The Bhanwari Devi case has captured the imagination of Bollywood filmmakers in a huge way, what with many films being made on the life of the murdered Rajasthani nurse. Recently, we told you about Saadhika Randhawa playing the role of Bhanwari in a movie titled "Bhanwari Ka Jaal". And, now, we hear that TV actor Sara Khan is all set to essay Bhanwari Devi's role in another movie titled "B**ch" by producer-filmmaker Nikhil Tonk. While the producer was trying to rope in Kangna Ranaut, Mallika Sherawat or Bipasha Basu for the role, he had to settle for Sara to play the lead role.
Sara, who is very excited to play the role, says, "It is a very challenging subject. When I heard the script, I was happy because the role will help will help me come out of my innocent and docile bahu image." Sara knows the nitty-gritties of the subject and is taking a keen interest in the creative aspects of filmmaking. "I am friends with Nikhil and I have researched a lot on the subject. We are not showing the life and journey of Bhanwari closely, but making it more commercial and modern," explains Sara. If the role is demanding, actors tend to go the extra mile to prepare for the role and likewise, Sara is also making extra efforts to get into the skin of the character. "I am not a bad actor and I am supposed to stay true to the title of the movie. I am learning classical dance and a bit of Marwari since Bhanwari hailed from Rajasthan," says the actor.
Though the name of the movie has created controversy for being provocative, Sara feels that the title is appropriate. "We have closely followed the case and the title "B**ch" is apt," reasons Sara, adding, "The role is not entirely negative and nobody is born as a b**ch from their mother's womb. There are circumstances that make people one. It is a big responsibility for me and I am doing everything possible to prepare for the role."
