Shalini's dance on Sunday

I am a silent reader of the forum and try and watch as many episodes as I can. While watching Sunday (1st July) episode, I noticed something which was a little disturbing to me and I wanted to bring it up.

While Shalini's dance itself was quite nice, her expressions actually horrified me. A 9-10 year old girl winking, pouting, making seductive expressions is just not done IMO. And I don't blame her for it since she will probably be only doing what has been asked of her.

I know Jazz is supposed to be a "se*y" dance, but I thought it became quite vulgar. And I was quite surprised none of the masters even brought it up.

It is just my opinion and I am not against her since I think she dances well. These are things skippers should control. Please don't bash.

Hi everyone! I usually don't comment in here but read it here and there, however I couldn't help myself when I saw this topic as I have such strong feelings about Shalini 😆

Ok first and for most I feel like amongst the girls Soumya is the best dancer as she really does let her dancing do the talking and doesn't have to relay on her looks or talks/being funny! Shreya is just very very very aggressive and I think needs to work on having a certain level of grace that every dancer posses...I mean regardless whether she dances fast or slow she looks aggressive and her expressions look like she is screaming! ( not bashing anyone, simply stating my opinion)

Now Shalini's dance on Sunday and in fact I would say most of her dances throughout the show have been filled with expressions such as the one on Sunday where it just looks disturbing for a lack of better word for a child her age. I feel like the fact that she has been praised and appreciated for her expressions have given her even more confidence to keep using it and that will keep her in the competition when this is suppose to be a dancing competition and not an expression's competition. I know expressions are an important part of dance but emphasis on the part not the dance itself. I even think both the judges a couple episodes ago pointed out that while her expressions are great and they appreciate it...she should focus on her dancing as it seems she is only relying on her expressions. This whole thing reminds of toddlers and tiers show. I don't know if anyone have heard of it but It's a show in the USA and it has girls from around age 3 having make up/sexy/inappropriate dresses/ and all sorts of dances to win the competition and get the tiara 😕. Shalini reminds me one of those kids and that always disturbed me. So, I hope either the skipper or someone points that out to her and gently point her to be more focused on her dancing and not expresses and being Mittun's gf!

I agree that soumya is great dancer but shalini is not less than any body. Between shalini and soumya, anyone can win. It is my personal opinion..
