Love and Hate

The room clock struck midnight and an awkwardness settled between them that hadn't been there before, She'd been so comfortable all evening, but now she was feeling awkward to share room with him, Something had been surely changed between them, "you should not stand close to window, its cold outside" he hesitated but his voice showed so much concern she titled her head and found him standing beside her with his brown eyes on her face, she could not denied that her heart thud to see him close to her, and she gazed into his eyes trying to see through them to his heart, Was he really had been changed or something inside her had been changed and she tried to think some excuses to prove herself wrong but nothing came to mind. He stood there watching her. She knew he was aware of her uneasiness that's the reason he quickly stepped away from her.

"I was just going to bed and you don't need to worry about me" she tore away her eyes, enveloped by a sense of loose trying hard to sound rude, knowing that rudeness was a safer emotion to express than hidden emotions, her brain told her she was doing the right thing, but her heart told her she was a coward who wanted to hide her feelings, he did not said anything, just watched her for a moment and stepping close to bed took his pillow and threw himself on couch but she had seen those hurtful expressions on his face as she regarded him out of the corner of her eyes but why she did not getting comfort to hurt him, why did not she feel any satisfaction to see that she'd hurt him.

But can you forgive him??The same bitter line came to her mind and she gasped holding her breath, The tender feelings she'd felt about him had disappeared, and uneasiness crept through her. She closed her eyes and tried to swallow the bubble of pain that choked her voice. "I don't know why my heart wanted to forgive you Mayank"

The sleep was far away from her eyes but gathering herself she switched off the lights and slipped in comforter in hope may be sleep will show mercy on her but it did not happen..

Taking big steps with unstable breath Shiv paced through the main hall and entered in restaurant where the stranger had to meet him, he looked around to take a glimpse of whole restaurant when someone kept hand on his shoulder, "I am here, uncle" he spun around at the voice, "Neev..You"he groaned loudly in rage regarding him angrily, "how dare you called out me here"he caught his collar and gave him jerk, "because I wanted to tell you truth, I know I did wrong and I am sorry for that but now when I know truth I don't want Nupur to live with Mayank"Shiv loosed his grip over his collar and taken aback at his statement, "what do you want to say??"Shiv voice barely came out in whisper and his heart raced getting the clue something bad was going to happen or already had been happened. He swallowed hard pushing away the negative feelings from his mind. "Yes I know the truth about that person who had kidnapped Nupur exactly a day before our marriage, he was the same person who had even attended the sangeet ceremony and you know him very well" Neev pulled away himself,? "Who is he?" A muscle twitched at the corner of his mouth and his heart sank in panic with strange fear and Neev lifted his gaze at him, "your son-in-law,Mayank Sharma"words slipped from his mouth and Shiv felt earth moved beneath his feet, except his words nothing was echoing in his mind, his body shook with great shock and he stepped back and held chair to stop himself to falling down, "it cant happen,Mayank cant do this. He is very nice boy and why would he do that?"He blurted out in unbelieving tone; the dreams he'd seen for her daughter's happy married life had been shattered, he felt out of breath and gasped air to send his lungs some oxygen, "I know you'll not trust me but its truth. Bitter Truth, Mayank is a Casanova, he'd been used many girls on his bed, you can't deny that he had attended our sangeet ceremony and where he had seen Nupur , then he made plan to kidnap her because it was almost impossible for him to get Nupur as she was going to get married the next day and he could not fulfill his bad intentions, he'd kidnapped Nupur and after a day he'd let her go''"

"If he is culprit, if Mayank did everything, if he'd kidnapped Nupur why did not she tell me? My daughter never hide anything from me..How could she hide such a big truth?"

he cut short by Shiv interruption and then Neev studied his face for a moment and murmured something under his breath cursing him who was still had unbelievable expressions on his face and he knew Shiv still could not trust on his words, he irritatingly clenched his teeth, this time he could not loose the chance to take revenge from Mayank and Nupur.

"He might be harassed Nupur or she was too much scared to tell truth, he could do anything..Anything, I am very scared for her she is still living with that Beast"

He said regarded him with pitifully,concernedly and kept his expressions the same so Shiv could not get clue his real intention behind all this, "I have been caught that one of man who was involve in Nupur's kidnapp, he've told me he did it for Mayank and he told me further Mayank had took her in his farm house and he was with her the whole night and the day'he might did.."he hesitant at his last words and stopped in mid way to see Shiv reddened eyes with rage,with anger..

"I will kill him" he pressed his palm hard over surface of table in anger and Neev smiled inwardly he'd been succeeded in his plan.

"Dad I want to join our office"Mayank sank down into sofa next to Rajeev and he titled his head towards him giving him grin, "so finally my son has decided to take his responsibilities"

He kept the newspaper aside and regarded him earnestly, "yes dad, I think I've been wasted too much time, now I wanted to take my responsibilities"

"Why don't you take responsibility of playing with my daughter's life, first???"Shiv almost groaned at the door and Mayank rose up, "what are you saying Shiv??"Rajeev who was in great shock to listen his statement went up to him, "you should ask it from your son"he regarded Mayank angrily, "uncle what I've done wrong??" words slipped from his lips in utter confusion.Nupur and Shilpa who was working in kitchen came out to listen the loud voice of Shiv.

He frowned stepping closed to Mayank, "How dare you bas**** to hurt my daughter" Shiv grabbed Mayank's collar and he taken aback at his sudden attack and looked at him in shock while Nupur's feet get froze at that place, her senses had left working, she had never seen his father in so much anger.

"Shiv.what are you saying?are you in your senses?"Rajeev get aggressive at his act and Shiv pushed Mayank away.

"Do you want to know what your son did? He is the one who had kidnapped my daughter to fulfill his bad intentions; he kept her the whole night and day with him in his farm house so he could stop her marriage and could get her, he wanted to do the same with my daughter that he did with every girl in his life..He wanted to use my daughter on his...'"he stopped in mid way looking at him in disgust and clench his fist,Shilpa felt earth shook beneath her feet while Rajeev clutched the sofa to keep himself stable, tears gathered in Nupur 's eyes and finally made their way towards her cheek, she never thought truth will come out like this. She hadn't even let herself dream that something like this would happen. Yes she wanted to punish Mayank, she wanted him to suffer but still she never wished to see him humiliated like this in front of everyone.

"My son can't do this?"A weak whisper slipped from Rajeev lips and lifted his gaze at Mayank who was stood there like a lifeless body. "He can't"he stepped close to Mayank and held his shoulders to make him look towards him, "Mayank say its wrong, say you cant do like this, say you can't stoop so low" he shook him and Mayank lowered his eyes not meeting with him."Mayank is Shiv saying right??"Rajeev voice rose in anger and he regarded Mayank Angirly..Mayank looked at Nupur who was still in the state of shock and replied in low voice swallowed hard. "Yes"

Rajeev dropped his arms and moved away from him. Pain swelled in her chest and she closed her eyes for a moment, he'd been accepted his sin but it did not give her any satisfaction, comfort. Tears pushed at her eyes, and she let them fall.

"Why didn't you tell me Nupur Mayank had kidnapped you??Why didn't you?"Shiv grabbed Nupur's shoulder and her eyes moved towards Mayank whose expressions were blank and he was looking so vulnerable she felt something pricked in her heart, she never wanted anyone to give him punish he was her offender, no one had right to humiliate him..NO one..

"Did he harm you? Did he take advantage of you? Did he molest you, did he harass you" Shiv shook Nupur's shoulder and her eyes were fixed at Mayank.

"NO"she screamed, a tear slipped over her bottom lid, trailed down her cheek, and splashed onto the bodice of her cotton dress. Another fell and then another. A shuddering little hiccup slipped out.

"He never try to force me,he never try to harm me,Nither he molest me Nor he took advantage of me, he had kidnapped me because he wanted to marry me"
