I am working with some of the most disciplined actors in Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka incluiding Dolly Thakore, Bharati Achrekar and Dara Singh. But I have never encountered such behaviour before," says Eijaz Khan referring to his co-star Sanjeeda's recent behaviour (who plays Nimmo) on the sets of Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka.
What exactly led to this major tiff between the Eijaz and Sanjeeda? "On the sets, I expect my co-stars to pay full attention. That's the protocol… or at least it used to be. Nowadays, everyone talks at the top of their voices. I like to focus on the scene I'm doing," says Eijaz.
The incident occurred when the actor was co-ordinating a scene with a five-year-old girl. "I was rehearsing with the kid when I heard loud voices from a corner of the set. Any kind of disturbance on the sets bothers me. I asked for the noise to be stopped," says Eijaz. "Sanjeeda took offence. She asked me, "Who are you talking to?" I reminded her that I don't speak to her until I have to. Many voices were raised. I lost my cool. I left the sets. I also raised my voice at the executive producer. I told him I'd go back and shout at Sanjeeda again if there was any lack of discipline."
Is Sanjeeda's presence a disturbing factor for Eijaz? "She's too big for me to comment on. She is, after all, playing Nimmo. You've no idea what I've gone through. Although I don't let such things affect me personally, my work suffers in the bargain. Every shot is important to me. I've put in three years of hard work. I know screw-ups happen. But, I don't want to be responsible when they take place. I had a similar experience during Kavyanjali," says Eijaz.
Nevertheless, Eijaz is going ahead with his work in the serial. "I won't let anyone affect my efficiency. So what, if I don't get along with my co-star? I'll act as though we get along. We'd have done much better if there was a real camaraderie," he says. "If I have to raise my voice again, I will do it for the sake of my work. However, this is not the way to function specially in a new serial. I know how much is expected of me through the two serials I'm doing. I can't let Ekta Kapoor down."
