Here is the story of King Samir Soni and Queen Neelam Soni and their story..š
When jewellery designer and erstwhile Bollywood actress Neelam Kothari saw Samir Soni for the first time, she found him cute.Ditto for Samir. It was common friend and TV czarina Ekta Kapoor who played cupid.Neelam came to watch my play Anything But Love with Ekta and told her she found me cute, which Ekta repeated to me.Then I met Neelam at Ektas party and told Ekta,I think your friend is damn cute. And Ekta introduced her.I told Neelam that although I have never said this to any girl in person,I did think she was cute. But after that I didnt know what to say.I said Id call her when I didnt even have her number, recalls Samir.
He met her again at Tusshar Kapoors party and was just as tonguetied. But later,I summoned the courage to call her, albeit at 3 am, says Samir. And after three-and-a-half years and 200 fights, the couple is tying the knot.Samir wanted a beach wedding with reggae music in Goa,but is now settling for a big fat Punjabi wedding.
This is the second marriage for both of them. Now in their early 40s,Samir admits they have baggage from past relationships. But Im not cynical about marriage just because my first one failed.Im much older and more mature today and understand that companionship is the most beautiful thing in the world. We dont have unreal expectations from each other. The only thing that will change is that now she will sleep in my house, he states.
Having lived alone for 14 years, isnt he scared of losing his space Im through living alone.Ive been wanting to get married since I was 14.You can get hurt once, but if you shy away from relationships, the only other option is to live alone, maintains Samir.
What was it about Neelam that made him so sure Shes one of the most beautiful women I have seen. Were similar in many ways, but we also complement each other.Shes good with people while Im shy.Shes
aware of mood swings and the
need for space, avers
Samir.
