Well, I thought some of this episode was really good and some of it was um, ok. With Shakuntala taking her things out of the room, and telling SS and his whole family that they will be on their way, etc, I really felt for her as she never wanted to stay there in the first place. We will never know what really transpired between her and SS before Abhimanyu was born. But we do know, they share a bond and that is enough relative to what is going on. I was thinking about it over the weekend, are the Thakur children angry that SS was apparently nicer to this lower status woman than he has been to their own mother, or is it the fact that a child resulted from this association, or both? Anyway, it was through this track that I could better judge the three siblings. While Komal will be happy to know her BIL's lawyer has left the haveli, I don't think she handled the situation well with Shakuntala. Hopefully she calms down and learns some class from her in-laws and her daughter. There's still time for Chinky to get some etiquette apart from seeing her mother. Abhimanyu's asking the doctor for the bills is a big deal. He is capable of paying them himself, and he doesn't shy away from doing so, because he was never after SS and his wealth anyway. Even if SS didn't pay it, he well should have because we all know that if it wasn't for his eldest son, Abhimanyu would not have ended up there in the first place. Finally, SS is cleaning up his mess. Krishna's giving blood may have been for a selfish end, but he also helped clean up his father and brother's mess in his own way. We can't deny that. He could have let him die in the hospital and I feel that he did show compassion on Shakuntala in his own way. He realized that the mistake was more SS than it was hers, and Abhimanyu was the result. SS openly admitting his connection to the lawyer is another huge deal, after refusing to keep his other son from jail. A wave of his hand would have been enough to save Shakti from going off with the policemen, but SS looked on silently.
In the beginning of the episode, Krishna stops Shakuntala from leaving, saying that obviously her son is not well enough to go back just yet. Another sign of the compassion we have seen from him before. He will never look upon her as his own family, but he isn't crude enough to do what his brother has done, willfully assault the guy in front of his mother. Even in these few weeks, Krishna has gone from his initial anger to understanding of what his father has done and Abhimanyu's motivation for being there. He couldn't have saved his life if he hadn't. This shows that he has a far deeper character than his older brother. One brother takes lives, the other saves them. Krishna even saved Pratigya's life at one point. And knowing how he feels about this man, it was an act of altruism because he could have taken revenge easily but didn't.
Kesar complaining to Shakti is just pathetic. The only identity she has formed is an evil one, and I guess this is understandable because she never leaves the house and therefore can never be exposed to any other ideas besides her husband's and Krishna's. and sharing a room with Shakti has its price. Shakti never got punished for poisoning Abhimanyu, neither did the coach which annoys me a LOT. He never gets what he deserves. Just once I would like to see him hang on to life by a thread. I don't feel that SS' slapping him was enough. If it was anyone else, they would hv stayed in jail.
Abhimanyu returning back to the haveli and everyone glaring at him was just too much. Especially after they shut the door, and Shakti started screaming loudly to everyone it was more proof of how lame he is. When Abhimanyu came outside and just embraced everyone, Shakti and Krishna as brothers, it showed a lot of character. Shakti tried over and over again to kill him, I wouldn't blame him if he just ignored the jerk. He also looked really good in his jeans, like seriously hawt. The way he thanked Krishna for everything, it was so sincere. As well as his goodbye to Pratigya, the only educated person in that house. And obviously, showing SS his respect at the end was the most special moment for him. We could really feel his emotion then, saying goodbye to the father he never knew as a child. I kind of wanted Samar to be there, to just run up to him and say "where are you going now?" in his own childish way, but he was nowhere to be found. I think Kesar made him stay in his room again to be away from Pratigya as Prats is a better mother than her.
star of the episode: Abhimanyu, Krishna
