The burning issue in this episode was the deteriorating relationship between Aditya Vyas and Mohan Bhatnagar , highlighting the transition of Addu becoming Aditya Vyas Bhatnagar (starting with the name changing form), or just plain Addu Bhatnagar . Some one once said : "No matter how much of a jerk your step dad appears to be sometimes, they didn't just marry your mom, they agreed to love and care for you as well and that means something." ~ [...]---"stepdad makes several hard choices over and over again. Even when he doesn't know what to choose or how to choose, he never stops being willing to choose. He chose us over the rest. "
This is exactly the position of Mohan Bhatnagar , who is trying to be much more than just a parent, but a friend too; he made the choice to love Megha's kids, when he never had to-----but I guess Addu is still too young to understand the implications of this.
To Addu it seems that his whole world is turning topsy -turvy with the advent of his step dad Mohan Bhatnagar in their lives. From Addu's angry food throwing tantrum , it seems that Mohan could gauge the multitude of insecurities and emotional issues that Addu seems to be dealing with to some extent , because he too was a rebellious (step ?)child , and could relate to the antagonism and threats to run away that Addu was dishing out . Addu's greatest fear seems to be that Megha's attention towards him is no longer undivided , and that he might ultimately lose her love to his new contender ----his step dad , if he shows some sign of weakness by relenting . Hence the jealous rage and stubborn denial of accepting the Bhatnagar name, prompted by teasing at school.
I thought Monu's stance of trying to divert Addu's attention , in order to ease Megha's growing exasperation with the explosive situation , was heart warming-------"A man never stands as tall as when he kneels to help a child." I loved the fact that Monu lost his patience when he saw Addu misbehaving with Megha----indicating the extent of his love and respect for her. Monu thanking Megha for allowing him to give his name to the kids was also such a sweet gesture that my heart melted -----. I loved the subtlety in the portrayal of the increasing physical desires , showing Megha's wet back , seductive looks and playful frolicking . I repeat----Meghan are sooo in need of that Honeymoon ! A honeymoon that the she-devil Renu is hell bent on spoiling-------but I thought the dialogues with Renu describing herself as a saint to Sarojji were ROFL. All in all I would like to give a thumbs up to the NBT team for a great well coordinated effort in portraying the intricacies and issues relating to the children's adjustment to a step-parent. I'm waiting for the day when like Nanhi , Addu will accept Monu as well and say : "I never got to choose you, you just became my dad. So I'm grateful to my mother for the great taste that she had."
