as she entered the room to notice a sad Geet standing by the window staring outside. The moment Geet heard Khushi she turned around. Khushi felt a pinch in her heart as she noticed the unshed tears in Geet's eyes. She opened her arms and Geet ran to her and hugged her tightly. She cried her heart out with Khushi comforting her. Kaash humne us raat baahar chalne ki jidd naa ki hoti toh aaj yeh sab nahi hota! Geetji ka bhram toh toot na jaata. Woh khush toh hoti. Bhale hi unki zindagi jhooti hoti par woh khush toh hoti! Hey Devi Maiyya! Ab sab aapke upar hai! Humaari saheli ko khush kar dijiye! "Bahut dard hota hai, Khushi! Maan ke saath aisa bartaav karne mein bahut dard hota hai. Par unke paas jaana bhi galat hai. Woh kisi aur ke hain. Mere nahin! Main aur kya karoon kuch samajh nahi aa raha! Yeh dard se mujhe nikaalo Khushi! Nahi sahaa jaata mujhse! Paas jaaun toh dard na jaaun toh unhein dard, yeh pyaar itna dard kyun deta hai. Kyun?"

It was afternoon when Khushi finally found her mobile and put it to charging. Hey Devi Maiyya! Ghar se koi call aaya hota toh! It took her nearly an hour searching for it only to find it on her dressing table. Only ten minutes into charging the phone rang. Khushi eagerly ran towards it hoping to get a call from her house. Maybe Buaji had reached home. Even though she was not a big fan of Buaji, her buaji had called last night claiming that she was bringing a surprise with her and Khushi was totally excited about it. Without looking at the caller id, Khushi picked up her phone. Poor thing! She was not given a chance to even say hello. "Kahaan thi tum? Kabse call kar rahaa hoon. Why was the phone switched off. Dammit! Main yahaan paagal ho raha hoon and you are enjoying there. I will kill you Khushi Kumari Gupta. How dare you ignore me! How dare you!", came the voice of Arnav from the mobile and Khushi's eyes widened. But as she heard the words she got angry too. "Hogaya! Ab hum bolein! Ya aur chillaana baaki hai! Nahi aur kuch baaki hai toh bol dijiye! Aapki Afreen sun rahi hain." "What the! You are making a joke of me! I will see you." "Haan! Haan! Dekhlijiyega! Pehle yeh toh batayiye ki call kyun kiya! Ya phir chillaana ka man tha toh socha chalo Afreen ko call karte hai." Khushi spoke sarcastically. Idhar hum itne pareshaa hain ki Geetji itne mushkil daur se guzar rahi hain aur Buaji ne bataaya nahi ki woh kab ghar pahunchengi aur inko apni padi hai! Hey Devi Maiyya! Yahi mile the aapko mere liye! Suddenly, she heard Arnav speak, "I want to meet you. I haven't seen you for days. I want to see you." "Kya???", Khushi nearly screamed. Hey Devi Maiyya! Meet Arnavji! Hum toh mar hi jaayenge! As if on cue, her heart beats built up and her stomach somersaulted. She gulped. "Aaaj!", she stammered. "Nahi nahi! Parso mil lena! Obvoiusly aaj you fool!", she heard Arnav shout and she lost her temper too. Fool! Humein fool kahaa! Hum aapko bataate hain ki fool kise kehte hain! Nahi milte hum aapse! "Nahi!" "What the! What do you mean by nahi?", Arnav barked. "Nahi matlab nahi! Hum nahi milenge aaj aapse!" She expected him to roar but instead he spoke in a sweet voice, "Theek hai, sweetheart. Mat milo. Main tumse milne aajaaunga. Tumhaare ghar! What say!" Khushi smiled mischievously. Inhein toh pata hi nahi ki hum Veerji ke ghar par hain! She spoke in a sweet voice, "Aajaayiye! No Problem!" "What the!", she heard him exclaim and started laughing. "Humaare ghar par koi nahi hai. Toh band darwaaje se mil lena. Aur agar aapko ghar mein ghusne ka itna shauk hain toh Khurana Mansion mein ghus jaayiyega jahaan hum teen chaar din se reh rahe hain. Bye! Phir milenge!" She cut the phone call with a giggle. Idhar humein Geetji aur Veerji ki prem kahaani ki chinta ho rahi hai aur inko humaari shakal dekhni hai! Yeh Arnavji bhi na! Bas apni padi hai!

Place - Shantivan

Arnav looked at his phone in shock. She was at Maan's house! What was she doing there? Forget that! The problem was how to meet her not where she was staying. How to meet her? Maybe I should go to Maan's house. NO! Dadima aur NT Di ko bataa dengi aur Khushi ki haan se pehle shaadi hojaayegi. But I first want to propose her and hear her yes. Only later I will involve the family. In short, main Afreen ko aaj bhi nahi mil sakta! Dammit! That day, except Anjali, the whole family bore the brunt of Arnav's anger. Poor Raizadas!

Place - Khurana Mansion

Khushi turned around to go out of Geet's room only to come across Geet leaning on the door with a smile on her face, hand on her hip and mischief in her eyes. "Kya hua? Aaj Arnav se nahi milogi?", Geet asked in mocking voice. Khushi shook her head and tried to walk away. Geet caught her wrist and made her sit on the bed. She sat beside her. "Ab bataao. Kya hua?" Khushi shook her head. "Dekho Khushi! Main tumhein sab kuch bataati hoon na! Toh tum bhi mujhe sab kuch bataaogi." Khushi blushed and looked at Geet shyly. She spoke about how she realized her love for Arnav and how she could not face him now. "Par milne mein problem kya hai?", Geet was genuinely confused. What was wrong in meeting him? "Baat milne ki nahi hai! Baat hai humaare bartaav ki! Humein samajh nahi aa raha ki hum unse kaise mile, kaise baat karein. Bahut dar lag raha hai. Upar se yeh dhak-dhak aur pet mein gulaati! Sab humein daraa rahein hai!" "Arre Bewakoof!! Tumhaari bua sahi kehti hai. Tum sach mein Sanka Devi ho! Arre! Tum jaise behave karti ho waise karo. Pyaar karne se kya tumhaari dosti badal jaayegi? Nahi na! Tum achche dost the, ho aur rahoge! Tum jaisi ho waisi raho! Baaki sab Devi Maiyya pe chod do!" "Par humein sharam aati hai." "Phitte mooh tera! Toh kya zindagi bhar unse door bhaagti rahogi? Jhalli ho tum! Apne darr ka saamna karo. Darr ke aage jeet hai." Both the girls giggled at the dialogue obviously taken from the infamous ad. "Par agar humaari jabaan phisli aur humne kuch aisa waisa bol diya aur unhein pata lag gaya toh!" "Toh pata lagne do! Tumne hi kahaa na ki tumhein lagta hai woh tumse pyaar karte hain. Toh bas! Phir kya fikar hai! Kya pata agar unhein andaaza hua ki tum bhi unse pyaar karti ho toh shaayad apna rishta lekar aa jaaye tumhaare ghar! You know what! Ek kaam karo tum use apni dil ki baat bata hi do! Agar woh tumse pyaar karte hain jo woh of course karte hain, toh jhat mangni pat byaah!" Geet giggled at the thought and Khushi blushed. "Nahi! Hum pehle iss pyaar ko jeena chaahte hain unke saath! Phir ikraar aur phir shaadi! Aur hum kal unse milenge.", Khushi whispered while blushed. Geet giggled. "Haayo rabba! Humaari Khushi toh badi ho gayi! Pyar-shyar ke sapne dekh rahi hai! Kahin shaadi ki raat ka bhi sapna dekhliya kya?" Khushi pushed Geet away and ran away while Geet laughed wholeheartedly. Maan who was passing by heard Soni's laugh and sighed. Chalo! Khush toh hai! Par phir mere saath aisi kyun hai? Koi baat nahi! Main use kaise na kaise manaa hi loonga!

Place - Buaji's house at Laxminagar

It was late evening when Khushi entered her house. Buaji had called in the evening telling her that she had reached home. Maan had dropped her home. Khushi thanked Devi Maiyya that Buaji had not noticed Maan with her. "Buajiii!", squealed Khushi as she ran into the kitchen to search for her Buaji excited about her surprise only to get a shock. There stood her jiji cutting the vegetables. At her squeal, Payal had turned and opened her arms. Khushi ran to her jiji and hugged her tightly. Both the girls cried and laughed simultaneously. "Aagayi Sanka Devi! Mil liye tohre saraprij (surprise) se!", Buaji wandered into the kitchen. "Buaji!", Khushi shouted as she hugged her Bua. "Amma Bauji bhi aaye hain kya?", Khushi asked eagerly. "Nahi Khushi! Woh Mangalwaar (Tuesday) ko aayenge. Ab sirf hum aayein hain.", Payal replied. The rest of the evening was spent by Khushi discussing her life with Payal. Of course, she did not say anything remotely related to Arnavji or Geet's problem. But she did speak about the Khuranas and her office a lot. Payal was pretty happy to know that Khushi got two new brothers and promised her that the Khuranas will be invited to every function of her marriage.

Place - Khurana Mansion

Maan sighed disappointedly when he noticed what Soni was wearing. It was Monday morning and Maan had selected a white chudidaar for Soni to wear. But when he came for breakfast he noticed Soni wearing a red suit. Moreover she had not selected his clothes either. Khushi had gone back home, then what was stopping her? Maan wondered. As soon as breakfast was over, Maan caught Soni's wrist. Soni who had totally ignored him was surprised by his action. He dragged her away outside in front of the family. NT and Dadima giggled while Dev struggled to keep straight face. Soni's face turned red but Maan was not sure whether it was due to embarrassment or anger. He dragged her to the garden and stopped. She wrenched her hand out of his grip. "What the hell is your problem, Soni?", Maan shouted. "Yahi sawaal mein aapse pooch rahi hoon. Aapko hua kya hai? Aise kheechke laane ka kya matlab hai?", Geet shouted back. Maan looked away. Calm down, Maan! Chillaane se kuch hoga nahi! "Dekho Soni…", "Aap Dekhiye!", Soni cut in. "Aise kheechke laane ka mtlab bataayiye!" "What is wrong with you? Tum pehle aisi na thi!", Maan sighed. He was tired of this fight. He just wanted his sweet loving Soni back; not this ignoring indifferent girl in front of him. Geet felt her heart melt at his expression. Jo bhi sab in kuch dino mein hua yeh sab mein inki kya galti hai? She spoke, "Maan! Mujhe koi problem nahi hai. Main theek hoon." Maan came close to her and gripped her shoulders. "You are fine right?", Maan questioned with concern evident in his eyes. Geet nodded her head. "Kuch problem hua toh mujhe bataaogi right?" Geet nodded again. Maan hugged her. Geet felt her eyes tearing. He was hugging his Soni, not her. Maan left to work and Geet went back into the house.

Place - Outside Khurana Mansion

Arnav was shocked when Khushi, his Afreen, resolutely marched towards his car and sat into it. What happened to 'Avoid Arnav' game? Arnav raised an eyebrow. He shook his head and sat into the car and drove off. Khushi had decided to conquer her fear and when she came out of KC she marched towards Arnav's car with her head raised high. And here she was sitting in the car ignoring him, her heart and stomach. Darr ke aage jeet hai! That was Khushi's mantra today. Arnav was shocked to notice that Khushi remained silent today. So avoiding has ended and ignoring began! He sighed heavily. I will make you talk, Afreen! "Buaji kaisi hai?", Arnav enquired. "Huh!", Khushi replied intelligently. Arnav rolled his eyes at her. "Buaji! Tumhaare gharwaale! How are they?" "Sab theek hain! Kal buaji waapis aa gayi aur hum abhi phir se ghar mein rehne lage. Toh aap Laxminagar mein humein chod dena! Aur jiji aayi hui hai unke saath!" Even though she talked a lot, her voice did not have her usual enthusiasm. Rest of the ride was spent in silence with Khushi ignoring Arnav not knowing what to say and Arnav driving while going through topics to talk to her. Soon they reached Laxminagar and Khushi got off. But before she could close the door, she got an idea. She turned around and looked at him with excitement printed on her face. Oh No! Not that look! Arnav thought. That look spells doom for me! "Arnavji! Aap humaari jiji se kyun nahi milte?", Khushi spoke. Arnav was glad that her voice had regained the usual spark. As his brain registered her question, his happiness turned into horror. No way! He can't meet Payal. Payal will recognize him for sure! No! Can't meet her! Khushi looked at him expectantly. He sighed thinking for an excuse. Suddenly, his brain supplied him with an idea. "I have a meeting!" "Toh kal?", she spoke hopefully. "How about sometime later." Arnav spoke in a scared tone and Khushi's face comically turned dull. Suddenly, Arnav got an idea. "Tumhaari behen ki sagaai mein I am invited right? I will meet her there. After all 20 days are only left." Khushi nodded happily and walked away. She did not even notice that while she had told Arnav about her sister's engagement she never told him the exact date. So how did he know the date? Khushi did not notice and Arnav was saved from his revelation of his real identity. Afreen! Till your sister's engagement I will get an 'I Love you' out of you and who knows may be there might be a double engagement! Arnav smirked and drove away after waving Khushi bye.
