Indira is having severe headache and faints.She looks for a bride for Rishi,makes plans for a better future for her family.This is the story as we see it in Illa Bedi's "Hitler Didi"
Story:My Take
24 hrs. earlier before the big revelation:Indira have a severe headache.Her vision gets blur and she could hear only voices,distinctly the voice of Rishi,which sounds broken.
Scene:Opens in a hospital,where nurses dressed in white are moving about,doctors dressed in green coming out of operation theater.And someone walks towards the ICU;wears the green dress .The door opens and we see Indira lying on the bed with medical equipments attached to her body.The person,who has just entered in talks to the nurse and then comes near Indira,kisses her forehead and places a flower[a blessing from the temple].
This person holds her tightly and tears roll down his cheeks,as he says:"Shrimatiji Aab Toh Uth Jayein,Kabtak Aapne Rishi se Nahein Bolein gi?patta Hain,Aapke Bina Mera Maan Kahin Nahin Lagta.Uth Jayoin Indira,please."
The doctor walks in and quietly places his hands on Rishi's shoulder,"Mr. Rishi yeh reports Aagayein Hain;well the good news is,Aapke wife Kein Haalat Mein Sudhar Dikhrahain Hain,but we're still not sure how long is it going to take.
From day to night,every minute in an hour,Rishi is near her,and he has taken a promise that,he is not going to leave his beloved's side unless she takes his hand in hers and walk together out of the hospital.And within these 720hrs. things have definitely changed;a drastic change,which Indira has always wanted to see in her family members.Munna has become quite responsible as we see him bringing food for Rishi to the hospital everyday,and dropping Ishaan to school.As for the other members of Indira's family,change has touched them also,but it is more like a season,unpredictable.
The Big Day:the 30th day of Indira's life after she found out about her condition:The sunlight falls on Rishi's eyes and he gets up from the couch and draws the curtains and comes near Indira and kisses her forehead and wishes her,"Good morning sweetheart!Patta Hain Aaj Kuch Aajebse feeling Hoin rahein hain,Jese Maanoin Ek Nayein Subha Hain Aapke Aur Mere Zindagi kain."Today there are no tears in Rishi's eyes,but a smile on his face;as though someone,or something has given him a message that,happiness is not far away from his and Indira's life.
As Rishi opens the bathroom door,his towel falls from his hands and his face seems to glow up.He rushes near Indira,who has finally cut the silence that shadowed their lives,and opened her eyes.Rishi,out of joy starts weeping and calls for the doctor.
The doctor comes in and examines Indira,and says,"Well Mr. Rishi Aakhir Aapkein Duwawoin Nein Assar Kardekhayein.Now that she is awake,the danger has gone,I just need to check her vital statistics,and start for the treatment.Till then I should give you both some space.Have a good day Mrs. Indira."
Rishi goes near Indira and wipes her eyes and kisses her cheeks and says,"Kisene Saach Kaha Hain,Uske Ghaar Daar Hain,Par Andher Nahin."
Indira:looks at Rishi with a surprise and the first word she utters is:"woin Kahain Hain?"
Rishi:holding her hand sits by her side and says,"Kaun ?Aacha Wo,Uske Barein Mein Toh Aap Baat Hin Maat Kejeyein.Yeh Lamha Humara Hain,Aur Iss Lamhe Koin Jeelane Dijeyein."
Scene II:Opens in SN,where Indira's mother is waiting near the door with an aarati,when a car stops near the house and Rishi,holding his Shrimatijee's hand,takes Indira in.
Indira's Mother:takes Indira's aarti and as tears roll down her eyes,she says,"Bohat Baarein Jang Jeetkar Aayein Hain Beeta",and hugs Indira.
Ishaan:comes running to Indira and holds her tight,says:"Bua Phir Kabhi Aapne Ishaan Koin Istarah Chodkar Maat Jayeinga.Mein Bahot Darr Gaye Tha."
Indira's Mother:"Chaloin Saab Aabhi Indira Koin Aaram Karne Dejeyein.Rishi Beta,Ja Indira Koin Kamrein Mein Lein Ja.Isein Aaram Kein Zaruraat Hain."
Rishi takes Indira to their house,in their room and picks her up in his arms and puts Indira in the bed."Aab Aap Aaram Kareingi,Aur Saara Kaam Mein Karoinga.Chalein Aab Soin Jayein ."
Indira:Keeps looking at Rishi and touches his cheeks and says,"Yein Sapna Hain Yeh Hakekaat?Aap Mera Saath Hain,Aur..."Before she could continue,Rishi puts his finger on her lips.
Rishi:"Shrimartjee,Yeh Zindagi Ka Saabse Baara Saach Hain Kein Aap Saasein Larahein Hain,Aur Mein Aapke Ke Saasoin Koin Mehsus Karparahain Hoin.Sapne Toh Woh Aathayes Din [28] Thha Jaab Aap Coma Mein Thi."
So whatever Indira had gone through,was in her subconscious,when she had been lying in a state of coma.And as she has opened her eyes,she has come out of that nightmare,where she had to say goodbye to everyone she loves,and to her beloved,Rishi.Today as she is breathing in the arms of her
husband:this is real:her love for Rishi,and his for her;their togetherness.This is "the moment" of both Indira and Rishi's lives:a moment of epiphany,which has made their love eternal.
[Indira never had a brain tumor,she had a false alarm.But those 48hrs. of her life had been a crucial one:it had made her make choices,which she possibly can never make,as she is awake from that slumber.But yes,she has a physical condition,which needs attention as Indira is suffering from Pseudotumor Cerebri,"false brain tumor".Now Rishi has to take the responsibility and take her to neurologists and ophthalmologist for her check ups,and medications.And as far as Indira's idea of Rishi's second marriage is concerned,Rishi is not going to let go off that issue so easily;he will make Indira feel guilty,but with love.From here the story goes smoothly,with Rishi and Indira facing the ups-n-downs of life,but together.]
This was my side of Rishi and Indira's story,which has a twist,but a better one,where our hearts don't get overwhelmed with melancholy.Share your views.
