Khushi's journey with Arnav ' Khushi, Orphaned at the age of 8 and taken into the loving bosom of Shashi ji and Garima who inculcated all the qualities of a good human being in her. She is Devi Maiyya's daughter, joy maker and giver, lives for others and doesn't know how to be selfish. From the time she met Arnav Singh Raizada, her life has gone through one testing phase after another. They had a love-hate relationship where each was trying to get away from another, but nothing was going to stop the connection of souls. She was accused of stealing, having lower middle class mentality, being the type that does anything for money etc. Despite all the accusations and mishandling from ASR, she always stood tall and never gave in.
Next came the phase when Arnav and Khushi acted on the attraction towards each other, but she was rejected once again and was cast away without any explanations. Did she complain? Khushi held her tears inside, put a smile on her face and wished him all that was good.
Devi Maiyya brought them together once again. This time around, Arnav and Khushi realized their feelings for each other. But, fate interfered as though testing the strength of their bond. Arnav witnessed the hug between Shyam and Khushi and misunderstood her words to Shyam. The beast in him woke up once again and he reacted by blackmailing her and marrying her forcefully. Here she was, dreaming of something wonderful with Arnav, and he turns her whole world upside down and shatters it. Her family disowned her, none was there to support her, accusations from all sides, but still she does not disclose the details of her marriage even to her family. She once again stands an orphan and whom does she go to in her dejected state? None other than her husband, hoping at least he'll understand her.
Khushi tried in several ways to get answers about her forced marriage but, Arnav is not willing to give her any details. Arnav continues to treat her alternately with coldness and concern. Khushi is repeatedly subjected to mistreatment when ASR in Arnav is resurrected. She does not understand his bipolar mentality and it leaves her more confused. She may not have admitted to herself, but she's so in love with him that she cannot live without him.
The trip to Gupta House is the biggest turning point in their lives. Khushi under the mistaken assumption that Arnav loves Lavanya, wants to give up her life so that the love birds can get married. In all this, she fails to understand the love that ASR has for her. Arnav saves her from suicide and when forced, gives the reasons why he married her, spews venom at her, calls her characterless for trying to have a relationship with a married man, his brother-in-law. He does not believe her when she tells him the truth about her broken engagement to Shyam. It pains her when Arnav puts her at the same level as Shyam, whom she hates from the bottom of her heart. She's hurting very much, but continues to smile and move on.
On reaching RM, Khushi tries to appeal to her husband, but he's not willing to listen. The fact that the love of her life is suffering because of her, will not let her rest. She wants to prove that she's not what he thinks she is and would never be in cohorts with Shyam. She even goes to the extent of talking to Shyam to clear up the misunderstanding.
Khushi runs to the airport knowing that Arnav is about to leave for London. She just has to meet him to clear up her name. She appeals to Arnav's heart once again and asks for just one chance to prove her innocence. But, fate deemed it otherwise and Arnav leaves. She cannot sleep until things are cleared up with her husband.
When there's no message from Arnav, Khushi gets really worried, but then receives a message that he's reached London safely. She cannot sleep, feels extremely restless without her husband, is longing for him and the fact that he's miserable makes her miserable too. Meanwhile, there's a call from Arnav and when he talks to his wife, he declares his love for her. What a thirst quencher it is for someone who's looking for just one drop of water to survive. She just needed one kind word from him, but what she got makes up for all the miserable times she had with him. However, his 'I Love you' makes her wonder if he's in some kind of trouble and she starts investigating. When she finds out that Arnav never reached London, does she sit quietly? No, she moves heaven and earth to find out his whereabouts. She follows one lead after another, puts her own life at risk and ultimately meets her Arnav ji.
Fate separates them again, but Khushi will not rest until she brings her husband home. When she suspects Shyam of kidnapping Arnav, she tries to cozy up to him, gets some leads and pursues things which bring her closer and closer to the truth about Arnav's kidnap and Shyam's involvement. Though she knows what she's doing may not be right, nothing will stop her from her goal; she lies, sweet talks even asks Shyam to divorce Anjali so that the 'will' can be put back in Anjali's name. She also blames herself for being the cuase of Arnav's kidnap and it's no longer about proving her innocence, but to get her husband released at any cost.
Following clues, when Khushi finally reaches the place where Arnav is being held, Shyam catches her. This is when she clearly tells Shyam how much she loves her husband and to what extent she'll go for him and only him. Shyam drags her away from that place, ties up her hands and legs and leaves her on the road, to the mercy of fate. Arnav follows Shyam and then rescues her when she falls into the slope. Throughout all this, Khushi's strength, her will power and ultimately her love for her husband is clearly seen. Not once does she think about the past or Arnav's behavior towards her. She lets nothing stop her from finding him.
Once Arnav and Khushi are back to home, she's not willing to be quiet. No more hiding of truths about Shyam. The entire family is told about how shyam kidnapped Arnav, tried to kill him for property, lusted after Khushi and was even ready to divorce Anjali. Nobody believes Khushi as she has no proof, except Arnav; the husband for whom she did things that she'd never done in her whole life, the most dearest in the whole world for whom she was even willing to make a deal with the devil, the beloved for whom she put her own life at risk several times, the reason for her existence whom she does not grudge a single thing.
During the entire confrontation with Shyam, not once does Khushi look to Arnav for support. She just presents her facts and tells the family that she's telling the truth and to believe her. When all the facts are presented and nothing more for her to do and Shyam is maligning her character, then and only then does she look to him for support. Such is the strength of Khushi; she'll do all she can first and when things get beyond her capacity, she'll seek help.
After Arnav pronounces his judgment and forcefully removes Shyam from the RM premises, starts another phase of Kushi's life with Arnav. Her husband declares in front of all that he BELIEVES IN KHUSHI; what else does she need? But, there's still the broken Anjali to deal with and she will continue to support her husband and bridge the gap between brother and sister.
Khushi knows that Arnav is pained by Anjali's decision to maintain distance from her brother, she also knows and understands his feelings about how he mistrusted Khushi and caused her a lot of pain. But, no words are needed between the two to show how deeply he regrets what he's done to her and from her side, the slate has already been wiped clean even without asking. Now the slate has only one word, LOVE written on it.
