James was looking at Lily asleep in a sleeping position on the couch in front of the fireplace with her potions homework on her face. It was almost midnight and James had slipped down to the common room with a package in his hand. He gently took her homework from her face and set it down. He pushed her gently so that she was in a more comfortable, sleeping position. He covered her with a rug. She snuggled under the rug and her hair fell on her face. James smiled fondly at her and ran his hand on her hair gently.
"Like a dream you can't explain,

She stirred lightly in her sleep and he pushed her hair off her face. He just stared contentedly at the serenity in her face. Her hair fell back in smooth waves and his eyes took in her face as if to capture the image in his heart forever.

He saw a small smile tug at the corners of her lips. He knew that she was dreaming about something nice. He smiled sadly knowing that it was not him who was making her smile. She hated him. He wished that it was him she was dreaming about… he wished…

The clock struck 12. James wanted to sing all his heart out to her… as he knew she wouldn't listen to him when she was awake. He had already started and saw no point in stopping now… he went on…

He gave her a wistful look as she stirred a little in her sleep. His breath caught in her throat as he took in her eyes… he nose… her lips… her slender, vulnerable neck…
He just wanted to kiss her right then…
"Happy sweet 16… my Lily flower…" he whispered in her ear. He kissed her cheek lightly and placed the package he had brought, next to her. After one long look at her, left to his dormitories.
Lily slowly opened her eyes. She had awakened at his first touch but had pretended to stay awake to see what he would do. She was appalled at what she had seen him do… or rather heard him do… she could not believe that he had sung such a beautiful song to her. He really sounded like it was heartfelt. She lightly touched the spot where he had kissed her. She gingerly picked up the packet he had laid beside her. She opened it and found a small pendant lying inside a white, velvet box. She picked up the pendant. It was made of 4 lilies placed inside a heart next to each other. They were placed next to each other and each of them had one letter on them. Together they spelt Lily. She stared at the staircase where he had left and sang softly,
"Suddenly everything has turned me inside out.
Suddenly love is a thing that I can't live without…"
She fingered the pendant lightly and whispered,
"I just wanna spend my life with you…"
A/N: This is my first shot at a song-fiction and I don't know how it turned out. I am actually working on another fiction now but this idea just popped into my mind and was tugging at it to be put down on paper. So here it is. Please review and tell me how it sound… good or bad?
