He wanted Siddhi to make a sacrifice and get married to Kunal for HIS wife Veena. He wanted Siddhi to back down from the case when Kunal and Siddhi were fighting against one another. He said stuff to Siddhi after the Raveena-Rohit marriage fiasco. He did not curb Veena's anand jaap in any way. In fact he used to keep saying Anand aayega. And yesterday he did not control his crazy wife. I wont say he is crazy like Veena. But he is often ineffective and selfish. He was the one who took the initiative to get Siddhi married to Kunal. But he has often not been there for Siddhi after that.
