here it goes chapter 3 i hope u like it..

Chapter 3

'I have the pleasure to announce the engagement of my princess with Arnav Singh Raizada the son of my dearest friend. Please give them a round of applause' Sashi Gupta said while trying not to cough to spoil the moment he has waited for so long.

"Garima I know if you were here you would have been proud of our daughter" Sashi Gupta said at a much lower voice for only him to hear.

Arnav approaches Khushi and extends his hand to take Khushi's left hand in his own hand while with the other one he took out from his breast pocket a clear cut big diamond mounted on a gold ring and slide it on her ring finger. It was the perfect match and fitted her ring finger as if it was designed just for her finger. After sliding the ring, Arnav lifts her left hand to his mouth and deposit a kiss while watching Khushi's face.

"What was that?" she thought. As soon as Arnav lips touched her fingers it was as if she got an electric charge throughout her body. She quickly removes her hand from his and wipes er damp palm on her dress. Khushi was in turmoil and was lost in her own thought when she felt someone touching her shoulders.

'Princess wont you make Arnav wears his ring dr' Sashi said while presenting the ring destined to him. She took the ring with trembling hands and waited for him to extend his hand to slide the latter. Khushi was avoiding looking in his eyes. Arnav could see that and he was annoyed.

"Many women are dying to have my ring on their fingers and here is the one who is actually wearing it but who is looking as if she was sentenced to death" he thought. She was still avoiding her eyes and was waiting for him to bring forward his hands but Arnav was stubborn.

'I will not extend my hand until you look me into my eyes Khushi' he said challengingly to Khushi in a voice who only her who can hear not even her father who was behind her.

Admitting defeat as the whole guests are waiting and getting impatient, Khushi finally raises her eyes to his and with a smirk showing his small victory Arnav extends his hand and she reluctantly slides his ring on his ring finger. The hall was filled with applause. The older aunts and uncles were please whereas the younger ones were jealous.

The engagement now done, music filled the house.

Arnav took Khushi's hand in his and advance towards the dance floor where everyone was waiting for the newly engaged couple to open the dance.

The song that was playing was Lady in Red sung by Chris DeBurgh.

Arnav took her hands and placed in on his shoulders while putting his on her waist. Khushi was still maintaining a small distance between them. Arnav his hands on her waist bring her more closely in the circle of his hands and Khushi was forced to look in his eyes. She was mesmerized and lost in those eyes. She thought that for once she had seen the same spark she saw after THAT kiss. She was burning as she could feel his fingers on her bare back imprinting his fingers there.

Arnav could see she was blushing and he felt a deep satisfaction but didn't know why and where that came from.

After that song was over, Khushi made some excuse about going to the wash room and fled from the dance floor thus from the circle of his hands. She needed some times to recompose herself.

"How could I feel like that whenever he touches me, maybe I contract a virus this week and its nothing except the symptoms. Ya that's it, it can't be something else" she said to her reflection in the mirror. She retouches her makeup and went back to the hall.

As soon as she enters she saw Arnav with her cousin in a deep conversation. Her cousin was practically over him with a hand on his arm. Arnav throw his head back and laugh out loud to something she said.

"The jerk, it's not even 24 hours we are engaged and here he is flirting with my cousin. Mr. Arrogant. Anyway why I am even giving him importance, he flirts or sleep with anyone how does that matter to me". She realized she said actually said all that when the lady next to her gave her a weird look. She hurriedly went to her father and asked him a dance with her without looking at Mr. Arrogant who was now on the dance floor with her cousin.

'Of course my Princess anything for you' her father said taking her hands and start a slow dancing. He was getting weaker by day but for his princess he can do anything.

'I know you will be the happiest girl as soon you marry Arnav, he will keep you well and I will be able to go peacefully' he said trying not to crack in the middle of the dance floor.

'Please dad doesn't talk like that. God can't take you too from me' saying that she places her head on his shoulder to feel reassure. She knows what the doctor said but she was not able to come to term with the fact that he'she is not even able to say the think the words.

'don't be sad my princess it's a big day for you and for Arnav' saying that he saw Arnav passing close to them on the floor and he said to him 'we exchange dance partner Son'.

Khushi didn't want to leave her dad but Arnav and her cousin was waiting for the exchange and she went reluctantly in his arms. The dance went in a blur. Arnav could sense her sad mood but he didn't do anything as she will have to come to term by herself.

It was after 1a.m that the guests start to leave all looking forward to the wedding of the year. After all departed, Arnav was also taking his leave from her father. She didn't want to face him so she hurried up the stairs and went to her room without a glace towards him.

She was so tired and she could feel the start of a headache. She slowly removed her shoes and dress and change into her pajama when she remembered she didn't say goodnight to her father. She hurriedly put on her slipper and tiptoed towards her father bedroom but it was empty.

"Maybe he is in his study. I will wish him there itself then, anyway there is no one to see me in my piggy pajama at this time" she said to herself.

She walked to the study and opened the door. She was her father lying on the recliner in his study and his face was pale. She run to him and sat next to it.

'Dad what happen? Why are you here and not in your room?' a small tear forming in her eyes as she could feel something is wrong.

'Your father was going to faint when I was going that I had to bring him here as it was closer than his bedroom' Khushi heard from behind her.

'Oh my god, how can I be so selfish. I didn't think about you and I went upstairs'. She said without looking behind her as she already knows the proprietor of that voice, she was fully crying now. 'Am so sorry dad, am so sorry'.

'It's not your fault I faint princess, it's just that it has been a long day today and with all that excitement. I was so happy today for both of you that'' he paused to cough and continues 'that I forgot my med but don't worry now darling, Arnav gave me the med'.

'I am going to call Doctor Uncle' she rose and went to pick the phone when Arnav took the phone from her hands and placed it back.

'I already called the doctor Khushi. He said to give Uncle his med and make sure he is comfortable for the night. He will come and see him in the morning' He said.

'I think I own you a thank you Arnav. I don't know what would have happen if you were not here when he was about to faint' she said surprising him by giving him a kiss on his cheeks.
