Those that are well-acquainted with Ekta Soaps would know that Balaji Telefilms has a habit of butchering good storylines with potential, and they do it in style š new things are often promised but then it turns out that the same old stuff is being recycled. So I don't wanna raise my level of expectation but I'm hoping that the CVs of KHTV develop this interesting storyline between Mona and Vineet further.
I've been reading some arguments where people have suggested that Mona doesn't need a man in her life and should be independent. I partly agree with that. Even I would like to see Mona become independent, or shall I say - continue to be independent, since she already has embraced her new found independence. I would love to see her continue to stand on her own two feet and for her to explore her identity further. However, falling in love again does not mean that Mona should lose her independence. On the contrary, I would consider it as another step in her journey of finding herself.
Mona can remain independent with a good companion. Someone who will understand her and will stand by her regardless. She needs a man that will treat her as an equal, not inferior. A man that will appreciate her for who she is and I believe that man is Vineet. He and Mona share mutual respect and a very good understanding. He will happily support her in whatever she chooses to do. On the other hand there was Pradeep who battered her confidence and treated her like a doormat. He seems to have issues with his wife becoming economically empowered and assertive, and yet loves that quality in his girlfriend. Oh, the height of double standards!
So yes, I am rooting for Mona-Vineet pairing and I would very much like to see Balaji show a woman of three kids become independent and fall in love once again and enjoy life with a man that genuinely appreciates and deserves her. I know this is just a serial made for entertainment but for once I would like Balaji to move away from the typcial formula and show that the average woman can start from scratch and live again.
Side note: I adore the guy that plays Vineet. I remember him in a serial on Zee and I've adored him since then. I think it's his height. I like tall men š
