The burning issue in this episode was the deteriorating relationship between Aditya Vyas and Mohan Bhatnagar , highlighting the transition of Addu becoming Aditya Vyas Bhatnagar (starting with the name changing form), or just plain Addu Bhatnagar . Some one once said : "No matter how much of a jerk your step dad appears to be sometimes, they didn't just marry your mom, they agreed to love and care for you as well and that means something." ~ [...]---"stepdad makes several hard choices over and over again. Even when he doesn't know what to choose or how to choose, he never stops being willing to choose. He chose us over the rest. "

This is exactly the position of Mohan Bhatnagar , who is trying to be much more than just a parent, but a friend too; he made the choice to love Megha's kids, when he never had to-----but I guess Addu is still too young to understand the implications of this.

To Addu it seems that his whole world is turning topsy -turvy with the advent of his step dad Mohan Bhatnagar in their lives. From Addu's angry food throwing tantrum , it seems that Mohan could gauge the multitude of insecurities and emotional issues that Addu seems to be dealing with to some extent , because he too was a rebellious (step ?)child , and could relate to the antagonism and threats to run away that Addu was dishing out . Addu's greatest fear seems to be that Megha's attention towards him is no longer undivided , and that he might ultimately lose her love to his new contender ----his step dad , if he shows some sign of weakness by relenting . Hence the jealous rage and stubborn denial of accepting the Bhatnagar name, prompted by teasing at school.

I thought Monu's stance of trying to divert Addu's attention , in order to ease Megha's growing exasperation with the explosive situation , was heart warming-------"A man never stands as tall as when he kneels to help a child." I loved the fact that Monu lost his patience when he saw Addu misbehaving with Megha----indicating the extent of his love and respect for her. Monu thanking Megha for allowing him to give his name to the kids was also such a sweet gesture that my heart melted -----. I loved the subtlety in the portrayal of the increasing physical desires , showing Megha's wet back , seductive looks and playful frolicking . I repeat----Meghan are sooo in need of that Honeymoon ! A honeymoon that the she-devil Renu is hell bent on spoiling-------but I thought the dialogues with Renu describing herself as a saint to Sarojji were ROFL. All in all I would like to give a thumbs up to the NBT team for a great well coordinated effort in portraying the intricacies and issues relating to the children's adjustment to a step-parent. I'm waiting for the day when like Nanhi , Addu will accept Monu as well and say : "I never got to choose you, you just became my dad. So I'm grateful to my mother for the great taste that she had."

agree with each word of yours. a well written and well expressed post. mohan has many feelings brewing inside him. he's not only a newly wedded guy but also has a responsibility of proving to be a good father.

children often take time to accept a step dad.if nanhi would not have been such good friends with mohan even she would also have problems with mohan.

mohan has a long way to go. he's dad first then megha's husband!!

100% agree with ur post...

IT's very true step-parent - children relationship is not as easy to handle...CV's are good at this as of now...I strongly believe they will definitely handle it well, because this is NBT.😛 😃

It's very difficult for a child to accept New someone else as his/her parent all of a sudden. It's very intricate feeling for them & definitely not everyone will know the knack of making the children accept...Hope Mohan will succeed in his mission very soon...Looking forward to see how he does this, as he himself has been shown as a Father hater...😛

Super fantastic post on the current issue in the show. Honestly I love your analysis always.

Coming to the point, I'm also loving the fact that the CVs are concentrating on this. Really felt bad for both Addu and Mohan. My heart went out for the poor kiddo when he started crying in the morning scene and felt the same for Mohan when Addu threw away the plate, giving him the deja vu of his own childhood. *sigh*

Hopefully Janmasthami celebrations and especially Mohan helping Addu in breaking the pot this time, which I'm looking forward to very eagerly and much more than anything else, will make them friends and then gradually as the days will pass, make them papa and beta. 😳 Can't wait for Monday. In the promo, the sight of Mohan climbing up with Addu on his back was just too adorable for words.

Regarding Mohan and Megha, they so need to be alone cause the fire they created in the first scene was enough to make us heavily sigh and burn our screens. Hopefully we will get similar dose in Nepal track and I'm expecting this after I knew that Guru's parents will babysit the kids.

That's all from me. :))

@ tazneen :
thanx for sharing. i'm really happy that the creatives have focussed on this grave issue faced by children ..personally i think addu will take a lot of time to accept mohan as his new dad, at most, they can develop a friendly relation post the Dahi-Handi incident, but not more than that.
and regarding mohan being a step-child, i have already pointed this out as a possibility months back when Indu was telling Megha in the Shiv mandir to get out of mohan's life for good, if you remember her dialogues from that episode, you will see that never for once she taunted megha with " widhwa hokar bhi mere jawan bete par nazar daal rahi hai " sort of usual dirty taunts and accusations, rather she kept focussing on mohan's immaturity and inability to shoulder the responsibilities that would come with marrying megha and fathering her two kids.
that episode made me think .. which mother belittles her child like this ?? coz mostly in such cases, the boy's family finds fault with the girl itself. but since this was not the case here, so it leaves us with questions - is it possible that Mr.Bhatnagar was Indu's second shot in life ?? was mohan her son from her first spouse and hence the step-child who was unaccepted by his new dad ?? did Indu not want history to repeat itself coz she felt mohan would be the same treat the kids the same way as he was treated by Mr.Bhatnagar and hence dead-against MM marriage??
if the answers to all these questions is yes, then it can open up many new aspects of exploring the characters and the show. all they need now is to solve the Riddhima issue ASAP and focus on it.

Thanks all for the taking the time and patience to read and comment-----@polly_03 if your prediction is right then a lot of things seem to fall into place and I think the revelation of this truth by Monu to Megha might serve to strengthen their bond and win over Addu as well-----could be an interesting turn of events-----post Ridz issue solved of course !
