Best of Kasamh Se – Yet to come?

Every Soap has its peaks and its lows and then a period where it stabilizes and then a point where it saturates! As with all other daily soaps, let us do an analysis whereby we can disucss whether the Best and Worst in Kasamh Se is over or is yet to come. I have given some choices which you can pick as your answer or give one of your own with your own specific reasons of doing so! Also, with every phase of Kasamh Se you pick and choose, also add a memorable scene of that particular phase which is still etched clearly in your memory! I have added some scenes which are still etchd in my memory as being some of the best of KS till date, you may choose one of those or add the one you feel was the best in that phase of the soap!

For me, I think the best of Kasamh Se is already over and that was the phase when Jai and Bani got married till the time the Park Road Fiasco happened! If I have to choose the time when Kasamh Se was the most interesting and addictive, I would say the time, when Massi entered and Jai and Bani were forced to be together! The best scenes took place at that time and the story was so riveting and the episodes so interesting, that I remember watching every repeat of the episode aired on Television!

Althought there have been several memorable scenes in KS till now, if I had to pick and choose only one, I would say the first scene between Jai and Bani in their Bedroom, when a drunken and emotionally battered Jai stumbles into their room only to meet with Bani's quiet and loyal support to him! I think this scene was a path-breaker, seldom have we seen such sensitivity and creativity portrayed in a Hindi Daily Soap! The whole essence of Jai's broken heart and vulnerability behind his steely exterior and Bani's loyality and support towards the Man whom she had only seen as her Mentor but has now become her husband was brought out with a class and dignity that is rarely seen on Television!

Althought the serial still has ample scope to toy with its story, without spoiling the essence, I do not see it ever getting to be as interesting as it was till recently! The whole essence of KS lied in the Bitter-sweet romance between Jai Walia and Bani, which has peaked with the Consummation Scene and is now on a downwards spiral! Even if KS does not separate Jai and Bani or get them married off to 5 different people, it will never be able to re-create the simmering chemistry and heart-tugging romance that Jai and Bani shared after their marriage till the Consummation Scene Episode! This is not to say that KS won't be interesting enough to watch, its just that the USP of KS is that it is an Emotional Love Story between the two protagonists and all said and done, a Soap is not formatted to show a Love Story in a long run, they have to add numerous other angles to it for making it drag along and if they do that to KS, it will surely loose its sheen, and if they don't do this to KS, then there would be nothing to see in the Soap, so its actually a Catch-22 situation!

Ok, now it is your turn to pick and choose which phase of KS you liked best and what is the most memorable scene of that phase that you still remember fondly! I am not able to update much on the latest front, as I haven't seen or read the updates of KS for almost a week now!

Btw, I have primarily mentioned only Jai and Bani's scene, you can add any scene you feel as the one you liked best!

PHASE I – The Debut / Character Introductions and Inter-relations between them

When the serial debuted and the the main characters are introuduced and their inter-personal relations are shown in bits and pieces. Intially the story revolved between the three sisters and the love story between Bani, Pia and Pushkar, with Jai in the background, with some misunderstandings between Jai and Bani resolved and how the sisters become an integral part of Jai's family.

Memorable Scene : Jai's introduction and his first meeting with Bani and her sisters at his home and that famous line, "Mujhe woh log bilkul pasand nahin jo mere kadmon par girte hai…."

Pushkar's introductory scenes and his subsequent bonding scenes with Jai and later his intial scenes with Bani as he becomes her best friend and guardian!

Jai and Bani's confronation regarding the money embezzlement issue and the subsequent reconciliation between them.

Jai's shocked reaction when he comes to know that Mohan Khandelwal wants to marry Bani and then later when Pia wants to marry Mohan!

Bani about to confess her love to Pushkar when she sees him in an embrace with Pia and then Pushkar kisse's her affectionately on her Cheeks as they are both under the Mistletoe at Jai's Valentine Day Party.

PHASE II – Pair being made and unmade as everyone falls in love with the wrong ones!

The story shifted to focus on Jai-Pia-Pushkar with Bani in the background and the whole marriage thing happening with Jai's proposal, Pia's betrayal to Pushkar, Bani's differences with Jai and then eventually Pia running away.

Memorable Scene/s : Jai and Bani's heartwarming bonding and affection in the Office Scene where Bani tells Jai that his heart is like one of a child.

Jai and Bani's showdown when Bani confronts him regarding his feelings for Pia and he confess's being in love with her and wanting to marry her.

Jai and Pia get engaged and Bani drops in unexpectedly at the Party and has a huge showdown with Jai and later with Pia.

Pushkar in a state of acute drunkenness declares that while Pia's beauty might lead people astray, Bani's beauty is the kind which shows Light to people in darkness.

PHASE III – The Protogonists are thrown together in Holy Matrimony sealed by hatred and misunderstandings.

In an unexpected turn of events, Jai Walia marries Bani Dixit and a new phase of life begins for two completely different people, who are in love with different people but are forced to come together because of the circumstances. The whole period starting with the marriage till the time when Jai and Bani's relationship hits a low and Bani is thrown out of the House by Jai, on charges of embezzlement.

Memorable Scene/s : The whole marriage scene, where Jigyasa manipulates Bani to sit instead of Pia and Jai's look of hatred when he puts Sindoor on Bani's forehead and later as he throws her out of the room on their Wedding Night.

The Party at Mohan Khandelwal's house where Jai first breaks down in front of Pushkar and later punches him in his stomach when he witness the CD in which Pushkar and Pia are in an intimate position.

Jai threatening Bani that he will make her pay for what Pia and Pushkar did to him and Bani's silent submission to Jai.

The silent scene between a drunken and emotionally battered Jai and a quietly supportive and equally shattered Bani.

Bani's double cross to Jai as she outwits him by getting Pia and Pushkar escape from Mohan Khandelwal's house.

Pia and Pushkar's marriage scene followed by Jai's threat to Bani.

The whole flirting scene between Jai and Bani when the Guests come over for Dinner at Walia House.

Bani breaking down in front of Jai when he questions her why did she go to Pia and Pushkar's house and Bani tells him that it was her Mother's Death Anniversary and Jai's subsequent softening towards her.

"Kaash tum Pia ki behen nahin hoti" scene between Jai and Bani where they for the first time let their hearts open in front of one another as their hands and hearts meet in the intimacy of their bedroom.

Jai and Bani's major showdown when Ranveer traps Bani for embezzlement and Jai throws out Bani from his House.

PHASE IV – Fairy Godmother enters and weaves together the broken Pearls, Jai and Bani!

Billo Massi's entry and the fun phase of Kasamh Se where Jai and Bani are forced to come together again and pretend to be a loving couple. The cutest KS scenes took place during this phase, with Jai and Bani softening towards one in subtle ways.

Memorable Scene/s : Massi making Jai and Bani put the Gold Chain around one another's necks and Bani doing the Pooja with the Family as Jai keeps staring at her in anger and hatred.

Jai and Bani sleeping on the same bed and Bani waking up to face Jai and staring at him in confusion and wonder.

Jai and Bani driving to the Farmhouse in a sullen silence as Jai keeps staring at Bani throughout the journey and she finally gets down from the Car and reaches on her own, remembering Jai all the time!

The Picnic Scene at Jai's Farmhouse Scene followed by Jai sarcastically telling Bani, "I love you."

The Bathroom Scene where Bani gets Water for Jai, who is only half-clad and the following embarrassment.

The Party Scene where Jai gets drunk and breaks down crying on Bani's shoulder and she embraces and comforts him. (My second favourite scene!)

Jai waking up to see Bani sleeping on his arms and he keeps lying down so not to disturb Bani's sleep and she in turn getting extremely embarssed and blushing coyly.

PHASE V – Dark Night (Roshni) enters and unwittingly sows the seed of jealousy and possessiveness and ultimately undying love in Bani's heart for Jai!

Roshni Chopra's entry, marking the beginning of the realization of love in Bani's heart as jealousy and possessivness for Jai makes Bani realize that she just might have fallen in love with the man whom she never wanted in the first place. Jai still clueless about what Bani felt for him, but at the same time fighting with his emotions to find out what he feels for his unwanted wife.

Memorable Scene/s : Bani waiting for Jai to come back home while wondering that why is she so bothered about Jai, when he is the least bit concerned.

Jai struggling with his Shirt Button and Bani sews it up for him, while Jai keeps staring at her and she keeps blushing under his unwavering gaze!

The "Suniyeji" / "Ji Kahiye" scene between Jai and Bani.

The Goa episode, where Bani's hair gets entangled in Jai's Coat Buttons and he removes them for her.

When Bani chooses a shirt for Jai in the Mall and he tries it on for her.

The Dori tying scene followed by Jai's confession that he no longer has any ill-feelings for Bani and wants to cordially end their relationship.

Jai questioning Bani about her Pregnancy and his subsequent shock, dismay and anger when she acknowledges that she is Pregnant.

The end of the Pregnancy Drama with Jai apologizing to Bani for his misbehaviour and later missing her presence in his room. Memorable Line, "After all you are my wife God-damit."

PHASE VI – The Park Road Mystery!

The Park Road Mystery comes up with Roshni threatening to blow up Jai's past link to Bani and at the same time realizing that what he feels for Bani is more than what he had attributed and in a state of emotional frenzy Jai and Bani consummate their marriage and Bani finally acknowledges her deep love for Jai to herself, but Jai in a state of confusion tells Bani that he only feels affection and respect for her but not love.

Memorable Scene/s : Jai gifting Bangles to Bani and then inviting her for a Dinner Date.

In a fit of jealous rage, Bani blasting off Jai for not able to find his clothes and Jai's burst of amused and surprised laughter thereafter! (One of my personal favourites)

Bani's emotional breakdown on seeing Jai with Roshni in the Hotel Room and Jai trying to comfort Bani followed by both of them consummating their marriage. (Has to be the Scene of the Year!)

Bani acknowledging her love for Jai to herself even when he tells her that whatever happened between them was a mistake and that she should forget it.

Jai getting Bani back from the Hospital after she is injured in the Fire when she is on her way to meet Pushkar.

Bani picking out a Kurta for Jai at Raashi and Saahil's Shagun Ceremony followed by a lot of flirting and bantering between them.

The God-down scene where Jai tells Bani that he will never see her face if she comes to know of his past.

The emotional talk between Jai and Bani in their bedroom where Jai tells Bani that he is through with his past and wants to move ahead in life (supposedly with Bani)

The Whole Sangeet Episode with Jai singing for Bani and later both of them dancing together, looking totally in love.

PHASE VII – Jai and Bani being shattered apart from the shadow of their past!

The Park Road Mystery blows up, with Rano and Saahil / Ranveer and Raashi / Anu and Rohit marriage taking place and Jai finally realizes his love for Bani but she begins to hate him as she comes to know that Jai had accidentally killed her Mother a few years back and hidden this truth from her all along.

Memorable Scene/s : Jai gifting the Necklace Set to Bani in front of the Family and later Bani dancing and trying to tell Jai that she loves him.

The scene in Mukesh Mills where Bani goes and hugs Jai as the Bomb is going to go off.

Jai coming to know about Bani's pregnancy and is happy and sad at the same time.

Bani gets to know about her Pregnancy and Jai tries to convince her to work out their marriage for the sake of the child.

PHASE VIII – A Catalyst is conceived as Jai and Bani are bonded together for life even though apart!

A preganant Bani leaves Jai's house and Jai is now trying to woo back Bani for the sake of his child that she is carrying, but Bani is adamant and refuses to come back to Jai, even though they haven't broken their marriage. Everyone in the family is trying to help them reconcile their differences.

The whole scene where Jai tries to find Bani when she has left his home and is seen remembering her and missing her.

Jai's death scene, followed by the reaction of his family and that of Bani as she barges into the Hospital Room to see Jai.

The whole Fake-Death scene where Jai coolly tells Bani that he lied in order to get her back and Bani's anger over Jai.

Or do you guys think that KS is going downhill from now onwards and will never recover its Golden Days?
