So how does one describe a movie like KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM? Outrageous? Scandalous? Wild? Wicked? Spicy? Wacky? Zany? Riotous? Madcap? I'd say all of these and more! If the intent of the film is to amuse and entertain and provide laughs and guffaws aplenty, logic be damned, then be rest assured, KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM has some bizarre jokes and episodes that would make your jaws hurt with laughter in those 2.20 hours.

Come to think of it, are we geared up for an AMERICAN PIE type of a movie with adult humor in loads, since the moviegoer is getting more and more receptive towards diverse genres of cinema? Adult humor is something that is yet to be explored to the fullest in Hindi filmdom. MASTI [2004] and KYAA KOOL HAIN HUM [2005] were two of the earliest films that made way for adult comedies. Last year's DELHI BELLY, which was brimming with adult humor, made us realize that we are at ease with adult jokes and this genre is no longer considered discreditable or disgraceful. Now the much awaited sequel KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM is out to tickle our funny bone… and how!

KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM brings the sex comedy genre back into focus. Designed with teenagers and young adults in mind, this movie is up to the brim with sexual innuendoes, adult jokes and impish humor.

But be forewarned… KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM is a zany entertainer that belongs to the 'hardcore commercial cinema' category, as we call them in film parlance, aimed at magnetizing the masses in hordes. It's for viewers who are relentlessly thirsting for madcap amusement. It's not for pseudo intellectuals, neither for fuddy-duddies or hard-nosed and stubborn evaluators, who persistently dismiss and disregard movies of its ilk as lowbrow absurdity.

KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM revolves around two friends, Adi [Tusshar Kapoor] and Sid [Riteish Deshmukh]. Adi is an aspiring actor who appears in tacky ads, while Sid is a DJ, who never gets the right opportunities. The story takes a turn when they venture on an adventurous trip to Goa to retrieve something invaluable.

Like I pointed out earlier, KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM is wicked and caters to young adults. In fact, even some skeptics, who laugh aloud while watching an AMERICAN PIE, should enjoy the ludicrousness and hilarity of KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM.

Don't look for a path-breaking story here! From what one gathers, director Sachin Yardi yearns for audiences' laughter at any price. Yardi has kept the narrative speedy all the way through and has integrated some clever lines to keep the hilarity alive. There are sooo many hilarious episodes in the film and several naughty jokes as well. Also, a bucketful of double entendres. I'd say, the sequences and some of the dialogue will stun you. But it's fun nonetheless, with hilarity unlimited. In fact, it's a movie that can ideally be referred to as a 'de-stressing entertainer'.

Any blemishes? Though there's hardly a dull moment in its swift screenplay, I wish to add, KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM droops faintly in the middle, but again concludes on an unpredictably sprightly high. Besides, there are some jokes that work big time, while a few only try very hard to evoke mirth.

The soundtrack is scored by numerous music composers and the tunes are energetic and utterly in sync with the spirit of the movie. 'Dil Garden Garden Ho Gaya', 'Shirt Da Button' and 'UP Bihar Lootne' are wonderful tracks, bringing the youthful zest to the fore. Even the track during the end titles is high on energy. Ravi Walia's cinematography is lively, with each frame appearing vibrant. I'd like to make a special mention of the dialogue. Witty to the core!

The show belongs to the two lead actors and together they're a riot! Both Riteish and Tusshar are known for their impeccable comic timing. Riteish is terrifically hilarious in this side-splitting act. Tusshar is equally compelling and does incredibly well. In fact, both Riteish and Tusshar act in tandem and complement each other delightfully. Neha Sharma and Sarah Jane Dias get it right. Their confidence, enthusiasm and lack of inhibitions while partaking in a naughty scene, delivering a wicked line or sporting a reveal-it-all outfit gives the film further impetus.

Anupam Kher is admirable and adjoins qualitative value to the movie. Chunkey Pandey is hilarious, especially in the introductory sequence. Howard Rosemeyer is uniformly wacky. Ditto for Razzak Khan. Kavin Dave is perfect. The pug is endearing in a significant role. Rohit Shetty and Mushtaq Shiekh make pleasant cameo appearances.

On the whole, KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM is sure to get the affirmation nod by its target audience -- the youth. Despite the sexual tone, adult jokes, impish humor, the movie, at no juncture, gets offensive, distasteful or objectionable. In fact, it's one big joyride from commencement to conclusion. This one is for the masses, for youngsters, for those who loved part one and enjoyed its crazy hilarity. KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM offers entertainment, entertainment and only entertainment in large doses!

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum Movie Review – Just Grind And Bare It!

July 22, 2012 by Rickie Khosla

Unlike other modern day scions of politicians who have also chosen to join politics and dedicate their lives in the service of the nation, Ritesh Deshmukh decided to take the selfish road to Bollywood instead. He must have realized early the futility of even trying to match the lofty achievements of his superdad Vilasrao Deshmukh. (Senior D, as everyone knows, has risen to become the current Science and Technology Minister, a feat that even APJ Abdul Kalam could not attain). Obviously oblivious to our keen eye, there must have been some talent in Ritesh that got him parts in the biggest 3-, 4- and 5-hero film projects, and helped him make a place for himself in the industry (while also landing him a gorgeous film star bride albeit of suspect talent herself).

On the other hand, why Tusshar Kapoor decided to tread the path to Bollywood, in spite of the face, talent and really everything else, remains a mystery. I fear Ekta Kapoor will have a lot of explaining to do when she meets her Maker.

Bollywood discovered a while ago what Discovery Channel and Animal Planet have only just realized – that there is incredible wealth to be made in peddling Catastrophes in the form of entertainment to an audience already habituated to abysmal standards (Reality TV, TV serials, anyone?). Catastrophes can be Incredible Disasters! or Shark Attack! or Man vs. Wild! (i.e. that lone wolf-man surviving in deep jungles with just a pocket knife and the ability to eat raw earthworms and raccoons). And Catastrophes can just as well be defined as Singh is King, Housefull, Rowdy Rathore and Golmal. After all, it is hard to take your eyes off of a no-holds-barred public demolition – of decent humour and entertainment in this case!

Presenting, Tusshar and Ritesh's second child of sin (labour of love?) – Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum. I am not sure what the fate of their first born – Kyaa Kool Hain Hum – was, but, obviously, someone was perverse enough to bring another Damien, the Omen Child, into this world.

The trailer was only two minutes long but the film's message was crystal clear – We are so incredibly gross that it makes us –

Very 'Kool' – Look at our spelling – we used a "K" instead of a "C"! Plus, everyone is dressed trendy, down to our miniscule swimming costumes!

Very Funny – Look, we have penis, butt and boobs jokes! And they are not even double entendre! And that really is Vicky's Donation in that jar, not shrikhand!

Very Irreverent – Look, we made fun of everybody! Including Baba Ramdev!

Very Liberal – Look, even the girls are cracking non-veg jokes! She really is talking about preferring a vibrator over the real thing!

Very Adult – Look, read the above! And we are very proud of our "A" certificate, thank you very much!

The storyline seemed highly contemporary – two perhaps not-so-cool bachelors trying to score two hot girls, obviously out of their league, by playing every masquerade and sexual gag in the book. All the while also trying to save themselves from some larger Doom that is imminent. Clearly, this is the type of entertainment the Modern Indian Youth craves for because most such movies follow this exact plot-line like the Rajdhani Express time-table.

The girls are called Neha Sharma and Sarah Jane Dias. Don't strain too hard to remember their names, they are probably no Vidya Balans, and this dirty picture is unlikely to be their Dirty Picture.

The trailer also carried a couple of song snippets – both looked like item numbers. The music is by a pair called Sachin-Jagir. I feel if you don't have a partner, you can't break into Bollywood as a music director these days. (Too bad, Leander Paes, you might as well toss those plans of an alternative career making music in Bollywood – you will need someone to agree to partner with you first! )

The 4-5 gags shown in the trailer were mildly amusing, I must admit. But I suspect they were also the best jokes in the film.

Talking of gags, what is it about Ritesh Deshmukh that compels, let's humour them and call them screenplay writers, to write gay scenes around him? A common plot-line erection in many of Ritesh's films is that effeminate men in pink clothes and yellow shoes are attracted to him like John Travolta is to full-body massage. I wonder if it is that facial expression of his as if he just passed gas – perhaps it is homoerotic in some way? Or maybe it's his physique, which is identical to Salman Khan's when he was 14? Anyhow, without getting too anal about the reasons that make gay people light up around Ritesh as if he was the Sale sign at Zara, I can confidently declare that the happy custom endures – in fact, the trailer practically gives a blow-by-blow account of what the gay plot-line might be.

Oh, and water-baby Tusshar shows his butt – one could call him a poor (as in, abjectly poor, practically destitute) woman's John Abraham.

In the end, I shall give this film passing grade. After all, it bears no pretenses. If you think Christopher Nolan is that person who discovered America, Cocktail means a sissy drink, just the mere mention of Housefull-2 brings tears of craving to your eyes, and a joke without some kind of mention of genitalia is merely an anecdote, you had better be in that theatre on Friday.

I will see you there!

Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum Movie Review

Star Cast: Tusshar Kapoor, Ritesh Deshmukh, Neha Sharma, Sarah Jane Dias, Anupam Kher, Chunky Pandey and Rohit Shetty.

What's Good: The comedy; some songs; Ritesh's acting.

What's Bad: Some stale jokes; the forced emotional quotient.

Loo Break: During the emotional scenes.

Verdict: Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum has some laughs, which may be enough for the producers to laugh their way to the bank.

Watch or Not: Watch it for the funny below-the-belt jokes.

Rating:

8 Votes

You would think when they write the script for a movie, the writers would avoid "borrowing" jokes that you've been listening to since school or those stale SMS forwards. Thankfully, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum doesn't overdo it.

Adi (Tusshar Kapoor) and Sid (Ritesh Deshmukh) are two out-of-luck men ecking out a living in Mumbai. Aspiring actor Adi acts in those outrageous teleshopping ads while hoping for his 'big break'. Sid's DJing skills are wasted on sad Gujarati-gone-wild parties. An astrologer predicts that Adi's fortunes will turn when he meets the love of his life – whose name will begin with 'S'. Very soon he bumps into Simi (Neha Sharma) and falls hopelessly in love with her. Not wanting to risk losing her, Adi proposes marriage within a few days of meeting her. Instead, Simi gets freaked out and lies about being a lesbian.

On the other hand, Sid does a gig at a fashion show. His stuck disc distracts a model Anu (Sarah Jane Dias) who trips on her gown and becomes a "wardrobe malfunction" sensation.

When Sid discovers that Adi had proposed to Simi with the diamond that belonged to his (Sid's) pug Sakru, he decides that they must follow Simi to Goa to retrieve their stone.

Unknown to the duo, Simi and Anu are good friends chilling together in Goa at the latter's home. And to add to the crazy quotient, Anu's father (Anupam Kher) is a billionaire being hoodwinked by Baba 3G (Chunky Pandey) into believing that a pug is the reincarnation of his deceased mother.

How Sid manages to woo Anu, Adi tries to win back Simi and lots of weird dog-humping forms the rest of the story.

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum Review: Script Analysis

ISachin Yardi wins us in the first half but just can't hold up the laughs in the post-interval section. While many of the jokes are funny, it's disappointing to find lame SMS jokes in their dialogues.
Being an adult comedy also means that Sachin has overlooked the plot, which really doesn't matter in the movie either.

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum Review: Star Performances

Tusshar Kapoor hams a lot as the lovable loser Adi. Thankfully Riteish Deshmukh does a good job as Sid. Similarly, the yin-yang goes for the female leads as well with Sarah Jane Dias standing out as Anu and Neha Sharma overacting a bit as Simi. Anupam Kher is lovely as the disillusioned billionaire who worships pugs as his parents and collects Bollywood paraphernalia. Chunky Pandey is good as Baba 3G. Rohit Shetty is fun in a guest role.

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum Review: Direction, Music & Technical Aspects

Director Sachin Yardi has done an okay job with this comedy film but he has failed to keep it even. While some of the jokes are bang on, the emotional parts seem contrived. The Garden Garden Ho Gaya and Bihar Loot Ke songs are fun. Mayur Puri and Kumaar's lyrics are alright. Aarif Shaikh's editing is good. Ravi Walia's cinematography needs improvement. Bosco-Caesar's choreography is good.

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum Review: The Last Word

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum has some really good laughs, but the second half can be a tad disappointing.

Cast: Tusshar Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Neha Sharma, Sarah Jane Dias, Anupam Kher, horny pug

Directed by Sachin Yardi

Rating: **

When you go to watch KSKHH, you know what you've signed up for. Nothing in this review or what anyone tells you should alter anything. It is (as you would expect) a willful plunge into an ocean of sexual innuendos, perpetually horny pugs, more gay jokes than Dostana can cover in the next ten sequels and some very well done movie spoofs. My pick: the pointy brassiere-clad Bra.One whose sole purpose in life is to support women in, well, you know what. Double meaning with triple seasoning and everything, everywhere has some trace of filthy literature. Not even the sign boards are spared: La wh**e Dhaba, Cock Tail bar etc.

di (Tusshar Kapoor) is a struggling actor who hasn't resigned despite being reduced to endorsing some of the most despicable and entertaining Home Shopping products on TV (drastic skin whitening, constipation cures etc). His roommate and pal Sid (Riteish Deshmukh) is a DJ who hasn't got a decent gig in ages but is managing to get by for his pug's sexual appetite (a canine Vicky Donor here). After a series of raunchy one-liners and Sid's pug doing every Scooby, Scrappy and Snappy Doo, the two lead women surface. Simran (Neha Sharma) is identified as Adi's lucky charm and his one way ticket into Bollywood as he's instantly signed on for Rohit Shetty's next explosion, "Ching Gum' after meeting her. Anu (Sarah Jane Dias) is a model who is forced into bartending following an unfortunate event involving Sid. So it's clear who is going to pursue whom and all this has to go down in Goa. Why? Because Anu's father as a palatial home there and it's a cool place to shoot, no?

After a water-tight first half, the film begins to spill a bit and introducing Anu's exaggeratedly eccentric pop Mr Marlow (Anupam Kher) doesn't help. The only good joke in the second half is Anu's mum's name: Rosmary Marlow (Roz-Meri-Maar-Lo). And perhaps Neha's favourite TV show which is misunderstood as her preference for larger male parts, when she says, "Mujhe Bade Achhe Lagte Hain!"

If you thought this film has only abused the Hindi language, you thought wrong. At one of Sid's Dandiya gigs, he tries to chat up a girl and buy her some Gujju snacks. He places his order, saying, "Aane Ragdo, Manay Chaat." Also when this girl introduces herself as BJ, Sid is left gaping and she enquires, "Mera naam sunke tumhara mooh kyun khul gaya?" And these are the less perverted jokes in the film.
Riteish Deshmukh may never be an SRK or even an Akshay Kumar or an Ajay Devgn. But this film goes to prove that he doesn't need to be. He is Riteish Deshmukh, an actor who can deliver like Wasim Akram on a bouncy wicket when teamed up in a comedy. But allow him to play a solo lead and he's as vulnerable as Venkatesh Prasad batting with a hockey stick. Tusshar Kapoor has found another annual franchise to prove himself, apart from Golmaal that finally discovered his ability to say it all without actually making any humanly recognisable sounds. Both the actresses- Sarah Jane Dias and Neha Sharma have nothing novel to offer, apart from lending a toned body and a pretty face (which only Neha manages). Anupam Kher's electrocuted performance should be a matter of severe concern, if not for the film industry (that continues to indulge him), then for the students of his acting academy. With his luck, even his lines seem sorrier than the rest to add dung on spoilt pie

The film (like its prequel) wins for its dialogues and spoofs of popular movies, something we rarely see in Hindi films today. Both the cameos- Rohit Shetty and Mushtaq Sheikh don't elevate the fun quotient or take away from it. As the film progresses, your expectations are raised as the lewd-o-meter sinks below any standard of acceptable obscenity. But in hindsight, as long as almost every line has some gag that you haven't heard before, you'd want to give a pat on the back to writer and director Sachin Yardi.

'Kyaa SuperKool Hai Hum' is surely a school of sickeningly dirty jokes that will shock, disgust and scandalize but ensure that you have a good time. So don't leave your brains (or any other organs) at home, you will need it to dig out the implied meaning in every line.

Critic's Rating: ***
Cast: Tusshar Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Neha Sharma, Sarah Jane Dias, Anupam Kher, Chunky Pandey
Direction: Sachin Yardi
Genre: Comedy
Duration: 2 hours 18 minutes

Story: A dumb & dumber situation arises when a struggling actor chases his lady-love to Goa; along with his jobless DJ buddy who owns a pug that shags for a living.

Movie Review: Disclaimer: This review is A-rated. Purely 'adult'erated even. Keeping with the flavour of the film - a series of gags on 'dildo-la-re' puns, doggie shots, bitches (read: beaches), bikinis and bared bums, sizes ('bade acche lagte hain' anyone?) and sex-changes.

Tusshar Kapoor (Adi) is a struggling actor, who dreams of making a grand debut in Bollywood with films like 'Chingham', 'Adi'das (Devdas), 'Bra-One' 'Ekta-Tiger' etc, but Mr. Dufus ends up with embarrassing teleshopping commercials for vibra weight-loss, constipation remedies and body-whitening creams (it hilariously turns him from Afro to Blond). He believes planet Rahu has turned his career into Rahul Roy (ouch!), and is advised by a Tarot reader that the only one who has the power to change his destiny is a lady-love. Cue for Simran (Neha Sharma). Sid (Riteish Deshmukh) is a DJ (read: hard 'Dicks' Jockey); who's grown up 'bajaoing' (music), and living off his pug, 'Suckru', the Vicky Donor of Animal Kingdom, who dutifully mates to His Master's (Voice) Music; for money. The 'threesome' take off to Goa, where Adi swears he will 'macho-doonga' (ie: flaunt his machismo with a semi bared-butt like John Abraham) to win over his girl. On the other hand, Sid risks losing his manhood at gay bars, while model-girl Anu (Sarah Jane Dias) falls for him, and Suckru gets busy on the Goa 'bitches' (Oops: Beaches). There are weirder specimens on this riotous ride. Mr.Marlowe (Anupam Kher), who's obsessed with Bollywood memorabilia. From Vidya Balan's red 'dirty' blouse, to Ramu kaka's (Sholay) hand-soap; only 'coz Thakur didn't have hands (sic); More weirdos coming up - fat-ass, dope-head Trippy (Kevin Dave) and the vile Baba 3G (Chunky Pandey) who communicates with the 'higher beings' through broadband. 'Stand-up' to applause if you please, but there's more coming your way. Mental stimulation (or masturbation), whatever!!!

Tusshar Kapoor is quite a 'master of his domain', we mean the comedy genre, alright. Riteish Deshmukh adds to this melee with his canny knack for comedy, and together the boys tune their comedy timing with tact, if not precision. Neha Sharma is pretty, pleasant and acts well; Sarah Jane Dias looks hot in her bikini act and catwalks through her part with confidence. Anupam Kher has shown us a funnier bone in the past, and Chunky is too wasted and over-the-top, even for a brainless comedy.

Director, Sachin Yardi's film will appeal to an audience who trips over 'hard-core' sex comedies. There are scenes that 'vibrate' with humour, and squeeze ample laughs (some forced), but it's mostly a bleak story-line with random scenes which are padded with pun-fulls of adult humour, sexual innuendo, and expletive one-liners. For a sex-comedy, the film is a tad long (size really matters, can't help it!) and songs like 'Dil Garden Garden Ho Gaya' slow the pace. If you were sex (comedy) starved after Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, this sequel force-feeds you a double dose. This one's for teens who get a 'boner' out of bad jokes, but it may get a rise out of some adults too. Watch at your own 'risque'.

Tip Off: Some of the humour, dialogues and gestures are X- plus; so chances are you might squirm and scream. If you have a whacked out sense of humour, and are willing to leave your brains behind, go laugh your guts out! It's all below the belt anyway.

Please remove Aamir Khan name from the list.

Taran Adarsh gave 2.5 stars to a cult movie called Rang De Basanti.

Anyways most of the Aamir Khan movie after Lagaan should have been given 4 stars minimum.
