Naushad, who poured life into many a meaningful poetry, with his soulful compositions has passed on to the next world. The tragedy occurred in the wee hours of Friday, May 5, 2006. He was 86. Naushad had won several accolades and awards during his fruitful career, Baiju Bawra being the most memorable of his compositions which also won the Filmfare Award in 1954. He had also been awarded the coveted Dadasaheb Phalke Award in the year 1981. He had recently composed the sound track for the movie, Taj Mahal, which proved to be his last work. |
Music Composer turned director, Vishal Bharadwaj is one of the privileged few in Hindi cinema to open his desi adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello at the Cannes Film Festival.
