The sound of glass breaking brought Arnav back to the present. He tried to register the source of the sound and found few pieces of glass shattered on the floor. Those pieces where from her photo and it lay on the same place where she had stood back years ago and had given him his life changing news of his becoming a father. It was as if even the winds were mourning her loss. Even they missed her aura, which she got into this dark and lonely room of his..

He scanned the walls of his bedroom which were filled with her pictures, their pictures, their wedding photo
how beautiful she had looked on that day, how he had not been able to keep his eyes to himself, how he was teased innumerable times by NK and Akash, how Di had pulled a stupid prank on his Suhaag Raat, how he had punished Khushi for being a part of this, how they had become one on that day
Raaton ko sirhaane, baasein muskane

He slowly bent down and picked up the glass pieces careful of not hurting himself. Though the pain which she had caused was much worse than any sort of physical pain. He picked up the photo and kept it on the dressing table. It still had her things on it right from her bangle set, to her creams, powder and accessories ,to her vermillion box, to the box containing her mangal sutra...

Teri Aahatein nahi hai., nahi hai...
And with the familiar pain which he had felt years ago asked the same question which he asks everyday while looking at her photo, "Why did you leave me Khushi? ". With that said he started remembering that day which had snatched his other half forever. Life had always been cruel to him right from his child hood days till today. Why was God so envious of his happiness? Though he was able to handle everyone after her death and had been able to put a facade infront of their family members but only he knew how broken and incomplete he was from inside. He died the day his Khushi had left him to join their parents. He always looked at the sky to the brightest star among them and he knew that it was his Khushi.
*Chan chan chan chan*
"Daddy ! I came first in the class". An eight year old Arushi came running towards her dad with her report card in one hand and a trophy in another.
He quickly wiped his tears on hearing her voice and put up a smile and said
"Congrats Aru! I knew my sweetie would do it again. Daddy is so proud of you". He quickly took her into an embrace and kissed her long hair. Just like her he thought.
When they withdrew Arushi noticed his red eyes
"Daddy were you cryinG? What happened? Did Anjali bua scold you? I will tell her not to scold you and let you jalebi's with me". Suddenly her eyes fell on the broken photo frame. She quickly picked up the frame rushed to her room and brought a new one. She took the picture from the dressing table and put it in the frame . She then placed it on the table and with a satisfied smile turned to look at him
"There we go Daddy! No need to cry. I got a new frame for Amma. I bought this few days back when I had gone for shopping with Payal Mausi. I knew that red is your favorite color and yellow is Amma's favorite color hence I bought this since it had both the colors. I hope you liked it Daddy? "
Arnav who was ecstatic to see his daughter living up to the name of her mother of spreading happiness quickly rushed to her and twirled her around his arms
"Your mother will be so proud of you Aru! "
" I know! Now where is my treat? "
"Treat? Hmmm of course princess tell me what do you want? "
" I want hmm, I want to have Jalebis! " She sqeauled in excitement.
Arnav laughed after hearing this. Something which he had forgotten to do. Years ago it was Khushi who had broken his hard and concreate shell and had made him laugh and now it was a part of Khushi who made him laugh- his Arushi!
" You know sweety! This is something which you have inherited from your amma . Of course along with her doe-like eyes, noes, skin color and her anklets. Even she loved to eat jalebis and i am happy that you are not diabetic just like your daddy"
With that he lifted her and went to the kitchen to spend one of their Daddy daughter time.
In a minute the whole of Raizada Mansion including nani, mami, mama, Akash,Payal , her son Ansh, Anjali , Aman -anjali's new husband and their daughter Aashika had gathered to be a part in her celebration . And once again the place was filled with joy, happiness and the kid's laughter.
Up their in heaven, some one looked down through the clouds to the two most precious person and smiled a watery one. She knew that he would be able to cope up with her loss, she knew that he would be able to raise their daughter well. She knew that RM people wiould be able to find their lost happiness again. She just knew.
" I am proud of you Arnav"

NOTE- ok guys before you throw chappals at me for writing this part...
i would just like to tell you that..
many times life does not go according to our terms and conditions, we become greedy and ask for more but in the end feel disappointed...
in that case picking up our broken pieces and moving on is the best that we could do...
because thats the true spirit of life!
and also because happiness can be found in the way of darkness if one remebers to switch on the lights...
