Sonam's Birthday
It was afternoon and still no sign of Rishi. Sonam was damn angry. She could not believe that Rishi forgot her birthday. How could he?? She decided that she won't b talking to her so called best friend.
Khushi: Kya hua Chhutki. Tum udaas kyu ho??
Sonam: Kuch nahi Dii. M just thinking about some work. Nothing much.
Sonam gave a fake smile to Khushi but Arjun and Rohan could clearly see that it's not the reason.
Rohan: Princess tumne jhooth bolna kb se shuru kr dia?? Kya hua hai??
Arjun: Rohan tujhe toh pta hai k kya hua hai. Fir kyu puch k uska mood spoil kr raha hai??
Rohan: Arre Princess wo busy hoga. Why r u being so upset?? Aa jaegi call. Abi din khatam thodi hua hai.
Sonam: I know bhai. I just wanna b alone for some time. Please don't disturb me for some time.
Rohan: But Princess...
Sonam was gone. She didn't listen to what Rohan was saying.
Rohan: Arjun hume usse bata dena chahiye. I can't see her upset.
Arjun: Oye chup chap baith. Surprise spoil mat kr. Nahi toh wo aa k ladega. N we all know k usse Princess ko handle krna aata hai. So no worries.
Khushi was listening to all this but she was not able to understand whom they were talking about.
Khushi: Bhai aap dono kiski baat kr rahe ho?? Koi aane wala hai kya??
Rohan: Haan Pari. Aaj Rishi aa raha hai. Sonam ka best friend. Har saal Sonam k birthday pe hum sb London jaate hain. Iss saal b plan toh yehi tha lekin Rishi ne kaha k wo India aa raha hai or iss baar hum Princess ka birthday yahin celebrate karein. Sonam ko zyada gathering pasand nahi hai. Wo toh humari line hi aisi hai k media ka interest rehta hai humari life mein. Isliye har saal hum iss din London jaate hain thoda family time spend krne k liye.
Khushi: Toh Chhutki isliye naraaz hai k Rishi ne usse abi tak phone nahi kia. Toh hum abi ja k usse bata dete hain k Rishi khud aane wala hai. Wo khush ho jaegi.
Arjun: Bilkul nahi. Rishi usse surprise dena chahta hai. Ek saal baad milne wale hain dono. Hume spoil nahi krna chahiye fun.
The door bell rang announcing the most awaited arrival.
Rohan went to open the door and found Rishi standing in front of him smiling widely.
Rishi: Hey bhai!! I so missed u all. Princess kahan hai??
Rohan (teasingly): Aate hi Princess?? Humse b haal chal puch lia kr kbi.
Rishi (teasing back): Ab aapka kyun puchu?? Lavanya bhabi bata hi dengi DETAIL mein. (winks)
Rohan: Hahaha. I missed u bro. Aao Lavanya se milwata hu.
Rohan introduced Rishi to Lavanya. They became friends very soon. Lavanya liked this cute guy as he was fun loving and witty. Next he was introduced to Payal and Khushi.
Rishi to Khushi: OMG!! Aap seriously Pari Dii ho?? I can't believe this. Princess ne finally aapko dhoond lia. M so so happy.
Arjun: Bas bas Rishi. U need to handle Princess first. As expected, madam ka mood bohat kharab hai.
Rishi: Don't worry bhai. Mood abi theek kr dete hain.
Rishi moved towards Sonam's room and silently without making any sound, he entered to find Sonam sleeping. The tear tracks on her cheeks indicated that she had been crying before sleeping. He felt guilty for making her cry and that too on her birthday. She had turned 18 today. Since last 5 years, Rishi had always been the first person to wish her on this day.
Rishi: M so sorry Princess.
He went near her. He was about to kiss her on lips but realised what he was going to do and kissed her forehead instead.
He caressed her cheeks and wiped the tears. This as enough to wake Sonam and when she saw Rishi, she was so happy that she forgot to b angry on him and hugged him. They were meeting after one year and Sonam felt as if she was dreaming. Finally she remembered that she was angry and so she pulled back.
Sonam (pouting): I hate u Rish. Ab aa rahe ho tum?? N u forgot what it is today.
Rishi: M sorry Princess. Lekin agar main pehle bata deta k main aane wala hu toh to itna warm welcome kaise milta??
Sonam knew he was talking about their hug but still ignored it.
Sonam: Tum jao. Mujhe koi baat nahi krni tumse. Aise b dost hote hain jinhe kuch yaad hi nahi rehta.
Rishi: Tumhe sach mein lagta hai k mai bhul gya??
Sonam turned towards him with a questioning look.
Rishi (with a gift in his hand): Happy birthday Princess.
Sonam was so happy that finally he wished. She was waiting for those words. She took the gift from his hands and hugged him tightly.
Sonam: Thank u thank u thank u so much Rish. I so glad that u remembered.
Rishi: Agar bhul jata toh ab tk toh mera murder ho chuka hota. Or mujhe meri jaan bohat pyaari hai.
Sonam (slapped him playfully): Shut up Rish!!
Rishi: Gift khol k nahi dekhna??
Sonam opened the gift to find a poster size picture of her and Rishi during one of their fun moments. She was very happy and touched by this gesture of her friend. She hugged him again to make him understand how much she liked it as she couldn't put her feelings in words and Rishi understood.
Rishi: Chalo ab ja k fresh ho jao n come downstairs. Sb wait kr rahe hain tumhari. N by the way congrats. Pari Dii mil gai.
Sonam: Haan mil gai. Lekin or b bohat kuch ho gaya hai iss sb mein.
Rishi: Kya baat hai Princess?? Batao mujhe.
Sonam told him everything about Khushi. She knew that Rishi always supported her and he will do the same now.
Rishi: Tumne koi action nahi lia ASR k against?? Tum toh aisi nahi ho.
Sonam: Dii se promise kai hai maine k mai kuch nahi karungi. Can't do anything.
Rishi: Don't worry. Mai aa gaya hu na. Sb theek ho jaega. N by the way i forgot to tell u. Sapna Dii is getting married.
Sapna was Rishi's elder sister and she was a well known hair stylist. She had always considered Sonam as her younger sister and was very close to her. She had done her MBA from Australia but she did not want to b involved in business. So she took her hobby as career and became a hair stylist.
Sonam (with fake anger): Ye tum mujhe ab bata rahe ho?? How dare u hide this from me?? Koun hai wo lucky guy jo humse Dii ko churane wala hai??
Rishi: Unka naam Nand Kishore hai. But we call him NK. Bohat funny hai. Unki hindi toh pathetic hai. But he loves Dii a lot. Pic dekhogi??
Sonam: Of course.
Rishi showed her the pic. Sonam liked NK. They made such a cute couple. Finally Sonam freshened up and came down with Rishi. The news of Sapna's wedding was given to others. Then Rishi told them that as NK's family is in India, they have come here to fix the dates.
Arjun: Ab samajh mein aya k iss baar Princess ka birthday hum London mein kyu nahi celebrate kr rahe.
Rishi: Yeah. By the way maine aapko pic nahi dikhai na. Here u go.
Rishi showed the photograph of the couple to everyone and all of them liked the couple.
Khushi: Ye toh Nanhe ji hain.
Rishi: Kya?? Koun??
Payal: NK bhai. Aakash ki maasi k bete. Ye Australia se hain. Haina??
Rishi: OMG!! Wow!! Aap log jante hain inhe??
Khushi: Ye humare bohat achhe dost hain. Or inki hindi toh bas...
Rishi: I know. But he's a very nice guy. Wo b humare saath aye the but he left after dropping me here. Meri family ko unhone ghar pe drop kr dia tha but i had to meet Princess first. So he dropped me here.
Sonam: Hadd ho gai. Mere aas paas ki sabhi ladkiyon ko ho kya gaya hai?? Sabko shaadi krne k liye Raizadas ya unke rishtedaar hi pasand aa rahe hain.
Everybody laughed at this comment. They were chatting the whole day catching up with all that they had missed. Khushi and Payal felt that they had always been a part of this family. It did not feel like they r among some strangers. Finally they decided to get ready as the guests were expected in some time. Sonam was wearing a white suit and was looking like an angel.
The Raizadas, the Guptas and Rishi's family arrived. They were all happy about this get together. Arnav was happy that he will b finally getting to see Khushi. He knew he had hurt her but he also knew that he can't survive without her. The past month had been no less than death for him. He had tried to keep himself involved in his work but that was never enough to keep his mind away from his wife. Khushi was his necessity just like oxygen is necessary for a human being. He had decided that it was high time n he will try to apologize to her if he come across her.
When Sonam saw Arnav, she knew that he will try to talk to Khushi. But she had decided that she won't say anything. She wanted to see her sister happy and if that happiness lies with Arnav, so b it. She knew that she will always support her Dii but she didn't want to get involved in the couple's matter directly unless she is required. The party was going on well. Everybody was having a good time. Akash was able to convince Payal enough to have a civil conversation with her. He knew he had a long way to go but he was glad that at least Payal was not ignoring him now.
Rishi had sensed sadness in Sonam's eyes but he didn't say anything. They cut the cake and then everybody had dinner. Nobody noticed that Khushi was missing and so was Arnav.
Khushi had walked to her room as whenever she looked at Arnav, she was reminded of all that happened in RM. She was crying lost in her thoughts and she hadn't noticed Arnav following her. Arnav felt pained to see her tears but he knew he had to talk to her.
Arnav: Khushi!!
Khushi had sensed his presence before hearing him call out her name but choose to ignore it as she didn't want to face him, not now.
Arnav: Please Khushi. I want to...
Khushi (cutting in between): Arnav ji hume aapse koi baat nahi krni. Aap jaiye yahan se. Hume akela chhodh dijiye.
Arnav had expected such a reaction but how could he leave her alone.
Arnav: Khushi please ek baar meri baat toh sun lo.
Khshi: Humne kaha na aapse. Hume koi baat nahi krni.
Arnav was never known as a cool tempered person. He felt his anger rising. How dare she ignore him like that?? Here he's trying to apologize and she's showing attitude?? Arnav held her from her shoulders and turned her towards him with such a force that she directly collided in his chest. Arnav knew that he was being harsh on her but he was too angry to care.
Arnav (through gritted teeth): Tumhari problem kya hai Khushi?? Mai tumse baat krne i koshish kr raha hu or tum...
Khushi (angry at Arnav): Or hume aapse baat nahi krni. Kuch nahi sunna hume. Jb hum aapse baat krne ki koshish kr rahe the tb aap nahi sunna chahte the or aaj hum nahi sunna chahte. Samjhe aap??
Arnav (very angry): How dare u Khushi Kumari Gupta SINGH RAIZADA?? Tumhari himmat kaise hui mujhse aise baat krne ki?? Mai tumse maafi maangne ki koshish kr raha hu or tum...
Khushi: Aapki maafi sb theek kr degi Mr. Raizada?? Aapki maafi se jo humne saha kya wo sb badal jaega?? Aapki maafi se jo humare apno ne humse nafrat bhare shabd kahe wo mit jaenge?? Nahi Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada. Kuch nahi badlega aapki maafi se. Aapne humse shaadi ki sirf apni nafrat ki wajah se. Aapne humse ek baar baat krna b zaruri nahi samjha jbki uss sbme humari koi galati nahi thi.
Arnav: Sb tumhari galat thi Khushi. Tum meri zindagi mein ayi ye tumhari galati thi. Tum mujhse baar baar takrati rahi ye tumhari galati thi. Tum jb b mujhse mili kuch na kuch galat hota raha hai. Kbi mera fashion show kharab kia, kbi meri modal ka fur coat spoil kia. And as if ye kafi nahi tha, tumne meri Dii k pati ko b apne jaal mein fasaya. Na tum mujhse takrati, na Shyam tumse milta or na hi wo aisi harkat krta. Sb tumhari galati hai Khushi. Sb kuch.
Khushi had never thought that she could b hurt beyond what she was already experiencing. But now she came to know that Arnav Singh Raizada was capable of hurting her to such extremes which she had never imagined.
Arnav realised as soon as those words left his mouth that whatever he had said should not have been said. He regretted his words now. How could he blame Khushi for all that when she herself was the victim?? He wanted to apologize but the guilt was too much that he couldn't stand it any longer. He left the room leaving a devastated Khushi behind. Tears were flowing freely down her cheeks. She felt like Arnav had shown her a mirror. He was right. yes it was all because of her. It was all her fault. She understood and accepted it now.
