'From day one I knew I had to win'
It's going to be a very special birthday for actor Tasneem Sheikh. As an anchor of the somewhat 'hatke' reality show 'Jet Set Go', Tasneem has emerged the winner. The show, which also includes Gurdip Kohli and Kiran Dubey, requires the hosts to persuade the common man to agree to a free vacation on the spot, and reach the airport within the next four hours. Tasneem, who has won 13 out of the 17 episodes, has bagged the prize - a 15 day trip to Europe.
The grand finale show that announces her as the winner coincides with her birthday. "It's a wonderful coincidence. My husband Sameer is abroad so I'm not in the mood to celebrate, but my friends will ask me to throw a party to celebrate this win. Nevertheless I am looking forward to going to Europe with Sameer," says the recently married actor.
Analysing her win, Tasneem isn't surprised by the outcome. "From day one, I knew I had to win. I have the killer instinct and a sixth sense that guided me all through. This helped me convince the contestants to catch the overseas flight." However the going wasn't always easy, "It was tough," she admits, "I would start shooting on an empty stomach and end up feeling very giddy and weak."
However all's well that ends well and for the final episode, Tasneem will shed her otherwise 'modern' image and be clad in a traditional Bengali saree along with fellow hosts Gurdip in a Gujarati saree and Kiran Dubey in a Maharashtrian saree in keeping with the show's 'Made in India' theme.
