Ooohhh, that was gripping with Maan being drugged and what not...now this is getting way too interesting, Varun trying to "get rid" of Maan and Maan's concern for Geet's safety.
Now, it would be awesome if Maan were to offer to take care of Geet's security PERSONALLY đ
I really hope that this story gets updated more often than every 2 months, but I will wait if I have to b/c I'm sure you will make it worth it.
Chapter 8:
"What did you find out about her?" Maan asked Khan, walking inside the office.
"Geet is twenty three and an orphan. When she was fifteen tragedies struck her family; her father lost huge amount of money in business driving him to depression. He died few months later and her mother died along similar lines. Her relatives didn't bother looking after her so she came to the city and lived with an old and distant relative. Since they didn't have enough money, she worked as an extra dancer in movies to make ends meet. Two years into the city, the elderly relative died leaving Geet alone again. Few years later Eman saw her at a movie set and offered her a job in Skoda. Since then she has been working there as a background dancer." Khan said in a monotone.
"Very interesting story," Maan said and chuckled. Khan's face betrayed surprised.
"Are you surprised?" Maan asked peering at his right hand associate. Khan didn't respond.
"You know Khan, if you actually look into this story deeper, you will find that it's one hundred percent accurate," Maan said walking towards windows in his office. He watched early morning traffic beneath his feet but his mind was replaying events of previous night again.
"I don't understand sir," Khan asked.
"Simpler the story simple it is to maintain, explore and improvise." Maan smiled in slight admiration. Before Khan could formulate a response he said, "When Vikram calls me tell him I would like to meet him in Istanbul. I want him to meet his little brother and see how it goes."
"When he calls you? You seem sure that Vikram would call you today," Khan said with a slight smile.
"Vikram would definitely want to know about why I left the party early last night. Tell him I fell sick during party and couldn't tell him."
"And he would agree to meet you in Istanbul?" Khan asked still looking skeptically at Maan.
"He will." Maan said. Khan was impressed at the confidence and finality in his boss's tone. "Give him the same slot as Varun. I want to see what these two brothers are up to given how the two of them are eying me as their trophy." Maan said turning around. Khan nodded at him and watched the younger man walk back from watching the streets outside the window.
There was something extremely guarded about Maan as if there was a cocoon around him which was impenetrable by any words or anyone. At the back of his mind he wondered if it was a sheer coincidence that Maan's background matched exactly like Geet's.

"Open up Geet. I know you are in there," Eman's voice rang from the other side of the door. Geet visibly sighed and threw the knife on the kitchen counter.
"There is my favorite girl," Eman said happily as Geet opened the door.
"You tell that to every girl," Geet responded with a smile. "What do you want Eman?" She asked the forty two year old pot-bellied man. Eman was an ordinary face in the crowd; never attracted attention from anyone as his plaintive face was a forgettable one. Or at least that's what he lamented with Geet.
"Breakfast?" She asked. Eman nodded happily and hopped on the kitchen counter.
"I heard you went to a party last night. I thought you weren't interested in waitress job at parties Geet," Eman said watching Geet move around the kitchen.
"Well it wasn't a regular party Eman you know I wouldn't have gone otherwise." Geet said in a soothing tone. Eman received a share of her salary and any work she did outside the bar also involved a hike in his earnings. He called himself her "manager" and few other girls were under his "care". Though it was common in their world that these so called managers were the primary exploiters of girls like Geet, Eman had restrained himself against the temptation. She didn't delve much into reason but she believed it could be because she had saved his ass the first time she met him.
"Well I came here to ask if you are interested to go to another party hosted by some foreign people who are doing business here. I heard it's another high profile one with some celebrities around," Eman said gauging Geet's reaction. She shook her head. Of course she would.
"Did someone ask for me specifically to be there?" Geet asked looking at him without blinking. Eman kept a calm facade.
"No," Eman replied. The very slight tremor in his voice gave away his lie but Geet feigned ignorance.
"When is this party?"
"Next week," Eman replied smoothly.
"So you think I should go to this one because it pays well and there won't be any 'funny' business," Geet asked looking straight at him. Eman nodded.
After moments of staring, he blinked.
Geet smiled inwardly.
