Few points here

1. Why did khushi leave RM ? is it becoz of di, contract or self respect ?

2. At least it is clear form today's episode tht it is becoz of contract. Then what was the need to lie ?how long she is can hide the truth of marriage. Does she expects it to be under wraps for life long ? doesn't her stay in gh going to raise questions ? does it make any sense to lie when you have come here to stay in gupta house all your life ? absolutely nothing..decide girl..

3. If she left RM for di sake just 12 days before the contract term, what good does it make. Though she lied with good intensions , it did not do any good instead made the matters worst by creating misunderstandings between the same di for whose sake she claimed to left the house and the man she claims to love. This is not sacrifice where one makes the life of your loved ones much more difficult to live. She is not child not to understand how ASR is shuttling between GH and RM. this is the very reason why her love for arnav is being raised frequently.

4. If it is self respect or pride or love.. she herself doesnot know what is it she wants'

5. I definitely wud like to see that kind of understanding from khushi too that vanished in thin airs after shyam went out of their life'

6. Anjali- my sympathy again goes to her'a woman torn between web of lies and truths'once again her faith, trust is broken by another important person in her life arnav'

7. it is ebrassing to watch grief ridden family ( ofcourse except anjali everbodyare happy bubble ) on one side and romance/ pride/ self resect ( whatever name u cangive )in the name of sacrifice on the other hand...trp's has proved it..

only consistent factor so far is ASR...

<font color="#fff">@</font><font color="#0000ff"> satya</font>' beautiful insight in to the minds of leads'correctly said it unvails the complications thae lovers put themselves in to unnecessarily..( talking of this track only )

@<font color="#ff0000"> anna </font>' as usual very good analysis'from a commoner point of view..

<strong><font color="#ff0000">@ mpk</font>- thoughtful views'

hats off yaar! Dats amazing. I also hav d same question! What was Kushi planning to do or say to both d families once d contract expires? Another series of Lies?

'ya, may be something like 'khamlesh bhakri' has analysd Arnavji's kundali n has said dat, 'We cant live together for 1 yr' otherwise, Arnavji wil sneeze...?

And followd by her monologue...

'chal Kushi, sab teek hai' agle saal thak ka jhoot ready hai... Chal, jalebi banathe hai'.. Humein aur koi rastha nahi'?

House of cards… seeing Tanths' title, what came to my mind was that Khushi's lies are collapsing in on herself. Both the people she cares most about; Anjali and Arnav, have seen through her lies, though through different means. Where Anjali needed to hear it from Buaji, all Arnav needed was to hear the hesitation in her voice, the little stuttering that's telling of when she's lying and he knew. The scene that stood above all else yesterday; for it showed us how deep emotions ran in Arnav Singh Raizada; atheist, non-believer, cynic turned lover, husband.

I couldn't help but revisit that day when he disabused Khushi of her illusions of marriage and happiness, of a fairytale world. The "Sapno ki Duniya" that he criticized her of daydreaming about; he desperately wants to give her that today, only, she's already had her dose of reality, of the "pathar world" to believe in his promises anymore.

Onto the scene; Khushi's words, the apparently goody-goody tone, create doubts in his mind. If it had been true, she'd have taken the chance to blast at him, not given him calm explanations. "Hame jaana pada," is so not Khushi.

His allegations are proved right and his temper is ignited; she dares to lie to him. He, who has opened up to her completely, shared each of his weaknesses; how much more will he have to keep on the line to get her to respond, react or atleast acknowledge him?

For a second time, we get the dialogue, "Mujhse jhoot bolne ki himmat." Hasn't she done this before? It pricks him now, and only now, because he is lying to her no more. He's not denying his feelings; he is no more in his "Farak nahi padtha" mode so it pricks him even more.

Anger blinds him; his first and most natural reaction, as he tries to take her back by force; something that he believes, has always worked with Khushi. He is yet to realize that he can never make her happy, no matter what he does, according to his "marzi". That is not the way of love; and its one lesson Arnav Singh Raizada is yet to learn.

It doesn't work; she has another lie ready, one that she knows will convince him. He is initially concerned, believed her lie; until she averts her eyes, pushes aside his concern. Willingly or otherwise, Khushi has always taken Arnav's help when she was hurt. Her calm dismissal, her insistence on not being able to go back with him and most of all, her continually averting her eyes from him all make him suspicious.

Once again, he asks her to look at him; she denies. He decides to bring her lies to light in the same way; through trickery. Tit for tat; he wants to catch her lie immediately. There is an urgency in the way he does it, he wants nothing more than to quickly settle the issue and take her back home. There is no need for either of them to acknowledge the giant elephant in the room. He gives her a chance; she refuses to take them. He's ready to take her back Zabardasti; she's equipped with lies upto her neck to escape having to return. He catches her lies even before she utters or even thinks of them; yet she refuses to give up. If he had pushed Khushi to a corner with no way to turn but towards him, Khushi has turned the situation such that he has no option but to recognize the damage he has done to her mind; to her dreams. Marriage; something Khushi had most looked forward to in life, is the one thing she looks upon with distaste and a complete lack of want right now. Such is the effect the past six months have had on her; did he really expect her to let go that easily?

What happens next is one of the most poignant yieldings I've ever seen; Arnav Singh Raizada, who has always had his way, done things in the way he pleases, is forced, is made to bring up something he doesn't want to. He's being made the face the consequences of his actions six months back, standing before him in the form of one stubborn Khushi Kumari Gupta. He gives in, and how!

"Problem das din ka hai; ye sab tum contract ki wajah se kar rahi ho na?' – A sigh escapes him as he gets to the point; something they had been trying everything to avoid. She is surprised, shocked that he has linked it to the Contract. And yet, she doesn't correct him; she doesn't tell him about Anjali, a more major factor. She remains quiet, letting him talk.

"Bache huye das din… shaadi se aazadi" – He daren't go beyond that, he wouldn't utter the words, complete the sentence, for fear that they became real. He, who had so easily spoken about giving her aazadi from the marriage when he married her, is now loathe to even mention it. She is no less, the very word that haunts her, "Freedom"; something she thinks will be lost to her if she returns to RM, making her heart do palpitation at a mere mention. She gives him a quick look but thankfully, he stops.

"ye sab hone dogi tum? Hamari shaadi yun hi khatam hone doongi?" – This one line was depictive of what Arnav expects from her side; the fight. She's always been the one to push it on his face that they were married; that she had rights, that what they were living in was a "Marriage". But now, the zeal in her, the willful nature has gone down the drain, shocking him. He wants her to fight for them to be together, to keep the relationship bound; only then can he rest peacefully. Only with Khushi by his side can he atleast try to live a normal life.

And sharply comes the reply, with a few added adjectives; "Dokha, Sautha, Sharth." All the words that he had used to prick her heart are now sorely turned back against him, making him flinch each time they are uttered.

"Das din main baaki sab khatam" – His worst fear rears its head from his own words, rendering both of them wordless. There is no way anything could ever end between them; both of then know that and in that one moment of silence, both of them acknowledge that.

"Koi matlab Nahi?" "Aap sab jaanthe hain" – An indirect acknowledgement, he knows they mean the world to her and she knows he understands her better than she herself has. A mention of the others, an attempt to see if he'll pull back, like the last time she mentioned Anjali and her happiness.

But no, not this time; Arnav will hold on till the thread snaps and then some more until she gives in, agrees to come back in his life. He pulls out the one thing she's been trying to avoid; exposure. She understands the undercurrents to his words this time; no bleating around the bush. She agrees, but she wants a reassurance; one he is not ready to give.

Will write more once the scene gets over(I think it hasn't, hopefully!)

Titliyas and Tilchatas:

A glimpse of the woman behind the child – Arnav today, for probably the first time, wasn't in the mood for indulgence. He knew Khushi was lying and instead of letting her get caught and cornered by herself, he pushed at her until her walls of lies broke through. What he found behind it was not the tantrums of a whimsical kid but the broken heart of a woman holding onto the pieces of her sanity. It dawns on him the extent of hurt he's inflicted on her with that one word, "Contract".

What's a contract? Its an agreement between two people each possessing an obligation to fulfill their part of the contract.

This, is what Khushi says their marriage is; an obligation she had to fulfill for a period of time, which she has. But that isn't all she thinks about the marriage; it isn't with so casual a stance that she looks back at the past six months of her life. Hence, the words that the marriage that he is so intent on preserving is a farce in reality, an illusion that she feels is engulfing her in its sweet depths. She's retaliating, her past memories of hurt and pain never forgotten. This time, she has much at stake; if Arnav suddenly turns the Shaitan, she loses not just her heart but also her situation in society, her place in both the families and most of all, a love that is most precious to her.

She wants to move away citing the Contract as the reason to Arnav and Anjali as the reason to herself. But is it? Khushi has always had the keenest sense of self preservation; all the smiles, all the concern for everyone except herself, all the child-like behavior is the way she protects herself from harm. It is the same reason that has made her leave RM; because she wants to brace herself, prepare herself for when the blow will come from Arnav; the hammer to her heart which had started dreaming about finding her Rajkumar in Arnav.

She has discounted one thing here; in the past, whenever Arnav has hurt her, it was his denial or anger with himself that had made him act so. Now, neither is his moving factor; his desperation, his utter need for Khushi in his life is what is making him move mountain and earth to get her back.

Fear and desperation makes a man more irrational than anger; this is true for Arnav Singh Raizada more than anybody else. He's acted this way before; and we've been quite caustic of his behavior. He wasn't justified then in the eyes of Khushi; he isn't justified in her eyes now. But in his own mind, Arnav has redeemed himself; for Khushi. Back then, during the Office days, he left no stone unturned, pulled every string possible to make her life hell, to push her out of his life because she, somehow, ended up boomeranging back in. Now, he is doing much the same; he's pushing her to her limits, trying his best to take a blow at her weak points, to corner her. So that she walks out of his life? That's where he has undergone a change; now, Arnav Singh Raizada wants Khushi Kumari Gupta in his life; as close to him as possible.

He's been at his cruel best, closing all the stops for Khushi way before she even thinks of the ways and means; being quite a few steps in front so that she doesn't find a way other than back to him. The end justifies the means for him; it has been his way of dealing with things since the beginning; and he is yet to learn otherwise.

Its only when he has Khushi safely within the four walls of his home will Arnav's realization start. Khushi, rightly named a butterfly, will detest being forced to return. Arnav will have to learn that no matter how much you love a butterfly, it doesn't justify you holding it between your fingers, crushing its freedom. Holding it that way forever will give him no happiness; seeing Khushi's spirit broken will make him comprehend that having her so close, he has completely lost her.

It is then that his redemption will start; he has to let her go. He has to let her go, let her decide for herself that she needs him in her life. That is when the Shaitan will finally turn into the Rajkumar for Khushi and she will return back to him with all her love; with no hesitations. Only then will the 'Zabardasti Taamna' Bandhan will break replaced with a 'Saath Janmon ka bandhan'.

Anjali:-

Just one observation; Khushi by lying and Arnav by not revealing the truth, are leading Anjali towards Shyam. Her trust in their words is slowly depleting and if this continues, it would be little to no tough job for Shyam to convince her that they were lying about him and all the accusations thrown at him were lies.

Tid bits:

  1. The bandage on Khushi's leg reminded me of Anjali's braces; not sure if its any connection at all, though.
  2. Anjali thinks of Khushi, voluntarily, for the first time; not in a good light, though it could be perceived as a step ahead.

It might be a little disoriented because I posted in aa hurry; sorry for the mistakes, if any!
