Hey guys, sorry for updating after a long time. I've been busy updating my ff. So I think this is going to be the last part of the SS and maybe I might do an epilogue, it really depends if I have enough time. Do enjoy reading, do comment and please leave me your feedbacks etc. Oh and please excuse my hindi, I'm terrible at it but I thought that I might try to use a bit in the SS😳
Part 8
She stands in her bedroom, alone. Looking in her simple dressing table's mirror at every fine detail. At every strand of hair that falls over her face. At every stone and gem that decorates her rich red lengha. Then she looks at her jewellery; perfectly enhancing her bridal look.
Today was the day she would finally reunite with her partner; her lost soul mate. She closes her eyes, wanting to freeze in the very moment. The unknown, fear feeling that creeps up on her. The doubts of things going wrong. But instead, in her closed eyes, she imagines all the moments spent with him. Valentine's day, her garden, the surprise party. And this all makes a smile creep on to her face. Uday veer. He was the one and only; the one who she was meant to be with. The one she would spend her whole lifetime with.
In the buzzing silence, light footsteps are heard. They come nearer and nearer towards her room. Soon another figure appears in the mirror and it touches her shoulder. She turns around and smiles at the person.
"Look at you! Your looking beautiful!" Neha says.
"Thanks Neha," Manyata says blushing.
"Have you ever wondered that you'd fall in love with a guy you hated?" Neha questions.
"No not really," Manyata tells her, playing around with her fingers nervously.
"Come on, let's put this on. Everyone is waiting for you downstairs," Neha tells her. She then nods, and Neha places the red dupatta on her head. "Only minutes now. Then he will be yours," Neha laughs. Manyata doesn't say anything, instead she just looks down and blushs.
"C'mon Udayveer's blushing bride, let's not let him wait another second," Neha winks.
"Yeah okay," She whispers. They both then go down together; Neha guiding her.
"Look he's staring at you," Neha quietly tells her as they walk down the stairs. Manyata glances up to look at him and both their eyes meet for a moment. But the eye-lock soon breaks away as the two girls reach the bottom of the stairs.
"Aah! Manyata agaya!" DS tells the guests. She then walks up to Manyata and helps her on to the puja stage. "You are looking very pretty dear."
"Thank you DS," She whispers.
Soon she is escorted to sit next to Uday. She sits down; keeping her eyes downcasted. And he looks at her beauty.
"Aab hum puja kar sakti hai?" The pundit asks.
"Haan, shurwat karyeh pundi ji," DS says. The pundit then recietes many things, and the couple carrry on sitting; her looking down and him looking at her.
"Aab uttiyeh," The pundit tells them. Both stands up as the pundit explains to them about what they have to do. Komal ties a red dupatta to each others clothes and then the two hold hands. Manyata first does her rounds of walking around the fire. Then Uday takes his turns and afterwards they both sit on the floor once again. The pundit recites more veruses and everyone smiles watching the two.
Then the pundit tells Uday to put the mangalsutra and sindoor on Manyata. He does as he is told and then the puja is ended.
The two newly wed couple then take their blessings from the elders and the two go into the car.
"Uday, isn't anyone one else coming in the car with us?" She asks him. He smiles at her.
"Nope. Just you and me baby," He replies back.
"And the driver..." Manyata adds.
"Nope, I'm driving," he tells her.
"Oh okay," She whispers. He opens the front passenger door for her as always and she sits down; looking out of the window. All her cousins, friends and her sister wave at her and she waves back at them.
"Don't worry, we'll come and visit them tommorow," Uday tells her as he closes his door.
"Really?" she asks amazed.
"Yes of course," he says. When Manyata first married, Akash never let her visit her family. She tried everything she could to visit them; but it was no use.
"Thank you Uday! Love you so much!" She says, hugging him. From outside an oo-er comes, and Uday rolls all the windows up.
"You already know that I love you, and I'll love you forever and always," he replies back, smiling at her. They pull out of the hug and he drives away. Both talking like they normally would.
"Did I tell you how beautiful you looked today?" Uday says.
"Yes you have, for the fifth time today!" Manyata exclaims.
"Someone's a very talkative bride," Uday says, and then Manyata quietens down.
"Sorry," She whispers.
"You do know I was joking," Uday says, and then Manyata punches him in the arm. "Ouch, I'm sorry!"
A month later the two go on their honeymoon to Venice in Italy. They go on a boat there; Uday rowing.
Uday then starts singing:

"Aww Uday, how cute, why do you have to be so sweet!" Manyata says blushing.
"Because my parents had diabetes," he says.
"Really? I didn't know that..." She staggers.
"Princess, I was only joking," Uday tells her. Then they both start laughing.
"Did you ever think that we'd be here right now? Together?" Manyata says.
"Anything is possible Princess," Uday states.
"That's true. But if you ever thought about it, if we never met at the shopping mall then we'd never be here," Manyata carries on.
"Princess why would you ever want to think about that?" Uday asks her, confused. He always thought that it was a miracle; that moment when they first met. He had found the lost princess just because of a mere scar; an accident that happened in childhood. He never wondered what life would have been like if they had never met then.
However, she always wondered how it would have been like if they had never met. If he just gave up at the dare, and if she just ran away in the first place from him. Her life would have been normal, she would've achieved her dream career by now. All her dreams would have come true. But they did meet then, at the shopping mall. And then that moment changed her whole life. She didn't understand anything at first; if she did then maybe she would have been in a different place.
"I don't know, sometimes I just wonder what life would have been like," She tells him. Then there's a moment of silence. They both look at the place surrounding them. All the other boats passing them; the Italian music playing. People chatting and gossiping. But here were them two; really quiet, not knowing what to comment about after their recent conversation.
He keeps rowing hard until he's hands start to ache, and then he stops to rest. She still stays quiet, looking around the place. Venice; such a beautiful and busy place. A place where they use boats instead of cars. Where the roads aren't made of cement and tar, but of rivers and water. A place which is meant to be romantic. She then looks up at him and he looks up at her. They share this sweet eye-lock for a moment. A moment lost in time; frozen.
"Princess..." He starts to say,
"Yes..." She replies back to him. He then stands up and sits next to her. Taking her hands into his, he looks into her eyes.
"Never, ever, say that again. What happened in the past remains in the past. It can't be changed. We shouldn't regret it. It was our fate that brought us here..." He says. She carries on looking into his eyes, and he looks back at her.
"But..." She says but Uday interrupts her.
"Shhh..." He says, placing his finger on her lips. She doesn't say anything, and he then removes his finger and he moves in closer. Then they share a sweet kiss.
"I guess it was fate that brought us here..." Manyata whispers.
